So do offers from TxState and ULaLa qualify as a good recruit or no?

I'm sure he has a bunch of canaries in his ears telling him he is too good for little ol' North Texas. I hope at the end of it all he blows them off and decides that we are the best program for him despite the perception of some others. We need to change that perception and consistent winning is the only way to do that.

Because as you can read from this board, we are not fans of single offer kids. Maybe he wants to pad his offer list so some around here will accept him as a "good" recruit.

Maybe he is just trying to get extra offers to get some of y'all to quit whining about us recruiting guys with no offers.

Tell that to guys like Ladarius Hamilton, Rico Bussey, Khari Muhammad, and Tyler Wilson. Just because we were the only ones smart enough to offer a player doesn't make them FCS level players. This class we lost a couple to UH on signing day but we had two more just as good in our back pocket. These coaches have shown (based on their first class) that they can evaluate talent very well. I was impressed with the number of players that Littrell got on such short notice that were able to make an impact.

Our history would say 3-9 but with the talent we have and Reffett calling the defense, I just can't see us winning fewer than 5 games and for that reason I will also say 7-5.

Don't forget their choirboy heisman candidate quarterback that got caught running from the cops. Rest assured if that had been Manziel the media would still be talking about it. Mayfield makes a weak speech and bang, back to starting quarterback without penalty.

Evan Robertson should be ahead of at least Mosley and probably Hamilton.

Pegram should not be in the top five NT backs of all time period. I was thinking the Haynes and Renfro positioning was based on their pro careers but maybe not. I didn't realize that both were all Americans. I will say that our program had a much different perception nationally in 1951 than it does today. if Cobbs and Thomas weren't first team all-Americans in 2003-2004, it's never gonna happen for us again.

High on the list sure but not at the top. I get he faced a lot of difficulties of the Jackie Robinson variety but just like Robinson, that doesn't make him the best player to ever play his position.

Don't forget Olawale, he is having a nice career with the Raiders. Why not throw Stone Cold in there too since he played a fullback in The Longest Yard remake? Sometimes you guys make me wonder if you take these lists seriously. Is this a list of the top running back careers at North Texas or a popularity/NFL career contest?

I think @Brett Vito got this one right. Cobbs is the best North Texas has had. Sure he was doing good during the bowl years but despite the atrocity of the 2005 team's offense, he still went for over 1100 yards. There were 8 in the box on every play that season and he still led the Belt in rushing. Also, the list is best Mean Green running back so let's not use the Brian Waters rule and pull in NFL careers.

Well said @BTG_Fan1. Not only are we battling our conference mates but also how we are perceived by recruits and their advisors. We've been bad for pretty much all of those people's lives. Seth Littrell is recruiting against Skip Holtz and Frank Wilson, but also the ghosts of Todd Dodge and Dan McCarney.

Let's see if the results improve now that's we lost 3 of those piss-poor recruiters from the past couple seasons. It a good thing we passed those problems onto those resource-poor P5 programs. Haha. They have no idea how far south their recruiting is about to go.

Cheating? So far not known. Ethical? Probably not. You all seem to forget that their top rated recruit from the 2017 class is currently under 1st degree felony indictment. I'll take Seth's way over Frank's way all day everyday.

Fair enough. Just keep in mind that LaTech was the west division champ this past year, has 3 straight 9-win seasons and 3 straight bowl wins. They aren't exactly the dregs of the conference. The other schools you listed I agree should not beat us for a recruit.
