  1. Like when Mac wanted to start one qb and Chico another?
  2. I will be very interested to see what happens if Littrell and Harrell disagree on who should top the depth chart.
  3. This is GD foolish for them not to make an attempt. Is the staff aware that he has family that is a big NT supporter? I'd tweet at the staff but don't have access til monday.
  4. Great point Plumm but none of the 15 were still around for the HOD bowl, the last of them had their eligibility expire after the '12 season. The driving force behind the HOD was the 2010 class that had ZERO 3-stars and was ranked 117th in the land but included 2 future NFL stars.
  5. His first 3 seasons were equally bad. If the Big West continues in 2001 as it did in 2000, Dickey is fired at season's end and it is all a moot point. Also, please do not forget how painful it was to watch a game in 2006. RV HAD to fire Dickey, there was too much bad blood between his staff and the fanbase by that point. The offense had become one of the worst in D1. We had to endure a 7-OT game with a terrible FIU team (who would end up 0-12 that season) because nobody could freaking score in OT. The score was 16-16 through regulation and 9-6 through 7 overtimes. Do you realize how pathetic a team has to be to get only 9 points in 7 overtime periods?? I would fire Dickey again everyday of the week and twice on Saturdays. He had a good run but had more than worn out his welcome by the time he was shown the door. Dodge was a mistake, an overswing of the pendulum if you will. He was the anti-Dickey to the point that we became the best high school team in America. The only problem was, we were playing college football and got smashed every week. He was great at rah, rah, schmoozing donors, and connecting with HS coaches, but he just wasn't ready to run a real college program at that time.
  6. He should be fine come fall. May still not be 100% for spring, we'll see. The injury he suffered doesn't make it impossible to throw, just ridiculously painful to the point where you'd have trouble maintaining accuracy and velocity because of the fear of pain.
  7. One of the things Littrell said about Pearson is that he can "hold hats". Could one of you more well-versed in coach talk fill me in on what he is referring to?
  8. Dynamic on offense, aggressive on defense. I love this kid.
  9. I can't think of a better example of what I want a NT recruit to be and a HUGE THUMBS UP to his running backs coach the one and only PATRICK COBBS!!
  10. Hell, just his endorsement of the program is worth way, way, more than any monetary donation he could give.
  11. You missed the point. If he can recruit every class to play like the 2010 class, regardless of ranking, we will always have a 2013 caliber senior class. That means 9 wins every season, not just one surrounded by losing years. I'm talking about hitting on a '10 class every year.
  12. So you are saying that 9 win seasons are not acceptable? You are saying that you wouldn't take a class stocked full of all-conference players and NFL prospects? Performance be damned, we only care about the dog and pony show of a prospect ranking system and how good we should be on paper?
  13. 247 stats go back to 2003 so "ever" is from 2003 to present. According to 247 sports, our highest ranked and rated class ever was 2008. We were 57th in the nation with a rating of .8012 and 15 3-stars(our most ever). Our top commit was .8667 rated Nate Jenkins. Notable players included: Jenkins, Riley Dodge, Troy Franklin, James Hamilton, Royce Hill, Dawaylon Cook, Lance Dunbar, Coleman Feeley, and Brandon Akpunku, Our lowest ranked class ever was 2010. We were 117th in the nation with a rating of .7636 with zero 3-stars(our fewest ever). Our top commit was .7915 rated Zach Olen(our lowest top commit ever). Notable players included: Olen, Antonio Johnson, Mason Y'Barbo, Zach Orr, Brandin Byrd, Brelan Chancellor, Will Wright, Jamize Olawale, and Richard Abbe, Our lowest rated class ever was 2011 with a rating of .7094 and we ranked 106th in the nation. We had 1 3-star who was the top commit, Freddie Warner was rated .8099. Notable players included: Derek Akunne, Aaron Bellazin, Antoinne Jimmerson, Lairamie Lee, Chad Polk, Cyril Lemon, Andrew Power, and Marcus Smith(a greyshirt from the 2010 class). Our highest rated commit ever was in 2016 when William Johnson signed with a rating of .8707. I understand correllation very well but I'd put the 2010 class up against the 2008 class with no reservations. Did the 15 3-stars play better than the pure 2-star class of '10? Nope. We had our Frank Wilson, the problem is, he didn't have the right coaches in place until it was too late. That was a failure our AD. If Littrell can get recruits to play at the same level as the 2010 class, I will take the 117th ranking every day of the week.
  14. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/texas-tech-football-recruiting-receiver-nate-shelton-signs-loi-020117
  15. I've heard from Tech folk that KP told a recruit who wanted to commit not to,to wait and visit first. He came on a visit and saw the knife fight and did not commit after that. Some were upset about the line of thinking there. I saw nothing about Red Raider recruiting or DLine play this year that made me miss KP at all. Tommy Perry, I might miss. KP, don't miss at all.
  16. I'm not defensive. I gave facts. HOD depth chart lists Morris or Fine as starter with Shanbour as #2. That is the most up-to-date. Fine is the incumbent starter. It is also well known that Littrell is very high on Mason Fine as a person, qb or not. Just watch the guy talk about Mason(even yesterday talking with Dave Barnett) and you'll see. I'm well aware of your position on Fine but to say he will not start one game for us in 2017 is purely a guess at this point. I got my posts mixed up, I didn't create this thread so ignore that last post.
  17. Because you don't want him to be? Because you have facts to back this up? Until a new depth chart comes out with the new guys on it, our incumbent starter is Mason Fine and his backup is Quinn Shanbour. Maybe that will change by September but it hasn't yet and Littrell loves him some Mason Fine.
  18. I wouldn't count the Houston guys but I don't see why Sanders and Pearson wouldn't count. I'm on the fence with Guyton since he is an Allen guy.
  19. Mullens was rated just slightly higher than Fine but really it's a wash. http://247sports.com/Player/Nick-Mullens-14725?Institution=5860 http://247sports.com/Player/Mason-Fine-78299?Institution=18609
  20. Curious, did we get anything out of #bEAST Texas now that Perry is gone?
