  1. He really deserves some rest with no expectations after putting up with SMU's crap for the past couple of years.
  2. Big time transfer! Juco Region 5 player of the year from Hill College. https://meangreensports.com/news/2024/3/25/womens-soccer-soccer-signs-jamaican-senior-national-team-midfielder https://njcaaregion5.com/sports/wsoc/2022-23/players/daviarichardsj5lj
  3. GREAT news! Recruiting starts in your own house these days. Glad Tommisha is sticking around!
  4. Xavier might still be a little too far from home. I expect he'll find a Big East or A10 (maybe Colonial or MAAC) school closer to NYC.
  5. His height is probably what is keeping a lot of bigger programs away, but last time we picked up an undersized PG from a neighboring state that everyone else passed on (way back in 2007), we wound up with a HOF'er. 🤞
  6. I always thought, each time we played them over the past 2 years, we could beat FAU... until "Davis time". Then: I'll be so glad when that guy is gone.
  7. As long as Kennedy is at UAB, they will continue to be a thorn, and it doesn't look like Charlotte is going anywhere. Does Memphis do anything over the offseason? It's nice to have a team that's always contending. We actually have to think about what the other contenders are doing to keep up/be better!
  8. We could run the most perfect offense in the world and score 40ppg... we'd still get 45+ hung on us every week with this defense. Hodge's defense is not in the same neighborhood as Morris/Caponi.
  9. It's like having to play against the Triple-option in football. Just a different animal. I love it.
  10. It works both ways. I bet OU wasn't too happy to lose one of their brighter young guys last year in Noland (a guy who started 8 games for them as a sophomore). But Noland wanted more run, and he found that here. I'm glad he did. I bet OleMiss wasn't too happy to lose Allen (a 13-game starter last year), but I'm thankful they did. It's just a part of the game you have to play. Recruiting is a different animal now.
  11. There's no recruiting dropoff. Hodge is likely more relatable than McCasland anyway. Coach Hodge brought in Edwards, Noland, Buggs, Walker & Allen over the last cycle. Also, Phil Forte, who is a good coach/recruiter. The two HS kids we have lined up appear to be nice players (Taylor ranked the #20PG in this class), and based on last year's success, I think it's safe to say he knows what he's doing when finding guys in the portal & JUCO.
  12. Rice got better, no doubt. But coach is gonna be shocked at the stark contrast in admin & booster support between SMU & Rice.
  13. Mentioned starting at Coffeyville... bypassed his biggest accomplishments... went into massive props for KSU.
  14. Someone might have watched the 2nd half of the LSU game, and drew some conclusions. I really hope their actual team thinks the same. Also: HallX2 All World Today at 6:50 AM Defending NIT Champs? https://setonhall.forums.rivals.com/threads/nit-north-texas-—-tweets-stories.64725/post-1060743
  15. They deserved better than what happened to them. They definitely would've rebounded the ball there and had the last shot of the game, just needing 2 to win. Instead, they're down 3pts after 2 made undeserved FTs. I don't understand why it wasn't reviewed.
  16. You're correct. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401526891 Methinks Deep Throte's not deep enough.
  17. I don't know if they have a gmg.com comparative board, but their Rivals board is somewhat active, and there is very little talk about us. Who knows what their players are thinking though.
  18. Whoa! I'm pretty sure Guyer's gym is bigger than that!
  19. You know who SMU boosters will love? Will Wade. If Lanier is let go... that's probably the first guy they call. 2 peas in a pod.
  20. Right. Their 2 bigs who actually contribute are 6'11 & 6'10. We have 6'10 Sissoko & 6'9 Allen. We'll be fine down there. Honestly, if there is a mismatch to be exploited, it's going to be AScott against whoever they trot out on him (likely Dre Davis). Defensively, it's going to come down to if we can contain their 3 good guards... any of whom can go off on any given night. Their PG, Dawes, has been hot over the past 2 games, while their top scorer, Richmond, has only put up 19pts over the same span (in 76 total minutes) on some pretty poor shooting. We're not really going to catch them off-guard with pace of play like we do alot of other teams. They're pretty slow as well, ranking in the bottom 1/3 in possessions/40min. They struggled with the 2 teams they played who are in our neighborhood defensively (UConn & Nova... of course, everyone struggles against UConn! 😂). These dudes can be had. Especially if they come in overconfident.
  21. They'll recoup it over a 2-3 year span with all of the regional travel savings instead of having to fly all around UT/AZ/CA & Seattle.
  22. There's a lot of jilted lover syndrome in this thread.
  23. Just curious if anyone from the university posts on here and could enlighten us on what is actually scheduled at the Super Pit over the weekend. Anyone know?
