  1. Zach Olen first team.....Nice to see that Zach overcame inconsistent August and September practices to become a top notch kicker! Looks like our place kicking position will be in good hands for the next three years.
  2. I beg to differ on it still being a "wasted freshman year". Since it is probably 99% sure he will get a medical redshirt for 2010, losing that year of eligibility in 2009 is no longer an issue. That one drive in 2009 against Arkansas State did wonders for his confidence and showed everyone that he has potential to be a good QB.
  3. I have placed my deposit for two seats. I look forward to being a part of the Club Level Seating and the Club Lounge! In the words of KRAM1, "Good Things are Happening for the Mean Green!" The athletic department has made a statement with the hiring of Coach Mac and retaining Chico. More fans need to respond to that statement with their further support by joining the Mean Green Club and making a donation to the New Stadium Fund!
  4. This is a real reach.....How about McCarney as HC, Canales as Offensive Coordinator and...........Leavitt as Defensive Coordinator?
  5. The food, beer etc has been free all year at the road tailgate tent compliments of the UNT Athletic Department.
  6. Good to see there is a topic posted about the upcoming football game instead of the endless discussions about the next coaching hire... UNT 31 ULM 24 Riley Dodge 150 yards passing, 1 TD and 0 picks Lance Dunbar 135 yards rushing, 2 TD's Brandin Byrd 50 yards rushing, 1 TD UNT wins the turnover battle for another game
  7. Todd Dodge is the ultimate class act. I would have to say a majority of the players on this 2010 team did believe in him as evidenced by the roughly 50 or more players that walked up to him after the Western Kentucky game outside the locker room to give him a hug or shake his hand along with most all the coaches. It is unfortunate the results of the games played caused him to lose his job because he certainly made a positive impact on a majority of the players in the game of life with his emphasis on academics, character building and being an exemplary role model for them 365 days a year.
  8. I have been in attendance during this current three game road winning streak and will be in Monroe cheering the team on to hopefully another road victory. These games have been really exciting to watch and obviously the team is playing quite well. However, from a majority of the discussions on this board there is clearly more interest in who may or may not be the next head coach than what actually happened in the games. We need to have a strong showing of fans in Monroe to support the players! With the way the team has been playing I am sure you will not be disappointed.
  9. Here are his senior year stats as a QB at Cedar Hill: Rushing Statistics Att Yds Avg TD 2007 (Sr.) 247 1,921 7.8 22 Passing Statistics PA PC Pct Yds TD Int 2007 (Sr.) 136 76 55.9 1,021 12 5
  10. My boy Matt Tomlinson moved back to playing Tackle. 257 yards rushing for the team and zero QB sacks says Matt was part of an O Line that played a very good game!
  11. I spoke to the West Point Visitor's Center. If you do not have a parking pass then you will need to go to the Blue Gate Parking. Once you arrive there, security will then send you to a parking lot that you can use. Shuttle buses start taking people to the Cadet Review at 7:30 AM. If you are planning on attending the Cadet Review that starts at 9AM they suggest you arrive in West Point at 7:30 AM because of all of the game day traffic. Be prepared to show your ID at parking and at the stadium.
  12. Hopefully, I can get my wife and daughter out of the hotel early to check out the game day scene at this historic campus. 74 degrees will be a pleasant break from what we all went through at tailgating at Fouts on Saturday.
  13. My wife and I will be there to support the Mean Green!
  14. Good to see Tomlinson has moved into the starting lineup!
  15. Each time I see the new stadium I am in awe. The Stadium Construction camera and King DL1's pictures are great to see but there is nothing that compares to walking back to the Athletic Center patio to see it up close.
  16. I would smash the warped Row 16 in Section E that bothers my wife's back.
  17. Our flight arrives in Charlotte, NC on Friday. We are staying in Asheville, NC and returning on Monday.
  18. I will be taking part in the 5K and am certainly looking forward to the scrimmage.
  19. There are two kinds of Walk-Ons. First you have an Invited (also known as Preferred) Walk-On. They are invited by a member of the coaching staff. This usually takes place between National Signing Day in February and before two a days start. They may be asked to join the team at the start of two a days (top 105 players) or after school starts (will be in the group of players #106-120). The second kind of Walk-On is at a tryout that happens in September and February where current students of the university can try to walk on. This year UNT is only doing this in February. The team might select no one or a few that tryout depending on the team's needs and the availablity of spots on the 120 man roster. Anyone selected from this tryout is normally put in the 106-120 group on the team until the next season unless there is a need to move them up to the 105 man active roster. I do not believe players are cut unless there is an academic or team violation issue. Below is what is on the UNT football website for the second kind of Walk-On: Football Walk-on Information There will be no open walk-on tryouts this fall 2010 for the football team. If you have interest in walking on to the football team, the next opportunity will be in February of the spring semester 2011. We have an open tryout day once a year for those individuals who meet the requirements. You can check back the first week of classes (info will be posted on the website) in January 2011 for more details on the exact dates. Thank you for your interest in North Texas Football. FYI: All walk-on prospects who want to be eligible to tryout in the Spring of 2011 must meet the following: 1. Be enrolled at UNT fulltime (12hrs) and carry a 2.25 cumulative G.P.A. at all times. 2. Current and active insurance ( copy must be presented at try out) 3. A physical within 6 months of the try out date in February 2011..
