  1. It's okay to be upset about this. I am, too. But if we're going to have this all figured out, why not go all out? The 1st quarter pace was all-too reminiscent of Dodge Game 1. So, I think it is safe to say that the next 4 years are going down the tube, and going down in humiliation. If you want to talk rational arguments, then you're going to have to explain why you're trying to use the last 5 games of 2010 as a benchmark for this year's performance. Is it really as simple as "we still have Chico"? Should it be that simple? I am just going to chill out and watch the next two seasons unfold. Because this is what we got, like it or not. And I don't know if it gets any better than this for NT, regarding facilities and staff. Also, I don't believe anyone is blaming this solely on a freshman starting in our OLine. But thanks for throwing that out there.
  2. To clarify, I'm not trying to justify 0 points. It's a big worry for me, too. I also think a great staff can have a bad day.
  3. That's the worst rebuttal I've ever read. You can do better. To give you an idea of FIU's O-line, their starting 5 is all JRs and SRs. There are some freshman in the 2-deep, but only one is true. I think you're blowing off what it means when a true freshman comes in and takes an Oline starting spot....for the season opener, no less. If you look at what our Oline faced, FIU's Dline has no frosh in their two-deep. They have 5 guys with starting experience, an all-Belter, and 73 games played between them. But mostly, I think you're just in knee-jerk mode. I used to be there, too. I recommend turning off the PC and going to bed. **EDIT: As commented by Harry on Twitter, Thompson was taking too much time. It makes FIU look fast, and our OLine performance look worse. Lastly, FIU led the conference in defense last season. FWIW....
  4. A true frosh came in and took a starting spot. Not a single guy from last year's line is playing the same position. Still don't get it?
  5. I don't know how some of you choose to endure this and then choose to not give bball a shot. I love me some football, but JJ and Co. are the breathe of fresh air of UNT athletics right now. Let's hope these footballers get a W soon to reward all their hard work.
  6. We won the rest of the game 16-13.
  7. I wonder if some of these players are playing to win, and some of them are playing to not get injured.
  8. Well, Rick, maybe there is some kind of hidden genius behind this move that we're just not seeing.
  9. Some of ya'll have this whole season figured out, and all we've seen is one game. I'm impressed.
  10. According to the Green Gang on Facebook, no one is allowed on field.
  11. I don't know if we have 10 years to build this thing.
  12. It's still a commendable number, regardless of how they're sold. I would be surprised if they got 20K regularly, but our own AD needs to see this as one more reason to keep pushing ourselves to be better.
  13. Game Notes Kevin Corke, play-by-play Doug Graber, analyst
  14. If we were talking about a live broadcast, why not? But, that's not what YouTube is. I have some friends who have dropped their cable TV signal completely to live off Hulu and Netflix through their TV box. It is much cheaper, and works just as well if not better. I don't have a definition for you. The internet is challenging the way we think about television. That's all I am saying. And pretty soon - if not already - bars will have cable boxes and PC boxes connected to their tubes, and we won't be able to tell the difference. I'm pretty bored with this topic. No one has really given me something convincing; merely "It just doesn't feel the same." which sounds like a lotta "Get off mah porch" mantras thrown around here regarding our program and Fry. Thanks for your replies.
  15. I think you're short-changing how much in-game experience means in to this game. Those NCAA teams JJ assembled took time to grow. They logged some serious minutes together, getting very familiar with their game over the course of more than one season. Talent. It's an interesting word. It means you ain't done anything yet. People don't say, "Wow, Michael Jordan! He's so talented." No one is arguing that this is an amazing array of talent on our roster. They're just saying, they haven't done anything yet. And that's a huge wildcard.
  16. Well there are other non-online feeds that are available on certain providers, say DirectTV versus Charter (The Versus network comes to mind). So, in that sense, the bar has to have that specific network or you won't stumble upon it. Just playing devil's advocate here.
  17. It's a telecast audio/video signal. I'm just not seeing the difference. Especially when the cable signals (TV and internet) are over the same wiring. If you like via the big screen and not on a PC monitor, there are many cables that can do that for you.
  18. The excitement over football is such that people are actually posting new threads when they receive their season tickets. I'm ready for some dang football.
  19. Not the first line. What about being nationally broadcast online is not television to you? (in English, por favor)
  20. We let Ditka kick the ball. Common courtesy...
  21. CBL is failing to mention Denton's knack for finding a way to not show up to bball games. If we don't average 10K, I (unfortunately) won't be shocked. Disappointed? you bet. but not shocked.
