  1. I don't know much about CUSA football, but some teams, Rice, Tulane, Memphis, and UAB I think we can compete with today. Tulsa is very tough. I don't know about UTEP but a better conference means better teams. Right ? So, if we play better teams, there should be no surprise if some of those teams pound us. At least, hopefully, for just a little while. We need to win at whatever level and in whatever conference we play in. GO MEAN GREEN
  2. The most compelling thing concerning this Coack MaC said last night was that he wouldn't put someone on the field so that North Texas could lose. Son of a friend or not, I truly believe Coach MaC wants to win. And I also believe he'd sit his own son if another player gave NT a better chance to win. Next game, start a chant, "We want Ozzy," and see what happens. And if a big guy in sunglasses comes into the stands, remember what I said above. GO MEAN GREEN
  3. At the coach's show each Monday night, Coach MaC has said over and over that in practice, McNulty does a better job. And that while he's aware of some guys playing better than they practice, he doesn't believe it. And since practices are closed, for good reason I think, we must believe that Coach is correct in his quaterback assessment or that he is not being honest. Because I have not reason to think otherwise, I have to believe that McNulty practices better than Osborn. I hope Derek Thompson is 100% quickly because our offense drops a level or two without him. 4. And according to Coach MaC, we lead the Conference as the team with the fewest penalties. As far cry from previous years. GO MEAN GREEN
  5. Coach set a cup of coffee down and forgot about it. He glared at the cup for 3 seconds and it was piping hot. No sugar, please. GO MEAN GREEN
  6. Dr. Seuss is correct. I'm not in a fraternity and I don't know what the frats do for the school. What do frats do for the University of North Texas ? Could then, one of the things frats do for the school, they come into the Stadium and be counted ? Their tickets are already apid for. The ony effort would be to pick up a ticket prior to game time and walk from the tailgate area into the game. This could be another thing frats do for the school. I really am not picking on fraternities, but it is they that put their greek letters up so that I can read them from Apogee. I assume they are displaying their letters because they are proud of what they are doing. They certainly wouldn't display their name if they were not proud. Right ? GO MEAN GREEN
  7. I think we travel fairly well. Especially when there's a bowl game to b played. I think many bowl sponsors would look at NT as a pretty good payday. Who was it that predicted North Texas and Southern Miss (I think) in a bowl game ? And what bowl game was it ? 6-6 ? Sounds good to me. GO MEAN GREEN found it. It was the BBVA COMPASS BOWL played at the Liberty Bowl in Birmingham, AL.
  8. Of course, I realize that the frats aren't the only ones that party whhile the game is going on. I simply don't see 8 foot tall letters saying, CHESS CLUB or HANGERS ON. The greek letters I see are as much as advertising that they don't/won't come into the Stadium. GO MEAN GREEN
  9. As I watched a great game last afternoon, I saw hundreds of people still tailgating and those that I saw were partying around big greek letters. The only ones I could make out were the Kappa Alpha "KA" letters, but there were at least one more I couldn't read. Why aren't these UNT Clubs going into the Stadium and supporting the team ? Students have already paid for their tickets, right ? Did these clubs have hundreds of alums that didn't have tickets ? If so, why not ? I know many things have been discussed in years past about getting tail gate groups into the Stadium. As my wife and i walked toward our seats at 3:30 (too late in my mind, but we saw the kickoff), we spoke of what might encourage these 'non-fans' into Apogee. How about a annoying bell and group of students walking around reminding people it's time to fold up the tent and head to the game. Could these greek clubs e contacted and asked to close down their party and go to the gme ? If asked, would they respond in the spirit the request was made ? I hope these non-participants will join us and help this team win this year. GO MEAN GREEN
  10. The fans that ran onto the field were AT THE GAME. Unlike the hundreds that continued to tailgate and not even come to the game. I personally don't see the point to rush the field for a regular season game and don't see dumping Gatorade on Coach Mac. But wins haave been few and far between around here for some years. if they come and NT wins, let 'em rush the field. No harm. Great game tonight. GO MEAN GREEN
  11. I heard that rather than graduate, Keenum is going to retire.
  12. For a 6:00 kickoff, we've been getting to Apogee at about 2:00. With the new kickoff time, we'll get to Apogee at about 2:00 and tailgate less. No big deal one way or the other. Just win GO MEAN GREEN
  13. If North Texas is ever going to develop a "rival" CUSA offers a better opportunity. I also think CUSA teams are more familar to our fans, to say nothing of better travel. I understand that it's always better to travel east rather than west. MWC may or may offer better teams from a national standpoint, but those fans won't be as likely to travel to Apogee. 14. thanks. got it. 3-7 GO MEAN GREEN
  15. How can I watch the game on ESPN 3 ? Please provide a very simple explanation as I'm not so Internet savey. 3-0 GO MEAN GREEN
  16. Help me with this. It seems to me that if SMU goes to the Big East, a MWC/CUSA merger will leave both (or the new) conferences without a presence in the DFW market. Isn't that good for North Texas, assumming MWC/CUSA WANT a presence in DFW ? GO MEAN GREEN
  17. I think B is about right. Alabama was unwinable. FIU had the advantage of a in-place coaching staff and a solid group of players returning. Tulsa and Houston had more horses than we did. If A+ is the highest grade available, what grade would Coach MaC have gotten had NT defeated Alabama and/or Houston ? What I would give Coach McC an A on is his work away from the football field. He greets everyone with passion and excitement. That aspect of his personality gets him extra points in my book. Aside from his W/L record. Great job so far Coach MaC. I can't wait for what's to come. GO MEAN GREEN
  18. That worked well for a coach that lived in the North Texas area.
