  1. So your entire basis is that some of the other teams might be just as bad? I'm not trying to be negative, I'm being realistic that this is a rebuild.
  2. Based on what??? new coaches, new players, new system... every aspect of the game is seeing major changes.
  3. Rebuild. Lots of changes, the program got a late start to recruiting and the transfer portal, still a lot of questions and a lot of "ifs". The AAC is much tougher conference, and I dont see a lot of wins this season (2 or 3 wins).
  4. I think for the right deal they would, though it may not happen until the trade deadline. They are going to need a solid center to make a run and hardy is a piece that I think other teams will want.
  5. I think MIles got the last 2 way contract, but jelly should already have an E10. I think both Jelly and Miles at times played better then Hardy. The Mavs already have enough guards, but they need a center, so I can see Hardy being part of a trade.
  6. I am not really mad about this, the AAC is going through some restructuring and I want this conference to be as strong as possible. Going in to 23/24 I think this can be a 2-3 (maybe 4) bid conference.
  7. how does reducing scholarships punish a team if the players can still be paid?
  8. What is the Pac12 going forward? its certainly not what it once was, and it continues to trend down. sure they could spend a lot of money, but what do they get in return, other then putting a Pac12 logo on their jerseys.
  9. He left our program better then when he first joined it, cant fault him for that. anyway... hows UNT's OOC schedule looking?
  10. If there is money to be made, then they will make a deal
  11. kids and families... what about the education side? with all these transfers, are these student athletes still able to stick to a degree plan and graduate? I know most credits transfer, but degree plans can differ from school to school. I am worried that some players may sacrifice their possible educational achievements in order to play ball.
  12. I dont buy it... Last week SDSU came out and announced that they were staying in the MWC, if they were only a few days away from formally joining the PAC12 , then why make a stink of it? Colorado and Arizona still seem to think that they are headed to the big12. I dont see how anyone is offering them a deal, if membership for so many schools is still up in the air.
  13. In this era of college football, programs can not wait until after bowl season to make a coaching change. Players start looking around for new teams as soon as they are unhappy with their current team, so programs need to have their shit together prior to the transfer window opening. UNT waited to long to make a decision about 2023 and that will have cost them in recruiting, re-recruiting, and the transfer portal.
  14. I tend to agree with 3-4 wins... This program threw away their 2023 season last year when they held on to SL to long in 2022. I also agree it will take a few seasons to get this program on track to be competitive in the AAC.
  15. Its clear he intended to resign, he went through the entire process, talking to the team, the AD and sending in a letter, it was all over the media, why wait until now? some players have already entered the portal, some have already left, its a mess even if he wants to come back.
  16. Getting the DFW community interested is a good point. I met a couple people at basketball games last season that had no connection to the universities that jut came to see a good ballgame.
  17. The school needs to build back the fan base, starting with the students. I dont see enough students at games (football or basketball), even in the past when teams were not doing well I still remember seeing a larger proportion of students. I think the alumni does a good job of showing up.
  18. Seems like more then a few Pac12 schools are not happy with their potential payout from a new media deal, and if they dont get what they want then they will leave. None of the media outlets are keen to even make a deal knowing these schools are on the verge of leaving. They may have to end up using their own pac12 network and offer direct to consumer, however there are no guarantees on payouts.
  19. the Pac12 is a mess, I dont think they are close to a deal. Obviously the media deal is not going to be as good with out USC/UCLA. Colorado and Arizona seem to be heading to the Big12, thats going to impact the what ever deal the Pac12 is hoping to get.
  20. SDSU in the AAC??? According to wiki their womens rowing team already competes in the AAC, while some of there other sports compete in other conferences. For football and basketball, SDSU checks all the boxes for the AAC. Big university in a major city is going to create media attention, adds a west coast time zone which will add flexibility for media scheduling, and certainly raise the profile of the AAC. If SDSU is interested, then maybe UNLV comes along with them, and what a conference that would be
  21. going forward the Pac12 isnt any better then the MWC
  22. Absolutely teams need to be .500 in conference play to be considered for an at large. however I do think the NCAA gets the tournament mostly right.
  23. If we are just talking football, UTSA is probably going to be the most impactful of the cusa schools. The AAC is a much better football conference, and I think it will take a few seasons for the rest of the schools to be competitive. if we are talking athletics as a whole, I think UNT is entering the AAC as one of the strongest all around former cusa schools.
  24. his 4th school in as many years? does he need a waiver? did he graduate?
