  1. Can Morris and his staff just stay in Florida? I've lost my trust in his leadership. If we can't compete with FIU, we have little chance against any of the other teams on our schedule this season... including ACU. We are still two games from conference play and this season is lost. In my wildest dreams, I never saw us being this bad. Just terrible.
  2. I don't disagree. I even mentioned some of those issues. But even despite those issues, Wren got more done than any other AD I can remember. And, I have to give him credit for it.
  3. I don't dislike the helmet. I just think it could have been designed better. If it had an emerald green eagle logo on the right side, & and an emerald green Texas logo with number inside it on the left side, it would work much better. Also pair it with an emerald green chromium facemask. The white pants with the black helmet and jersey just looks stupid. Not a big fan of the black unis, but if you're going to do it, do it all the way, and go with black pants too.
  4. Please explain? While Wren wasn't perfect (hanging on to Benford and Littrell far too long & not being able to juice the big money donors by the time he left), he did great things while at UNT. UNT built great facilities... Built a respected basketball program... Built a respected softball program... Dramatically increased our athletic budget.... Signed us multiple P5 home and home series.... & secured us a spot in the AAC. Wren is clearly the best AD i can remember at UNT. My hope is that Mosley will surpass what Wren has done. So far, he has managed to insure multiple 7 home games seasons for us in the coming years. That's a good start. Hopefully, Mosley can get dirt turning on the AC expansion before next season starts. That is the biggest need, and it has to be addressed soon.
  5. Wouldn't it be easier and more fun for the AAC teams to pay off the refs and have SMU go 0-8 in conference play.
  6. ^ This. Coaches and administrators need to understand that bucking their fan base is never a good idea. Coaches, administrators, and now even players come and go, but the fans outlast them all. Coach O needs to check himself, and focus on his job, which right now he is failing at. This team better be ready to run it up against FIU and LA Tech.
  7. During this run, I counted 13 times that Cal back was grabbed by one of our defenders. That means some of our players got two shots at him. Good thing I'm not in charge, 'cause I'd be firing a defensive coach Monday morning. We can't add new players during the season, but we can bring in better coaches.
  8. Maybe not, but if this is true.... neither can Texas State, and they beat the hell out of Baylor last night, with a bunch of portal players. No excuses. Morris needs to win.
  9. The new videoboards looked nice. See, I'm not completely negative. I give credit where it is earned.
  10. I'm an alum and have had my season tickets at DATCU since it opened against Houston in 2011. I'm not some t-shirt fan.
  11. It means a running back. And, the point is that as a fan base, we cannot tolerate this type of failure. Morris better have our guys ready to run up the scores on the road against LA Tech and FIU, or attendance at DATCU will be very sparce when we return to play ACU.
  12. We live in the age of the portal. There is no excuse for this type of embarrassment. If Texas State can effectively utilize the portal, then Morris damn well better be able to haul in even better talent. And, don't expect the fan base to tolerate failure. Those days are over. Win. No excuses.
  13. Today I watched an RB from Cal drag our defense 15 yards into the endzone for a TD. That is never tolerable. Not even in game one.
  14. We got whipped at the line of scrimmage in the second half and it all fell apart. Morris better work overtime and get this fixed.
  15. but we didn't score a single point in the second half against Cal. Just saying.
  16. I could be way off, but I think Morris will have a more dynamic offense than what we saw from Littrell the last few seasons. I don't expect any improvement from the defense. I have concerns. I don't think we lured enough depth on the D-line or enough talent at the LB positions. Even so, I think we are in for a really solid debut season in the AAC. CAL - W FIU - W La Tech - W ACU - W Navy - W Temple - W Tulane - L Memphis - L UTSA - L SMU - L Tulsa - W UAB - W 8-4
  17. This player's favorite cousin talked him up to me for two years. She told me how much this young man has wants to be a member of the Mean Green program. Gotta love when a player with real ability picks UNT as his first choice. For that he has my respect. I believe he will be a contributor this season even though he's a true freshman. I'm telling you now... don't sleep on this guy. My player is....... LANDON SIDES
  18. Dude, you need to take a photoshop class. That looks ratched.
  19. Good stuff JD. You and Sanoe do a great job of keeping us informed. Thanks.
  20. I'm going to predict that tomorrow's press conference reveals that the terms of DATCU's naming rights agreement includes a sweetheart financing deal for the athletic center expansion. I can dream right?
  21. Really looks like UNT will enjoy 7 home games in 2027, 2028, 2029, & 2030.
  22. 7Up Stadium!!!! But, it will probably DATCU Stadium, which is also great. 👍
  23. from UTSA. But, it does contain great information about how and why the AAC selected each the 6 C-USA programs. * UNT was among the original 4 selected for expansion by the AAC. The idea was to expand back to 12, but in the end FAU & Charlotte were also added. * UNT's commitment to spending on athletics cemented their spot with UAB, UTSA, & Rice. * Aresco insisted that expanding the AAC's presence in Texas was a top priority for the AAC's expansion. Here is the video....
