I’m having trouble digesting four bids to the MWC. I think they should get 3 and CUSA 2. We have a media who like our coach. We pulled one of the best upsets of the season last year. I’ll be excited to keep on playing but I really want this team to get a chance at one of the 64. They would give a team fits much like la tech did to us yesterday. we’re gonna have fun period. GMG

Build it Grant. You saw the possibilities this season. You can actually take UNT on a run to the Final Four. More Mean Green fun to come. GMG

I love how this team fights until the end. Utep was very excited it had a couple of extra points laying around or it could have been a truly rocking comeback in the desert. I second that let’s take a chainsaw to Frisco and let it rip! GMG

You could say the same about the MWC. They waited too long to expand and missed out on Texas programs us included. I feel the MWC and PAC 12 are locked in. Teams want to move east more than west. Leadership helped us get into a good landing spot. GMG

Wait. Didn’t someone say losing would regain our focus? I don’t know. I am glad the guys played to the end, but we were due for an L. That defense will not get us through. Need to be frustrating on D☺️

I’m so happy for BYU. Their new league is going to be amazing on the basketball front: Kansas, BYU, Okie State, Iowa State, TCU, Baylor, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, Houston. Kansas State and UCF may be the only dogs in that league. For football they automatically begin the Big Dog in the small pond, much like they conquered and dominated their way in the WAC and MWC. They will get the prestige to rival Utah out west and get away from Gonzaga. It’s all good for Cougar Nation. BYU GMG

Having followed closely the New Mexico Lobos and their storied program their dream is Sweet 16. They haven’t been able to crack that nut. If our Mean Green can do it that would be spectacular! It’s a tall order. Let’s beat UTSA, finish strong and win the tourney! GMG

Such a weird thread. I was going to say that the Maniacs are definitely going to be a Force this fall. They are growing in number bringing mad energy and the student section looks good when it rocks. I don’t like the MF thing but they’re kids I don’t sing it. They’re call my call. I do hope my friends I tag along don’t hear it or put it together. They’re not prudes just SEC fans and they don’t sully up Rockytop or their fight song. again love the Maniacs and thank you for intensifying the energy this season make it happen in the fall! The SuperPit needs to be relegated to graduations and other events. It’s been a great venue dripping with history. But the new venue needs to have modern amenities including a beer garden, jack daniels club, current eats and natural light. See Q2 stadium in Austin. It needs to rival anything the Big 12 will build in the future, Texas is hoops land now. Create a venue in the rich Metroplex that people will come to for fun win lose suck or be great. GMG

Bringing two LSU fans to their first Mean Green basketball 🏀 game. They and I are so excited. GMG

The gym was rough but it was loud. The band rocked the beats and because it was so small they got the crowd into this swaying chant which was pretty cool. Again easy when I could reach across the court and slap you. This win took some sting out of that trip to FAU for the football championship. The owls are pretty good and they have a battle with MTSU while we have our showdown in BHAM on Saturday. Living in Mountain West Country for many years I watched a lot of Steve Fisher defense at San Diego state. It was smothering, frustrating and wreaked havoc on UNLV’s rhythmic offense. That is what our Mean Green do. it is awesome to watch. FAU rushed several shots just because they finally got an open look only to see it rim in and pop out. Deflation sighs poured from the crowd. Meanwhile the Mean Green didn’t flinch - steady, focused, determined. It was so awesome to watch in person. beat UAB GMG

The Maniacs are very similar to the supporters sections in soccer. Stand the whole game, chant, heckle, dance, fat heads, smoke machines, yell leaders band integration. Oh man keep it going MGM. GMG

The monster the Big boys are creating will come back and eat their own. The fact that Kiffin in the SEC is voicing concerns is great. It means those low level programs even in the big conferences realize they are about to get purged. That big pool that sits below most SEC programs half the Big 10 and a few programs west of the state of Arkansas is who we need to be aligning with in our future league. It will be competitive fan friendly and interesting for the followers. I could see us in a league with Houston Oklahoma state Texas Tech Kansas Kansas state Mississippi Mississippi state Memphis Missouri Colorado Arizona Arizona State. Not necessarily these exact programs but this tier. In the interim let’s launch into the American and get to know our new conference mates. Kick some tail and win on exit from CUSA. Venson speaks the truth. Thank you twins for the cheers through the years but these men have been praised and given allowances all the way back through their Friar years. Always wish my Black & White and Mean Green fellow alums success. Excited to see PB assemble players that will crush through walls for him - open to learning coaching and growth. Not saying the twins didn’t and weren’t these things but could see how they might not have been. Play up and let’s have another good run and more fun in ‘22. GMG

No way Seth gets more years for a 7 win season in 2022. Seth has run his course in Denton but we have to be partners this year. Even if Seth pulls off a UTSA run he doesn’t get extended. It’s a marriage of convenience at this point. Its one more year. Balls out and get us into a New Year’s Day six game or go bowling in Frisco again or just beat smu and UTSA. 2022 is the epitome of a transition year with new coach in waiting I believe. if Seth exits on an upbeat note meaning championship and bowl win we’ll all have a good Christmas. Looks like Timmy Chang is coming home to right the ship. Not a bad hire. He will invite the culture to help him rebuild the program unlike the nightmare that was TG. When I moved to Hawaii I came off the plane from Texas a guns a blazing. The first thing my boss did was send me to leadership island style workshops. All of us mainlanders learned a lot which helped us be successful. TG obviously fought the culture and they scooted him right out of town. Good luck Timmy Chang! Some of my greatest memories at aloha stadium involved watching him and the late Colt Brennan play. Go Bows GMG
