  1. UCF's loss came at the hands of South Carolina in Orlando
  2. Thanks Billy! I didn't count Pegram, Berglund, and Terrell since they were here last fall redshirting, but a good catch, nonetheless
  3. Wow!! So after Coach Saban got the 1 second put back on the clock, he trots out a redshirt freshman for the 57-yarder (better leg than Cade Foster, who had already missed three FGs earlier)...it's short by about 3-4 yards and so the Auburn guy catches it and takes it back 108 yards for a TD. Down goes Bama in the battle of #1 v #4. Does this end the SEC dominance of national titles?? or does FSU or OSU screw the pooch next week and allow Auburn (or someone else) back into the picture?!? I LOVE college football! P.S. we're 8-4 and going BOWLING!!
  4. I know the answer for like 5 of the guys, but I was wondering if anyone could provide a comprehensive look at each of the members of this past class? Who never played a snap, who played a few snaps but will probably get a redshirt (Dajon), who played (Z. Evans, D. Kidsy), etc? Edit: updated with information provided in the following replies Quenton Brown Chad Davis Sed Ellis Zed Evans James Jones Chris Loving Darvin Kidsy Justin Manu Shawn McKinney Calvin Minor Sid Moore Cody Nelson Wylie Reinhardt John Schilleci Fred Scott Turner Smiley Harrison Sorge Andrew Tucker Dominick Walker Dajon Williams
  5. If you know the Section Number, Row, and specific Seats and the tickets have not been scanned into the game already (ie used) - which they can't have been used since they're 9 hours away - then the Tulsa ticket office can reprint them. In effect the re-printing deactivates the original ticket bar codes and issues new bar codes - that's why the tickets can't have been used. Since you already have a picture of the tickets, it will be really easy for you to prove to them that they're your seats. You should have ZERO problems. I bet they'll print your tickets in two seconds once you go up to their office tomorrow. If for some reason you do run into problems, seek out the North Texas Will Call at the stadium and speak to one of our ticket folks. If I were you, I wouldn't worry at all
  6. well then, I guess we should all be cheering for Mississippi State tomorrow night? Go Dogs
  7. I have long beat the drum for an indoor practice facility on S Bonnie Brae. Seeing this article made me wonder which Texas schools have and don't have indoor facility? I couldn't find a list, but schools that I know have a dedicated indoor facility are Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, TCU, and Houston. And while they're not in Texas or even our conference, the Ragin Cajuns have a pretty nice indoor facility over in Lafayette, LA. Does UTSA use the Alamodome to practice indoors? The article: http://redraiders.com/filed-online/2013-11-25/kingsbury-downplays-need-indoor-facility-ad-says-its-priority#.UpYqjc_0EtN Some snippets: - Kliff Kingsbury’s not breathing down Kirby Hocutt’s neck to build his team an indoor practice facility. The Texas Tech football coach makes it sound as if he cares little whether one ever gets constructed. - Tech has recently rekindled discussions with San Antonio architectural firm Marmon Mok to talk over size, scope and possible locations for such a facility. - Snow had to be cleared from the Jones AT&T Stadium turf before the Red Raiders practiced on Sunday. “We had a tractor out there moving it off, which took a little while yesterday, but we got it done,” Kingsbury said. “It’s been fine. It is what it is. We’ve practiced outside for a long time up here.” Kingsbury’s shrugging off a perceived need for an indoor facility is nothing new at Tech. His old coach, Mike Leach, snorted in disgust at the idea of weather influencing where his team practiced. Leach seemed to take it as a badge of toughness to be outside on the worst weather days. The last three years, it was much the opposite. Tommy Tuberville, who was sensitive to weather effects on his team’s preparation, tried to push an indoor workout facility up the priority list. He favored building an indoor workout facility over one of the team’s two existing practice fields, adjoining the Red Raiders’ football building and weight room.
  8. Not much. I was able to cross-match several maps, including this one: http://www.tulsahurricane.com/ghc/parking-maps.html#link from what I've gathered, it appears the Red, Green, and possibly White lots are cash lots. There appears to be a shuttle that picks up between the two Green lots on 5th street, so I'm thinking I'll start there. I might scope it out the night before
  9. I went to Tulsa's website 5 minutes ago to look up parking, and the landing page is advertising "buy one get one free" for our game. Looks like you can buy 2 endzone tickets for a grand total of $17.50 and just move over. I already purchased official NT tickets last month, but it's just a thought for any of you looking to go a bit cheaper. Mean Green section is 108, but I plan on moving to 105-106 A link for anyone looking for the deal: http://www.tulsahurricane.com/
  10. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/89142/big-ten-bowl-projections-week-13-5 all 4 ESPN writers/bloggers/bowl "experts" now agree...the B1G will have 2 BCS teams. This will leave us with a non-power conference team in the HOD. I know a lot of us want HOD, but I want to play a "major" team. Since Liberty is out now, I would love it if we could go to D.C. and play an ACC team in the Military Bowl. Count me in for attendance. However, if the HOD replaces the B1G with a Pac12 or ACC team then I'm back on board the HOD train BCS bids by league: B1G - 2 SEC - 2 ACC - 2 Big12 - 1 Pac12 - 1 AAC - 1 NIU or Fresno St - 1
  11. Rose Bowl Presented by VIZIO, Jan. 1: Ohio State Capital One Bowl, Jan. 1: Michigan State Outback Bowl, Jan. 1: Wisconsin Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, Dec. 28: Nebraska TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl, Jan. 1: Michigan Texas Bowl, Dec. 27: Minnesota Heart of Dallas Bowl, Jan. 1: Iowa Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, Dec. 26: Not filled
  12. because the HOD bowl representative today might not have been convinced that tens of thousands of alums might go to the bowl game, much less hundreds of thousands. It might very well be cold with precipitation on a New Years Day morning... they have no way of knowing that almost a month in advance. If we only draw 14-16k for a home finale Senior Day game where there's a chance to clinch the West Division, then who is to say we fill the Cotton Bowl for the HOD game. While I think the HOD is still satisfied to pick us following our Rice/UTEP games, I do have a tinge of doubt now. In my previous post, I did start the sentence with "If they pass us for Rice." I don't necessarily think it will happen, I just think it is a definite possibility that they might This is not meant to be negative, but since the internet lacks context it might be taken that way. ...on a day when we lost to UTSA, nothing would surprise me (ie. HOD passing us over for Rice)
  13. we won't get passed over. C-USA has 6 bowl tie-ins, with 6 bowl eligible teams. 7 if/when FAU beats FIU next week, and 8 counting UTSA (provisional). A bowl CAN"T skip us for UTSA and won't skip us for FAU. we're safe. However, the possibility of getting shipped to Hawaii might've increased tonight. Say ECU (or even Marshall) wins out and beats Rice (who beats Tulane next week) in the championship game, I see the bowls going like this: Liberty -ECU Military- Marshall Cotton - Rice Hawaii - North Texas St. Pete - MTSU New Orleans - Tulane I'f Cotton passes us over for Rice, then I hope St. Pete grabs us. I'd rather go there than Hawaii. Also, I don't think New Orleans passes on Tulane, plus I heard we've already communicated with CUSA that we do not want to go to the N.O. to play a former Sun Belt foe. I know this has gotten wordy, but if Rice were to win the conference championship and go to the Liberty Bowl then we'd go to the Cotton Bowl (Heart of Dallas).
  14. did we really win the 2nd set 25-1?? that's a butt whoopin!
  15. seems highly inappropriate staff, please delete thread
  16. please don't do that to the Pistons, emmitt
  17. I see him being drafted. LB's are always stockpiled during the draft, especially the late rounds. Teams won't want to pass him up late and miss on such a sure thing. His dad playing ten years in the league won't hurt his prospects at all, either Craig Robertson's success can only help his chances to ending our drought by being drafted Does anyone have ESPN Insider? I'm curious to know what they or any other draft boards say... http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/players/_/letter/o/draftyear/2014
  18. heard it from a reliable source that sales are relatively slow and less than 500 students have picked up tickets, well behind UTEP and Idaho. A quick look at ticketmaster shows quantity in the sections that are listed. When I was at the ticket office Monday morning, I bought some additional tickets located in 103 and the section was around 70% empty. If all of these are true, then it boggles my mind. Why wouldn't fans and students be turning out en masse?
  19. Maybe it's just me, but I find it amusing that two people that have stoked this UTSA fire the most are UNT90 and meangreener, and now they are backing out. UNT90, you have no reason not to join. As you've stated on another thread, and I'm paraphrasing..."Vegas should've set the line at UNT-30". Since we're gonna win by 31, you're nothing but a trophy that the birds will never bag. I only say this because your continued condescending stance and comments towards UTSA show that you notice them. I agree that Rice is the desired conference rival, but I've also remained completely out of most of these UTSA threads. I don't consider them a rival, so I don't even check out most of these threads. My curiosity got the best of me when I saw the thread hit 5 pages. On another note, Mr. Walker...do you have the same handle over on "the Parliament" (Rice board)
  20. headed to Tulsa for some Mean Green football
  21. you should take out a second mortgage and go crazy. I suggest making a very large bet on the game with that kind of confidence. Like stealing candy from a baby
  22. I'm not a good February watcher. I don't really follow recruiting, I just see the signees and rankings after signing day every year. I saw the following tweet by ESPN's Big 12 journalist, and I figured someone on here could shed some light Jake Trotter Shock Linwood's offer list out of high school: Ark St., N. Texas, UTSA, TCU // Devin Chafin's: Colo. St., N. Texas interest only These were the two Baylor RB's that ran for 100+ each last night. 1) is this saying that both of these two walked on at Baylor originally instead of taking a scholly offer? 2) Does anyone remember their recruitment and if either was close to signing with us?
