  1. FedEx wants to see those UNT recruits representing their brand. badly.
  2. I am not disregarding it, I'm suggesting we suck at recruiting, with or without NIL. NIL and the transfer rules are just making the entire process around us, in and outside Denton, move faster. I don't really care if this is statistically the worse offseason ever. I still handle emotionally it the same as any other bad offseason, which have been plenty around here. I'll still be around, watching and rooting for the Mean Green next year.
  3. The damning reality is how shitty we are recruiting right now, regardless of NIL.
  4. Gonna be honest: what's killing my Mean Green vibe is not actually NIL, it's all the Mean Green fans griping about NIL. I know we all have our reasons, but for me and my fandom, I'm pretty good as long as someone is representing Mean Green in college sports. I like following the players and feel a certain level of attachment to them, but obviously not nearly as much attachment as some of you all do. PS: maybe I'll be joining y'all done day! Just not there yet.
  5. I'm an idiot sometimes, and this was one of those times. I think throwing TP in the middle of a Sonny Dykes Texas Tech football quote in which you're clearly not quoting - only paraphrasing - threw me off ab it.
  6. Sloan, Steve UNT AD 1991-1993. While he was here: President: Alfred Francis Hurley Football Coach: Dennis Parker MBB Coach: Jimmy Gales Conference Membership: Southland
  7. He was getting bumped off the two-deep.
  8. Not a perfect parallel, but I’m reminded of the Dickey era and how he didn’t capitalize on the Sun Belt titles like we hoped for. whats the deal? Is our brand - bball, fb, whatever - still suffering on the recruiting trails? Are we still looked down upon by hs coaches?
  9. I tried this and it did NOT go over well. It probably had something to do with the timing: I said it right after the boss said "I'll be right back. I need to use the restroom."
  10. Not every kid coming straight from HS needs a ton of development. If they demonstrate enough to for us to believe they can contribute, get them! I think Layne would have helped us. This is all moot now. We released him, and it was for honorable reasons.
  11. I thought he’d be contributing major minutes on Day 1. Not sure about starting, but def not on the bench
  12. Okay, that dilutes my first sentence, but it's still a worthy question.
  13. Yeah, I was just having some fun. Obviously things happen, but it's usually due to some miscommunication or disconnect between parties involved. Not that we cannot accurately count/estimate this sort of thing.
  14. We can build mirrors in outer space that can point a ray of light at a dime located on the Empire State Building. We can calculate the path of a total solar eclipse, referencing the path of two objects that are 240,000 miles away and 99 million miles away respectively, and pinpoint that exact time in 2044 - 20 years out - to the month and day. But here is someone that questions our ability to accurate count seats in a football stadium.
  15. Most of them were recruited to fit McCasland's system. What if Hodge has a different vision for our system? Do you change the system to accommodate this loyalty/investment, or do you take advantage of the portal to put yourself in a winning position...sooner?
  16. I thought the one on this site was simply collecting the money and forwarding it to the LTT Collective. Am I wrong?
  17. "Coaches are gonna jump at the chance, too" is the number one response I read/hear when talking about student-athletes' lack of commitment. I don't see anyone going "damn, you're right. everything is financially equal now." It's like you keep throwing this hammer down, and you're hitting the wrong nail. Why is it not convincing anyone? Do people not want this to be about equal financial opportunity?
  18. My Mean Green Koolaid tells me that Hodge let these guys walk without a fight, that he has bigger plans and last season's roster was not ideal for him and his Mean Green vision. I honestly don't want to hear him say that publicly, though. It would be bad press. What I need, though, is for him to prove it.
  19. Right. Just like he deserved to be the starter last year @ Cal.
  20. It's there, I just didn't care enough to make the option visible.
  21. "He got married this weekend" *inserts picture of random couple* This has real potential as a bit. Maybe we can use it when HS recruits sign. Cameron Christian, DL c/o '26 has signed with the Mean Green. Congratulations!
  22. I had zero issue suiting up a guy who never played for UNT. I have zero issue suiting TP and Co again if they want to represent us. What takes priority here, your high horse or building UNT's brand? Get guys who want to help us win.
