  1. Thank you for that. I didn't realize Johnathan Gray's father was a big time back at Tech
  2. Never heard of James Gray (other than ours) or Anthony Lynn. I've never heard of Bam Morris' son either. Did all three kids have offers from Tech?
  3. Tech lock, can't blame him for following in the old man's footsteps.
  4. http://247sports.com/Player/Jaquayln-Crawford-89741 Pretty safe Texas lock
  5. You doubled up @UNTLifer. You put T-New's 247 again. You mean this link http://247sports.com/Player/Nicholas-Bolton-77867. Offers from BC, LaTech, and us. 3-star.
  6. Powerful kid, would be dominating. We HAVE to find a way to get him to Denton. Get out there and like his offer tweet, maybe it doesn't help but it certainly doesn't hurt when we turn out in numbers showing we love the kid being offered by our staff.
  7. I believe it is based on the highest 5 years not the final 5 years. He could collect his LSU check over the next several years while acquiring more TRS service credit, he could even purchase credit for the time he was at LSU if he wanted. Right now I believe his 5yr average would be around $400k. Once his LSU buyout is paid out, we could make the decision whether we'd want to keep him and pay him in the $500k range or let him go.
  8. Just a question, but if we were to bring back JJ, would we be able to pay him like $20k/year and just let him collect the LSU buyout? Leaving extra money for basketball assistants or maybe another sport's athletic budget? Hint, hint.
  9. Did they take down the interactive seating chart where you could view the field from that section? I can't seem to find it.
  10. $20 says It is Reno, any takers? https://www.google.com/maps/@39.5240685,-119.8145566,3a,75y,224.14h,86.46t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sx4aEPauOtYlKBXv40lcDng!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1?hl=en Nevada Wolf Pack
  11. Come on Vito, please tell me you aren't serious. You of all people should've known that it was Reffett teaching the 3-3-5 to Ekeler who had never coached it before.
  12. From the horse himself. http://www.texastech.com/news/2016/2/3/Texas_Tech_Announces_Spring_Football_Game_Spring_Practice_Dates.aspx I think the article just says a spring football game, not THE spring football game.
  13. Yes, this is true and let's not pretend that NT really stepped up to get a larger assistant pool, Littrell intentionally took a smaller salary to increase his assistant pool. It is time for our Athletic Department to repay that good faith and step up the assistant pool and recruiting budget.
  14. Their "spring game" is still in Lubbock. They have "spring scrimmages" the 2 prior Saturdays in Frisco and Midland. I don't want the official Spring Game moved from Denton either.
  15. It is rare that I get a guess right but I get to puff my chest on this one.
  16. I believe they were co-champs in '08 when they beat Texas on the Crabtree catch and then went on to get blown out by OU(who was beaten by Texas). 3 1-loss teams and OU got the bowl nod because they were ranked highest.
  17. Texas Tech is having a spring day there, essentially a scrimmage (like they have in Midland each year) prior to the official spring game, the spring game is still in Lubbock. These 3 are held on consecutive Saturdays and it seems to me that spring football should be more about getting better than getting out there. Maybe that is part of the reason this will likely be Kliff's last year in Lubbock. Our partnership with the Cowboys goes beyond the Star. I doubt very seriously that Tech having a scrimmage in Frisco is going to put more eyes on them than our advertising with the Cowboys. Frisco is close enough to where it makes almost no sense to have a scrimmage there. Tech however, saves some of their fans a 5 hour drive. It would make more sense for us to have a scrimmage in Houston, San Antonio, Midland/Odessa, or Tyler/Longview than 30-40 minutes down the road.
