  1. I think it is a programming deal that calculates revenue/coaches/etc by sport and not the gender so it would likely say men's and women's soccer too, even though we only have women's.
  2. I'm sorry/sad to hear that. Thank you for the info Rick.
  3. I figured out why they stopped in Austin.
  4. Way off on Dickey but @meangreen11 was right about SMUg. Little did they know, Dickey would be fired just 6.5 months later. Yes and no. Nailed it. 3-9 but damn close. On a more real note, has @MeanGreen61 passed on?
  5. So if Lovelace said, "Hey, I'm interested in building you guys an indoor practice facility and I want to see the best to come along in the last few years. You guys want to hop on my private jet so we can look at what my money can buy?" FFR would say, "No thanks, but if you want to pile up in a sweet passenger van, we can drive down to Waco and College Station."? The answer is NO, FFR would/should not say that! The correct response is, "When do we board the plane sir?".
  6. Build football, MBB, and WBB into conference champions before diverting resources to baseball.
  7. A fair point but if I remember correctly, I don't believe we beat many, if any, 5-win teams during the Dickey reign.
  8. Dickey beat 9 FBS teams with at least 6 wins in 9 years. If I had done bowl teams, I'm sure it would've been fewer wins than 9. All of the #s above are based solely on a team's win/loss record and not if they actually were invited to a bowl game. For example, if I were doing this analysis for another team, say 2001 Colorado State, North Texas would not have been included as we only reached 5 wins. By my metrics, we were not bowl-eligible even though we were technically a bowl team.
  9. Looks like they are running a bit behind today. Maybe weather?
  10. You da boss. Austin, huh? I may just have to make a stroll by UT tomorrow. Well never mind, they won't get there til almost 7pm. After looking at the flight schedule, I'm wondering how they expect to get on the ground, in a car, onto I-35 in rush hour to UT, tour UT athletic facilities, and get back onto the plane for a takeoff 1hr and 6min later.
  11. @Mike Jackson I'm not trying to piss on Dickey. He has done some good things at Memphis and at North Texas beat teams he should have beat for 4 out of his 9 seasons here. I'm saying I don't think he was a great coach. He was extremely lucky to have the Sun Belt fall in his lap. If North Texas is in the Big West again for 2001, Darrell Dickey is coaching somewhere else in 2002. Period. He has a career losing record. He sandwiched his bowl years with 2 and 3 win seasons. His conference record was 34-22 with a 26 consecutive game win streak when the Sun Belt showed up. He had 3 winning seasons in 9 years for crying out loud. He was only good at beating schools a half step above FCS. He should not be mentioned in the same category as Odus Mitchell and Hayden Fry because he isn't anywhere near the coach they were.
  12. Something to note, our new lb coach was with the ASU wr coach at La Tech for 3 years so we may have some good insight on the kid.
  13. Maybe they are upping Littrell's salary to what it was supposed to be before he took a pay cut to get better assistants.
  14. Nah, I didn't take it that way. I was just admitting I was wrong.
  15. I stand corrected. I got that based off another thread.
  16. I did a little research and the earliest complaint I can find is that Nebraska snatched quarterback Zac Taylor from us at the last minute. He has 2 sons but I do not know the ages.
  17. I like this one. He was Ruffin's DL coach and Ruffin knows the DL.
  18. I'm wondering if folks thought he was HOF-worthy back then.
  19. How does a division 1 team shoot below 50% from the FT line?
  20. I don't think Darius Terrell was given an opportunity to be successful. In '13, the lion's share of the passes went to Brelan and Darnell Smith. In '14, there were 80 fewer completions to go around but he was still our 2nd leading receiver behind Mini's favorite target.
