  1. I’m not a fan of the black unis, but I came to the realization watching Marshall and then Tulane, that if the helmet is green, the black jersey isn’t nearly as bad. As a matter of fact, Marshall, with the green helmet, black jersey, and green pants looked….kinda ok.
  2. I want that to be true, but I honestly have no idea with bowl games being what they are (players opting out, etc) and with rosters changing yearly. My expectation is that they will be somewhere in the bottom half of the conference…probably towards the upper end of the bottom half.
  3. I’m happy with the outcome of the game, but I hardly consider 23-14 “getting it handed to them.”
  4. I’m a “no” on playing TxSt. We are above them in conference affiliation. Even though we may be very similar to them, I don’t think we need to associate ourselves with them in any way. I know that seems snobbish, but we need to do what’s best for us to elevate our brand.
  5. Not sure why you got downvoted for this. Would you get downvoted for suggesting he had diabetes, cancer, asthma, etc. All are legitimate conditions that require treatment. Whatever the issue might be, I hope he can get the help he needs. If that enables him to help us in football, great, but my main concern would be for his future well being.
  6. I think they are officially trying to leave, but they’ve only left unofficially🤣🤣
  7. I agree with @NM Green. I love watching the G5’s in the bowl games. It doesn’t have to be two marquee teams to be a great game. My only complaint this year is that the games, so far anyway, don’t seem to be as accessible to watch…or maybe I just haven’t looked hard enough.
  8. I would imagine KD was playing because that’s what he wanted to do, not out of some sense of owing anyone anything. He was a baller and he wanted to be out there with his teammates one last time.
  9. I find myself hoping UTSA wins. I don’t like it, but I can’t root for a team that was left behind to beat a team in our new, supposedly better conference.
  10. While I mostly agree with you, that doesn’t mean I want to have the most difficult schedule in the conference since the scheduling is unbalanced.
  11. Their head coach is a successful businessman. I don’t think it’s a coincidence.
  12. Smart move to hire a businessman with deep pockets and lots of connections as head coach I guess.
  13. I hope he’s not successful at Cal, but wishing bodily harm on someone? That’s pretty douchbagging low.
  14. I agree. If I give to NIL, I’m contributing to the demise of college athletics. Rest assured, there will be unintended negative consequences above and beyond what we are seeing now.
  15. I agree. My son had it on.
  16. With all the talk of NIL etc., I was wondering if anyone else caught what Chris Fowler said during the ceremony. Something to the effect of they were basically professionals. I could have misunderstood what he said, but that was my takeaway.
  17. We’ll have to agree to disagree on #2. No doubt in my mind that this year’s team beats last year’s team.
  18. I’ve thought along these lines. Doesn’t the legacy of being in a school’s hall of fame, etc. mean anything? I think the days of retired numbers, rings of honor, and hall of fame inductions are over in football and probably basketball. Additionally, couldn’t a lot of these guys parlay that into money in the future? If you truly earn your NIL money, you should be able to continue making money after the football career is over. UNT is small scale, but it’s got to mean something to, for example, Brelan Chancellor to come back to UNT and know he was one of the best to ever put on the green and white (and black).
  19. SEC Shorts is better than SEC football.
  20. I don’t mean this to diminish anything they accomplished, but most of their wins were against TERRIBLE teams. Edit: I’ll give you Ga. Southern and S. Alabama as not terrible teams.
  21. I thought he was pre-injury, but not sure about post-injury. Loved watching him play.
  22. If I entered the portal, I’d expect to lose the scholarship from my current school. “Hey honey, I’m leaving you for another woman, but I’m gonna go ahead and keep living here until she’s ready for me to move in.”
  23. I think a lot of it has to do with high school kids entering college as a sophomore or sometimes even a junior. Lots of dual credit classes etc. My friends daughter had her associates degree before she graduated high school.
  24. Most of them. I had to have a degree before I could get a job in my profession.
