  1. I hope you show us we were wrong about the near-leaders on Thursday night.
  2. How about a "Cheerleader scoreboard" similar to the 3 point scoreboard or the blocked shots, etc. And if we get, say 8 cheerleaders to a game, everyone gets a coupon for a free taco.
  3. I'm hoping 10, but I bet less than 4. And I haven't seen Scrappy in so long I forgot what he (she?) looks like.
  4. If they unlock the doors and turn on the lights I'll be there. Maybe even to the tailgate.
  5. yeah-I remember the Southland Conference tournament. I thought one of the McNeese coaches was going to come into the stands and kill me. I too had heard we would host the '05 'Belt tournament. Good fun. Just Win Baby
  6. Ya know, one of the hardest things about any job, paid or voluntary, is showing up. If the cheerleaders and Scrapy can't show up at the games, perhaps they misjudged the time committment for being a cheerleader/mascot. Here's a test. If you can't make home games because of work, study, illness, or whatever, you don't have what it takes to be a cheerleader / mascot (note: everyone seemed to be able to go to New Orleans) . No hard feelings, but allow someone who DOES have the time to cheer, to wear the uniforms. And as far as I'm concerned, the gymnastic stuff is a distraction. GMG
  7. Glad "LOSTIN SPACE" finally went to a game. We do this a couple of times in many weeks. Quit "talking" about buying season tickets.. But them now. You can prorate the season tickets now. We need your purchase, and your keyster in the seat. This would also get your name on the list to be contacted in the summer for football as well as basketball tickets. Just Win Baby
  8. co-green--It's YOUR job to lead. Hence the name. Spread out around the coliseum and lead. You guys sit there at the end of the floor and visit with each other. If the job's too hard, take off your uniform, and buy a ticket.
  9. Top twenty or so. Beating Texas was huge. We played Memphis state (when they were) when they were ranked in the top 5 and had a lot of energy. One of my all time favorites was the second year we played DePaul. We were at their place the first year. When they came in here, they were ranked #1 in the nation. This was during the Kenneth Lyons era (Pat Hicks, Delonte Taylor, Furmia Neely, with Bill Blakeley coaching). The game was hyped about Lyons and Mark Aguire being the top two players in the nation. They were after each other all game. Finally Lyons threw aguire OVER the NT bench. No kidding OVER. We lost but what fun. Ithought last night's game was that kind of game. But I'd rather win. Just win baby.
  10. It was great fun meeting with you last night. I'm going to miss the saturday night game against South Alabama. I've got to work. Thanks for the dog at the tailgate party.
  11. I thought I was the only person that noticed. Our cheerleaders are worthless. They don't lead cheers. They only (sometimes) react to the yells that the fans start. It was fun last night to here the NORTH/TEXAS cheer. Why is it that the UNT dancers are always there in full force, but the non-cheerleaders are somewhere else. If this is such a commuter school, then why can't they commute to the Pit for a scheduled game. Is there any requirement of cheerleaders to actually attend the games?
  12. I'll be at the game. As always. I've never been to the tailgate. I'm coming tonight. I've got a 10' x 10' popup canopy I could bring if anyone feels the need.
  13. The whole N.T.S.U. thing bothers me too, but I think it also says that our program is better known, and for a longer time than we realize. Bigrobdsp is right--The more we win, the easier it will be to pronounce our name correctly. GMG.
