  1. Word play, however I am not sure why he is joshin them. Rival high school, CBL?
  2. DEs are always at a premium. But a nose tackle is pivotal (a good one) in the 3-4. /nitpicked
  3. A super division of the big six is inevitable; they will drop out of the NCAA and create they're own before they acknowledge we are all (120 of us) supposed to be treated equally...and before any playoff is created.
  4. I think the money distribution is far more unfair than any current or proposed championship setup. Spread the wealth and watch the competition truly heat up.
  5. I wouldn't consider the new digs to be on campus...am I wrong?
  6. Kinda weird that you felt that last clarification was necessary?
  7. 100? There are about 30 regulars that account for 90% of the posts from day to day. Not a bad thought. Maybe one day GMGers can pull together enough for our own suite. Then we could all actually meet each other and discuss SMU, conference alignment and shades of green over alcohol. That sounds awesome. Or, it would look awesome.
  8. There is nothing in this thread that can't be resolved by a win over Troy. Fuzzys Tacos would help, too.
  9. Oh you didn't know? The Belt has grown. Its all perception
  10. Hey man, only if you're, like, into brevity.
  11. Another chicken-egg argument Marketing helps Winning helps Being a pro-active as a fan base helps Pie helps Not one single item listed is going to work by itself. They all go hand in hand. Losing certainly hurts, though.
  12. Very true, though a distinction could be made that it was not really being more durable; rather he suited up and asked to play through injury out of necessity. Good point, though. If I am a coach, I am looking at all the injuries he has sustained the past two seasons and prioritizing his long-term health vs. the effectiveness of the offense. After what Chico pulled off the last 5 games, I have no problem if Riley is under center. But I also still wonder that he is more injury prone than what you want your starting QB to be.
  13. Speak for yourself No players got me more amped for the game than Booger, Buckles, Jones, Cobbs and Co. My friends and I were 10x mire giddy during the streak and bowl games. Heck, still get chills remembering Galbraith converting 1st downs to seal the Cinci win. Until McCarney is winning games, this is nothing more than a splash hire.
  14. I was under te impression that the decision was made by the staff. Riley just gracefully agreed to do it. Riley was a soldier who excelled under difficult circumstances this season. We get to hit from ground zero again next season, a ground from which Tune and Thompson were our top guys. I still like Riley as a WR/utilty guy who provides a change of pace package...wildcat/zone read/whatever. If anything his durability will always be in question under center.
  15. Okay, discredit Leach. What are we debating? I am not if the opinion that he was a great coach. My point was meant to be that ticket sales, as great as they are, reflect the fans commitment to the program and not any specific sentiment about Leach. There is no way to tell; if there was no fiasco and Mike was still around, who is to say season tickets would be even more? I will be curious to see how the new guy does and if the interest is sustained. Who did TTech hire anyways?
  16. TCU got to where they are because they decided to take care of themselves first. I think we are finally starting to do the same. If that means acting above any conference loyalties, I am okay with that. I love my Belt, but it would be naive to blow off the advantage$ afforded AQ members. Good for TCU. Let's put ourselves in a similar position before any possible classification splits.
  17. Good for TTech fans to demonstrate that kind of loyalty to your program. Ticket sales can be tied to coaching interest at a certain point, but I don't think it proves or disproves any given argument about sentiment for Leach. A better tale will be long term, when The Raiders are no longer winning 9 - 10 games and out of the spotlight because their media darling is gone.
  18. Fun analogy: this 30 minute PT rehash is going to be the next draw on third and long. Yes, it is fallacious game planning to various degrees. Yea, it will drive us into repeated face palms after reading threads beat like the dead horse. But when all is said and done, the man is still winning. **edit Serious ?... What were these guys averaging during the first 5 - 10 games last season? The year before? And, if > 30 minutes, where was this concern then?
  19. I, too, start new threads when old ones don't go my way. That way, JJ and Co hear me loud and clear.
  20. Yes! Or some kind of showcase. 4 team format.
  21. Your phones ringing, Dude. - Thanks, Donny.
  22. I thought Chico would be handling that too...I could be wrong?
