  1. We just need to worry about ourselves and we have a head coach who knows how to do that. What's good for our conference is good for us. Especially when we are bowl eligible every year. So... Keep calm and GO MEAN GREEN!
  2. I once saw the original battle flag, except it had the Alumni logo on it in place of the star. Now, THAT ONE I would fly!
  3. Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS. Where's the "mainstream media" been on these issues?
  4. Incoming freshmen may not have an idea, but those returning lettermen only need to remember Georgia to realize they can hang with just about anyone. Coach Mac has built a big time program.
  5. Given that DW has four years of eligibility, it seems the upside to him is well above the other QB candidates. If he is already showing flashes of genius now, can you imagine how good he'll be as a senior, barring injury? GO MEAN GREEN!
  6. Was surfing around on You Tube and found the old song by John Denver that I thought others might enjoy. The majesty of the Eagle is inspiring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec7loUVZNN0
  7. This! Plus the fact that Mac is building a real D-1 program that we have never had here at NT. Who could argue that this was possibly our best season and we showed well on national TV every time we had the opportunity. I say give Mac his contract and be happy that we have him for the duration. Look at the coaching hires as well. Top notch assistants and we all know they can make or break your program. We lost coach Nelson, but may have upgraded with Coach Patrick. Do it! GO MEAN GREEN!
  8. Meaningless, except that they will have the bulls eye on their back. We were picked fifth this season and look what happened. This will only give us incentive to achieve more. We are Bowl Champions, after all. GO MEAN GREEN!
  9. Legitimate concerns all. I'm not too worried because we have a real coaching staff in place that knows what they're doing. This will be a re-tooling year for sure, but we had real concerns going into this year and we fared all right. Hell,, we didn't even know who our starting QB was going to be and had real questions about the D-line. Something tells me, we'll be OK come next fall. Spring should answer some questions as well. GO MEAN GREEN!
  10. There is no reason for them to get out of our series except the fear that we will kick their asses on a regular basis and thus, win the recruiting war. They understand very well who the real team in the metroplex is and it ain't them. I want to play them because it's an easy travel game and will generate local interest. Other than that, screw them. Let's play them, cause we own em a few. GO MEAN GREEN!
  11. They all very well know what our name is. This is just an old, worn out expression that lost it's meaning years ago and they have nothing else. Screw them. GO MEAN GREEN!
  12. My experience too Steve. People are beginning to jump on the bandwagon. UNT and Coach McCarney have got to keep this thing going. I believe they will and a strong showing against Texas and a ass whippin of smu will do wonders for attendance at Apogee next year. The giant is waking up, rubbing his eyes and thinking, "what the hell just happened?" Thank you administration for having the faith and providing the funding and support for finally putting athletics on the pedestal it deserves and allowing the AD to hire real college coaches with skins. Thank you Rick for orchestrating this whole thing; thank you students and alumni for turning out in droves yesterday and proving to Dallas/Ft. Worth that yes, UNT as a following. Thank you student-athletes for persevering through the lean years and finally, thank you God for the perfect weather yesterday. I was in hog-heaven! GO MEAN GREEN!
  13. Is it still a grass field? Or is it synthetic?
  14. Understood, but I have a hard time believing that nothing was done. Time is of the essence to make sure everyone gets their tickets. Rick made a statement through Harry as to how the issue would be resolved. Sending individual emails is time consuming. Again, not making excuses for them, just giving the benefit of the doubt.
  15. I went to pick up my tickets from the ticket office yesterday and the young lady who was dispersing the tickets was getting an ear full from a dude who I'm sure thought she was the one responsible for this mess. I felt bad for her as she was being as accommodating as she could, but still caught shit from this guy. Look, I'm not an apologist for the AD, but being in the service industry, I am cognizant of how things well intentioned can get screwed up. I'm not an insider either, so I don't really know what happened either. What I do know, is that from Rick on down to contract help, I'm sure this is not the way they wanted it rolled out. Has their been a history of unresponsiveness with some of you, yes. Should contingencies always be in place, yes. Was there organizational dysfunction? More than likely. IMHO, if you want to bitch, take it to the top where it is deserved and don't unload your venom on someone who is trying to do their best to correct a stupid situation. While not a totally new situation for the AD, we've never "hosted" a bowl game before. Just trying to give the benefit of the doubt when we're so quick to assign blame. I've been in those situations before and unfortunately, shit happens. I saw people in the ticket office yesterday who were doing the best they could to correct an unfortunate situation. I just happier than a pig in shit that we're going to a bowl game. GO MEAN GREEN! BEAT THE HELL OUTTA UNLV!!
  16. Now that Christmas is over and with Bowl season in full swing, Mean Green fans are coming out of the woodwork to buy tickets. GO MEAN GREEN!
  17. Wonder what time the A-train makes it to Trinity Mills?
  18. Excellent news. Now, let's beat the hell outta UNLV! GO MEAN GREEN!
