  1. good thoughts. My one disagreement would be on UTSA. I always hope every team on our schedule wins every other game except the game against us. This makes our victories more impressive. The only exception to this is rivalries. I always want my rivals to lose every game, no matter what, but UTSA is NOT our rival
  2. don't mind UNT90... between him and reputation, most new posters are introduced to a negative gmg pretty quickly (how the former is leading in the latter is beyond me). stick around for awhile and you'll see most of the gang isn't that way. "if you want to shed light into the dark, you focus on the solutions not the problems." If you don’t like something, change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.
  3. ...only 174 hours away
  4. yeah, blue is victory hall. Several of the tailgating central pins can be found in that lot come early, stay late
  5. bump. in exactly 10 days I'll already be in my seats ready for a Mean Green kickoff in beautiful Apogee Stadium!! Hope to see you all there. Time to start 1-0 boys
  6. received mine today. I like the parking spot
  7. you're right. I see Tulane now. But what about Marshall? why would we be playing Tulsa twice and not the Thundering Herd at all?
  8. couldn't find this topic anywhere on the basketball board, and I didn't want to start a new thread... hey Harry, do you think we really play Tulsa twice? or do you believe that's a typo on our website? I noticed we have a home-and-home with Tulsa (Jan 29 and Feb 22), but we don't play Tulane. My guess is that it's a typo, but if not, that's very interesting
  9. I like it. Get a perennial top 15 team in the Pit and several gimme wins. That's what I like to see. Hopefully it all sets up for a winning season for our Mean Green
  10. I think it depends on how many is a "bunch". If I'm not mistaken, the wing is the same price no matter what, but last year we got a couple of dollars of per person when I brought my small group and their families with me for the Arkansas State game because we qualified as a group....which I think is 15+
  11. talk about living in the past...the Rose Bowl?? seriously? I don't tend to talk mess about TCU because I think Coach Patterson is a great coach and a guy who truly tries to mold young men for their life beyond Amon G. Carter. However, the man did ask you for a prediction, and all you suggested was winning the Big 12. With how down that conference is, 9-3 could easily do the trick. So give us an actual prediction
  12. I feel like this tweet probably belongs here too. Can't wait to get em http://instagram.com/p/cw-EOTw62I/# @@MeanGreenSports
  13. while it might not be a "part time" job. There are loads of people who would gladly do it for free. If getting a free education is not for you then become a professional something else when you graduate high school. Noone forces high school athletes to become college athletes. In some ways, I see college athletics as a form of internship. I served two internships, and was paid for neither, while going to school. I was paying 100% for my schooling while working two jobs. College athletes are given a wonderful opportunity to earn a degree of their choice and come out on the other end with zero debt. They are also provided the amazing privilege of playing the sport they love for at least 4-5 more years. If at any point it's no longer fun and they'd rather get a job, then stop playing. As an aside, I saw a lot of athletes who seemed to have way more free time than a good number of my working friends while we were in school. And despite working a full time job as an athlete, nary a week goes by without some college athlete getting into a lot of trouble for doing something that is usually the product of having too much time on their hands. Nick Florence is an excellent example of a young man who took advantage of getting an education at a good university, not quite as good as our own university of course, but still a good one. I'm also always amazed by athletes such as RG3, Andrew Luck, Colt McCoy, Stephen McGee, and our Derrick Thompson that go on and start working towards a master's degree while still in school. That's how you take advantage of a university and get paid. Earn a degree that has the potential for $3 million over its lifetime, free of charge
  14. some delusional fans on baylor's message board are talking about conference realignment and our school has been name dropped a few times, including this gem: http://www.baylorfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258872 I'm not interested in starting new handles on other school's message boards, but I know some of our posters do enjoy getting in some good smack talk. Just wanted to leave this here if anyone's interested in defending our honor
  15. WHAT?!? Every time I look at the divisions, I consider the East to be the inferior side. What gives? Am I taking crazy pills? Tulsa is probably the best and they reside in the West, Rice is possibly the hottest, and they reside in the West. LaTech usually has some salty teams and should have a really explosive offense despite losses on both the roster and coaching staff. In the East, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, and UAB are gimme wins whereas the only gimme in the West is UTSA, and I think the roadrunners are going to be better than Atlantic and UAB. True, UTEP and North Texas are probably considered less than par by other teams in the east, but we know that we're better than the Florida's and UAB without a doubt. we're gonna beat muts this year too and southern miss
  16. when I went in to buy LaTech tix, they just had a bunch of posters sitting on the counter (as usual). I took 5...and I had a feeling I could take more. Plus there are cups too. You know I'm sipping sweet tea out of my 2013 North Texas cup right now. Emmitt did a great job organizing this last year. I saw posters everywhere

  18. count me in the group of those in favor of an indoor facility before baseball. An indoor facility is a necessary enhancement to the crown jewel of the athletic department. For those worried about space, the indoor facility doesn't have to be a full field. I have seen a few places where the indoor facility is only, say, 60 yards long. I'm sure it would go perfectly where the west practice field is currently situated. If not, then perhaps we sacrifice a fraction of the the victory hall lots. Maybe we can re-route that parking lot road a little bit to accomodate our new structure.
  19. count me in, +3. Bought my tickets today from the ticket office
  20. that national anthem WAS awful...i was just standing there stunned...and then i was even more stunned when more than 50% of the crowd started applauding I was given a green parking pass along with my club tickets, both of which were specifically marked for tonight's event. I was under the impression that the green lots were supposed to be reserved for season ticket holders as well, but since you specify "at the end", I'm assuming they kept the lots reserved originally. If you didn't get there in plenty of time to claim your spot, then that's on you
  21. if you don't want to walk far, stop by the stadium store. It's only like 40 feet from parking to entrance. I browsed around a bit today and chatted with CJ. He said they expected even more stuff soon
  22. ...according to Sporting News: 7.
