So much dread in this thread. immediately we must move to a pro business model. Is our current leadership cut from this cloth? Does he have what it takes to create a high performance team that generates interest and investment from the community, alumni and sponsors? Is there a major sponsor out there? The way Manchester City went from an also ran club to one of the top 4 teams in Europe, with Saudi money, is that investor out there? SMU does not pay any of my commitments. They have no control over me or UNT. This is a business game now and we need a sports CEO at the helm. They are out there as are millionaire and billionaires in our neighborhood. Forever loser squads have turned the tide. Fortune favors the proactive, stout, influencing executive that takes the reins and ignite continuous improvement action. GMG

He would be well served to come in and preempt the PAC before they begin their poach. Make contingency when we lose Tulane South Florida Rice Memphis to the new ACC. Need the future AAC to be stronger than the ACC MWC PAC Sun Belt MAC and CUSA. Climb and build relationships with Big 12 players. We’ve got some basketball schools to do that with and with solid football additions this could be a good goal. GMG

I love SMU trying to throw shade at a superior basketball program. They are not even in our league I don’t understand this thread. I don’t see Texas State, Baylor, A&M or UTEP updates. Good luck with your hire. Ready to see the Mean Green grow this offseason. GMG

Me too. I infuse my level of enjoyment into the equation. And I would say really look forward to heading to Denton, and watching them on tv and in Fort Worth. Didn’t make an away game this year but I like the style of play. They played hard and to the end. It was a bunch of new guys and a learning coach. Proud of this team. Thank you Mean Green! GMG

This respect is happening as a result of culture that has formed around this sport in our university. It’s so exciting. Dickies is great but that attendance was horrific. Put the tournament in Nashville. There has to be a second arena to the SEC location. Vegaa has 4 tournaments happening! MWC PAC 12 WCC and WAC. They might even have the Big West! Or Put it in Memphis and change the court. UNLV hasn’t been able to win the tournament on their home court if at all. But you pick the best city location people want to play in and to me Nashville gets the nod. Or New Orleans on Tulane’s floor. Heck San Antonio would have had more fans. Fort Worth is not a draw despite the great venue. Comerica in Frisco would at least have entertainment options closer. I wish legacy East/West had an arena if we kept it local. The Star was fun but the venue horrible. Nashville please. GMG

Watching this Temple team is fun. They make a game helter skelter. They might give FAU fits if they pull this off over Charlotte. We know that Dusty will work those refs and slow this game down with continuous parades to the line. Would Temple ever go or go back to the Big East? They have a wicked East Coast feel in their fanbase. It’s fun. Hope to make that trek there this fall. GMG

May looks like good fit for Michigan. And yes we need teams in our league to be good and sharpen each other’s saws. San Antonio needs to step up because they would bring fans to Fort Worth. How long are we at Dickies? I love it but if we ever move it, it should go to New Orleans. GMG

I enjoyed this season too. I didn’t watch a lot in person early but quickly grew to love this team’s personality. They fought to the end. I too think we could get an invite. We’re a bubble for sure but this team is a fun watch. I like how Ross sped up our play and made us very entertaining this year. Entertainment product A! Season B. Let’s grow and learn how to take those close games. p.s. - watching Temple and Charlotte. These refs have swallowed their whistles. Such a differently called game. No flop whistles no Banging under the basket whistles. I can’t tell who is going to win this but I lean Charlotte and their finesse. But FAU mucks it up and that’s been successful for them. We almost got them 3 times this year. Grabbing the close wins is NEXT. GMG

I bet Steve Lutz gets a look. Watching his Hilltoppers beat up middle right now. He got WKU to 20 wins in year one. Is from San Antonio and won some Southland titles at TAMU-CC. Coached at incarnate Word seems to have good Texas ties GMG

I tend to think this is a good looking job for the right candidate. 1. Good league. 2. San Antonio is a basketball starved city with the Spurs stinking right now. 3. no other major sports leagues to compete with. 4. high basketball IQ town. 5. The expectation bar is low right now. 6. Get to move to live in Texas. GMG

I’m wondering if the philosophy will change in the type of programs that could be invited to the AAC with the new Commish. If so, you would think App State La Tech Coastal Texas State JMU and USA could be possibilities. I still think San Diego State Oregon State and Washington State could still end up in the 12 and that will make for some really juicy targets for the American. Right now, separate, build the American. GMG

I love the mountain west. League games are a blast. Their markets are big supporters, huge supporters in the case of Albuquerque and San Diego. UNLV rocks when they are good. Boise CSU Nevada and Utah State have figured out to get good. I feel this coming in the AAC. Brought on believe it or not by the former CUSA members. We had a nice turnout in Fort Worth tonight. When UTSA figures it out they will bring a nice contingent to Cowtown. Charlotte UAB and FAU need to keep building. Wichita State and Memphis need consistency. Tonight I tasted a bit of our future in this league. It was fun. Beat FAU GMG

Serious question though: when you see that thing roll out don’t some of you wonder if it is going to work this time? That means there is a pattern or trend. I was shocked a few games back when it worked and shot a t-shirt directly to me up high. I was expecting just smoke and walhaa a t- shirt flew out. Now can we get new branded sweepers that work for next season? Also, whoever leads those kids sweeping up the sweat, put a little hustle into them.
