  1. Is there a Coach Mac show Monday night ? I know it's Labor Day, but I missed last week. Rudy's on I-35. And what time ? GO MEAN GREEN
  2. I got to Apogee at about 5:50 anticipating a 6:00 kickoff. When the weather delay was announced, the "wing-tron" was blank for the most part. There were a few ESPN promos and at one point stadium announcer Tim Crouch spoke welcoming everyone to Apogee. I thought the PA was very distorted for the Tim Crouch announcements. As if the volume was turned up too high or through very cheap speakers. The ESPN broadcast was better but too loud. Again, as if forcing too much power through the speakers. As I walked in from the AC parking lot, I was impressed with how little sound came from BEHIND the wing-tron. All the sound came out to the north-where the fans are. The distortion concerns me. 3. The play in the 3rd (I think) quarter. NT receiver was judged to be juggling the catch. Both feet got down in bounds but I thought it was a good catch. But my point is, why was that play not reviewed ? I'm a homer, so i thought it was good from the get go. But after watching the replay several times, I thought it was a catch. Whatever the call, trailing by 30+ points, what was the risk ?
  4. A fun story. However, spelling still counts. Look at #46. The story about Notre Dame. "Thier" should have been spelled "there."
  5. I think it is interesting to note that Fred Thompson knows more about North Texas that even he might realize. He was in the Acadmey Award winning film Necessary Roughness filmed in Denton and North Texas. Thompson's career was stalled until he created the Emmy Award character that brought him international fame. GO MEAN GREEN
  6. If this has been mentioned before, please forgive me. I was surprised that my parking lot assignment included a specific parking space. I understood that I'd be given a lot and to find my space within that lot. A space that I can count on and nurture as it grows up is really more than I expected. I'll be taking pictures of my space and posting them here as soon as I can. I think I'll dress it up for it's first game. I'm just so proud. GO MEAN GREEN
  7. It's simple. If Houston supports their team better than we support ours, there will be more red than Green. Have you done what you can to make sure there's more Green than red ? GO MEAN GREEN
  8. I'm glad they sold so fast. Good sign. GO MEAN GREEN
  9. Let's put a "U" on our helmets. It doesn't look like any other team will be using that logo for a while. GO MEAN GREEN
  10. I know it. Awason was a Viking Was a good friend of mine He had those horns on his helmet And he never had to stand in line. Is that it ?
  11. You could call it Mickey's Mean Green. Oh,...wait.
  12. I like it. I wish it had some mention of Apogee Stadium as well.
  13. I think the air miles belong to the passenger, not the purchaser.
  14. if you can find the old one, you'll find the new Apogee Stadium. there are lots and lots of new hotels in Denton. There's no need to stay out of town for a football weekend in Denton. Lot's of good places to eat as well. Chain types on the Interstate and unique one of a kind on the historic Denton Square. Holiday Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, the aforementioned Best Western, Homewood Suites, Hampton that I can think of off the top of my head. I'd stay in any of them. Apogee Stadium is about 1 or 2 miles south on I-35E (Just before 35E and 35W come together). Denton is a fun friendly town. you'll have a good time here. Welcome. Joe
  15. Just my .02 worth... I heard that a group of businessmen had gotten together and formed a group to raise money to name the stadium- MEAN JOE GREENE STADIUM. Worth what it cost ya. GO MEAN GREEN
  16. I bought my season tickets before the end of July. Out of town games went on sale Monday. I was told out of town tix might oor might not be mailed with season tickets/ GO MEAN GREEN
  17. I voted to let Coach Mac run his show. And I appreciate seeing the correct usage of "I couldn't care less." Have you done your part ? GO MEAN GREEN
  18. In this heat, I hope it doesn't MELT. GO MEAN GREEN
  19. Although there guys are based in austin, they have the sense to understand that their new store is in Denton. That alone makes me want to eat with them. Good Luck CHUY'S GO MEAN GREEN
  20. I was a huge Fry fan as well. But this demonstrates the Coach Fry was helping himself ("...Fry, you're out of your mind. We're going somewplace else."). There's nothing wrong with this attitide, but Hayden Fry wasn't at North Texas for his health. Does anyone remember who the women's coach mentioned in Silver's story would have been ? (And the dance team was called the North Texas Dollies.) Buy... Contribute... Join GO MEAN GREEN
  21. Like Cooley posted earlier, I too, just sat in my seats looking at the kids playing in the turf. It was hard to believe I was at NT. This place is like that really great place you've visited in the past. The difference of course is that I was at MY home stadium. There were so many people there yesterday, we had to wait in line to get in the elevators. And once I got up to the Club Level, I was reluctant to wait in line to go back down. Thereby, I didn't get to hear Coach Mac or Rick V. But I did hear the cheers that came up from those that were able to hear the speeches. If I could critize anything about yesterday, it would be that the speeches be broadcast on the PA system. And perhaps show the speech on the Mean Green-a-tron. A great day. I took 3 guests and they were all astounded. "I had no idea that North Texas had anything like this." Great job Rick V. You've really given us something to be proud of. Now Coach Mac, it's your turn. If you haven't, Make a contribution to the Mean Green Club Make a contribution to the new stadium fund Buy season tickets and of course, GO MEAN GREEN
  22. Back to the topic, I was please to see that Coach Mac bought a home in Denton. I think if he is really going to sell NT and Denton, he needs to live in Denton. Coach Mac, by my estimation, has done everything right since arriving back in January (?). He's paying taxes and making a contribution to the City. Thanks Coach McCarney Buy Season Tickets Make a Stadium Contribution Join the Mean Green Club GO MEAN GREEN
