  1. The weather looks good for next Saturday. Highs in the upper 60's with light winds.
  2. Whichever bowl that hosts the CUSA Champions! GO MEAN GREEN!
  3. We could very well be 9-3 before it's all over. 8-4 at worst. We're in good shape.
  4. Tech wants this game more than we do.
  5. Good article by Brett. Focused on the positives and the future rather than past failures.
  6. Matthew, I hope that after you graduate, you are able to land a good job and that you remember your roots and continue to write excellent articles about the Mean Green. I enjoy reading your work.
  7. Captain Obvious here...he'll play when the doctors say he can play.
  8. A few years back, some jackass at the Denton Wretched Chronicle (as some of us called it back then) was advocating that UNT drop athletics altogether. I remember several back and forth emails supporting UNT and having to remind him that no state funds go into supporting athletics. Dude definitely had an agenda. I sure hope we don't go back to that kind of $hite journalism.
  9. Let's go where we have the most exposure, biggest payout and can bring the most fans. If we have a choice at all.
  10. All of these are factors. However, to me G-5 conference members need to admit that they're never going to get into the P-5 club and form regional conferences that would generate more interest from fans in general. It's been mentioned on this board a million times, but schools in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana should rekindle the old SWC. Tulsa, UNT, SMU, Houston, La. Tech, UTSA, Rice, UTEP and throw in a couple more would generate instant interest and rivalries in those areas. Better than trying to promote schools no one knows anything about.
  11. I'm glad that UNT is starting to take its self seriously and that our AD is acting like a real Div. 1 program. I really like the progress we're making both athletically and academically. GO MEAN GREEN!
  12. I have followed this team since 1989 and no, my fandom has never wavered. Pardon me for not being sympathetic. I have watched many embarrassing loses to teams big and small. If you want to jump ship, be my guest. Recently however, we have seen good things happen as a result of humiliating loses. Portland State brought about a positive change at the HC position and indirectly a change with a new AD. Great things have happened because the fans/alumni who stuck it out, demanded change, which we got. UNT is poised to go higher than we ever thought possible under this Administration. So, if snowflakes want to bail after one loss and find comfort in the big programs, and have their mommy's bring them cookies and milk before they go to bed, then have at it. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. I have no patience with those who haven't the stomach for the fight. See you Saturday night in black. GO MEAN GREEN! Beat the hell outta ODU!
  13. My bet is they will. Nothing like getting your asses whipped to wake up competitive athletes. Look for a big win this Saturday.
  14. Plumm, you are one of the most ardent, dedicated Mean Green fans I've ever seen. God bless you and...GO MEAN GREEN!
  15. We'll see what this team is made of next week. I expect them to show up and play much better and beat OD.
  16. Big, emotional win last week and FAU had two weeks to prepare. Not making excuses, just making an observation. Bound to happen to everyone. However, I would like to see a little fight. Maybe and second half showing to make it somewhat respectable.
  17. So if Tech finishes near the bottom of the Big 12 again, do they come after Littrell and Co? He is a Leach protégé and could bring Harrell with him. Would Littrell leave us and go to Texas Tech?
  18. Anyone at the game to give live weather reports?
  19. No English. Our ace in the hole?
