How long does it take for other institutions to get their tickets/passes out? Seems to me you can't do anything with them anyways until gameday. What are you gonna do with them for 21 days, tape them to your bathroom mirror?

We need to do something cool on this bridge before every game. Something that will make ESPN's Gameday crew show it on national TV.

I think we should just mic up the whole band via wireless packs and run the signal straight into the Apogee Stadium system. From the soundboard, we can use our top-of-the-line Apogee network to broadcast it instantly to every intercom and speaker on campus and beyond. Where can you go from there? Nowhere. Suck it Troy.

At 30 years old, DCI came around about 10 years after McAdow retired. This is the driving force behind today's competitive marching band experience. DCI alumni are everywhere: they are all over high school band staffs, and you can always count on at least one of our drum majors being alumnus. Dr. Williams did DCI (I forget which one!). Things just aren't what they used to be, and it doesn't have to be a bad thing. http://bcove.me/2pdqd88c I think Dr. William's does a wonderful job balancing their role within the gameday experience, and their responsibility to educate and prepare future band directors to field competitive marching programs. Also, it would be very cool to see them do a throwback show? They don't have to bring back everything, 100% of the time. But maybe they can find an original arrangement of the Fight Song and play it once/game? Just a thought. Who knows? Maybe Dr. Williams has something up his sleeve! I look forward to seeing what the Green Brigade shows us this year!

There is a drumline in the GB, and it is already better than any other battery (field ensemble) out there. What I want to know is, do you miss a specific performance routine, or is it merely being able to say "we have our best out there"? If we put our A-line out there, and you don't hear anything different than our B-line, what then? Maybe you'll be happy, but if the line odes not win PASIC again, where do you think they'll first put the blame? This all goes back to a Dean of Music that required every music major, regardless if you're education/performance/whatever, to be in the marching band. That is the era some got to like, and nothing else is acceptable. You want the A line? Challenge the system. Silver, that was mentioned in the drumline discussion months ago. This is not new to the board. The A-line is a separate "course" from marching band. It does not fall under the umbrella of Dr. Williams or any of the AD. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Like how we love our new uniforms and helmets?

Flooding the fan with images of America's team is one thing. Flooding the potential new fan with images of a team that won 6 games in 3 seasons is another. Especially when they get to choose between Rangers, Mavs, Cowboys, Stars, and Horned Frog games. We can pitch the new stadium/coach bit, but until we start winning is it really going to get us more than a handful of fans? I actually agree with NT80, but the move can be played tactfully. At this point in our program, open vs. closed coverage is not making or breaking us.. When we start winning, than we can open things up and advertise a good product.

Is it really lack of video? I don't think we're getting less video, just take last season and subtract Vito's blogging and the Green Gang's chats. I'm just working off the top my head. Don't shoot a bad memory! Just a few more 0.02 cents: I think the "fence" fans are waiting for Sept 1 and 10, not a circle drill montage.

If Dr. Williams puts all 370 of them on the field ("on the field" includes front line/pit), I think we would be closing in on largest college band in Texas.

I just don't see them blacking him out because they don't get along. If they have an agenda, then they'll put him in a bad light, not pretend he isn't around.
