Absolutely this. Respect to Ark. State, but it's not a "big" win when an AAC opponent comes in and defeats a Sun Belt team. This is what fuels the rivalry. More 50/50 games with heartbreak (on SMU's side) is what will push this thing to a full-blown Thanksgiving-Day-esque Safeway Bowl. Gobble gobble, bitches.

What a whiny bitch. Captains are there on and off the field, but if you can't praise someone for their growth in character after what some consider a bad judgment decision, there's no way for people to connect anymore. Have some faith, little college young'n. People grow up and change through mistakes, not successes.

Their reactions are exactly what we can expect, even from silly C-USA teams this year. This will be our biggest test (everybody knows that), but a win by any margin takes us leaps and bounds beyond the "middling G5 program" label we've been stuck with. I don't see why we can't win this game, but I also don't see why UCLA can't win this game. Only factors that make sense to me is that our offense is elite, their defense is elite. Their offense is garbage (but will score) and our defense is perfectly average (thanks to grad transfers + recruits). In the end I think it's somewhere in the 20-17 range final score.

Mason is just a classic case of what a struggling program like ours needed. After middling around for so long and not making much progress, we finally found a guy who could command respect for his abilities, and respect as a person because of his demeanor. I talk up Mason Fine pretty much every chance I get, and I'm currently in a battle with the UT sheeple here in Austin that he's the best QB in the state. They'll never admit to that, but I'm almost 100% confident that with a healthy season, he'll prove me right. GO MEAN GREEN! P.S. If you aren't ready for this season to start, I don't know what's wrong with you, but you need to fix that.
