I really don't understand these "all or nothing" arguments against Leach. He did great things in the Big XII, broke records with Hal Mumme, recruited Heupel to OU as OC, beat a #1 team as a HC. But because DMac won a national title as a position coach and has a decent record at ISU, Leach is dog poo in comparison? I think both are great, but happen to like that DMac seems to be a bit more of a complete package...what with the defensive skins on the wall, our DC and retaining Chico. But that doesn't mean I think Leach hasn't won anything.

If I was you, Emmitt, I'd call up the department - Stitsinger specifically, if possible - and ask for a phone number (or protocol) to follow in case you show up Friday and are told otherwise. It sounds absurd at this point, but I don't think it is out of the question that the police (or CSC?) don't get the message that it is allowed.

What? What are you trying to do here? Am I hallucinating? I thought the media freakin' loved putting Leach on TV. Behind OU and UT, I can't think of another Big XII team that was on TV as much while he was there? OSU might come close, but that's it.

If Leach and DMac coach up against each other in the same conference again, I wouldn't mind nabbing a second coming of Seneca.

You don't think Industrial can come close? Dan's has an available second bar (I haven't seen them use), along with the patio. Fuzzy's and Hot Box for food. The old Cold Fusion lounge needs to come back as some type of bar/live music venue. Still no Tomato, though; I'll give you that. Still, walking distance from a coffee house and The Loophole/Beth Marie's.

Long walk to stadium? Sounds like we're big time.

I don't think it's terrible or wrong to say the casual fan does not pay attention to assistants, and probably knows Leach's name ("Yay pirates!") before knowing Mac's. Still, I think he is one of the best guys we could have hired. Let him make his mark on the national scene starting in Denton.

There will be some serious suspensions, but I can't see the NCAA ever issuing the death penalty again. IMO, the results of this will only further validate how much the NCAA is all hat no cattle with their money machines favorite schools.

Only instance I've ever seen anybody refer to LT with his middle name. Side note: I was there when LT broke the NCAA record for yards in a game (400+). Maybe Lance will do the same before all is said and done

What would you say to an NFL scout about Rainey? What are his strengths? Areas he needs to develop? How does his role as a RB differ from what Lance offers? It sounds like Rainey is a workhorse.

Anyone else remember the Art Prostitute, right off Industrial? I never got to visit the place, but walked by it several times to/from Dan's.

It could merely be a preference thing. Having said that, I do remember sitting in a gym in 8th grade, voting on my future high school's mascot and colors. We were briefed by a marketing "expert" on bird mascots. The gist is this: birds just don't offer a whole lot of options regarding how to make them "look". My 0.02 cents: I happen to like the SOW, but if we put it on there someone might think we're copying the USPS. And we've done an eagle head before. It looks like a Philly Eagle logo ripoff. We did it right decades ago, establishing an Eagle that people can identify UNT with. Unfortunately for that eagle (and awesome for the fan base), it looked like a worm.

I've always loved the bar staff at Greenhouse. Monday's and Thursdays are great nights there. But I can't speak for their dinners. Never ordered a meal. I discovered Fuzzy's this past year. How did I get through my entire UNT career without ever being told about them? Amazing.
