They deserved better than what happened to them. They definitely would've rebounded the ball there and had the last shot of the game, just needing 2 to win. Instead, they're down 3pts after 2 made undeserved FTs. I don't understand why it wasn't reviewed.

I don't know if they have a gmg.com comparative board, but their Rivals board is somewhat active, and there is very little talk about us. Who knows what their players are thinking though.

Right. Their 2 bigs who actually contribute are 6'11 & 6'10. We have 6'10 Sissoko & 6'9 Allen. We'll be fine down there. Honestly, if there is a mismatch to be exploited, it's going to be AScott against whoever they trot out on him (likely Dre Davis). Defensively, it's going to come down to if we can contain their 3 good guards... any of whom can go off on any given night. Their PG, Dawes, has been hot over the past 2 games, while their top scorer, Richmond, has only put up 19pts over the same span (in 76 total minutes) on some pretty poor shooting. We're not really going to catch them off-guard with pace of play like we do alot of other teams. They're pretty slow as well, ranking in the bottom 1/3 in possessions/40min. They struggled with the 2 teams they played who are in our neighborhood defensively (UConn & Nova... of course, everyone struggles against UConn! 😂). These dudes can be had. Especially if they come in overconfident.

They'll recoup it over a 2-3 year span with all of the regional travel savings instead of having to fly all around UT/AZ/CA & Seattle.

It's nice to see when the keys to something special are handed over to a new steward, and that guy keeps it going, but in his own way. Recall, the same thing happened in 2012, and it was immediately wrecked. It was nice to see Hodge relax the reigns a little and let the guys play some transition offense this year, instead of staying uber-disciplined in the deliberate offense that we played with GM. Not to say we abandoned that deliberate offense (still 2nd to last in pace of play out of 362 teams behind Virginia). I appreciate Coach Hodge!

Could you imagine how hard TP (and any other player at any other school) would drag them in social media and all over the internet if his NIL deal wasn't honored? Kansas State would never get another player to transfer in if they did that to him. He's a smart dude with a degree from UNT. He was never a flashy guy while here. I highly doubt he turned into one in Manhattan, KS. Unless he used it to take care of his parents, I would bet that's exactly what he did with it (if not both).

High Expectations. It's good to have them. It's even better when they're met.

I’d love to see this core run it back & find another player who can play as well as Allen did for us around the rim (big ask, I know). Overall, another fun year out of Mean Green b-ball.
