  1. Like - G5, Army, Navy, Boise St. P5, Texas (wife is a T-sip), Auburn (sis-in-law bleeds navy and orange), Texas A&M, Georgia (like the mascots!) Hate - G5, smoo (for obvious reasons) utsa (can't beat them, damn it!) P5 - TexasTech (sorriest fans in college football)
  2. Gentleman, this has become nothing but a chest beating, insult ridden post. Bottom line is, Gov. Abbott IS going to be the commencement speaker which in the big scheme of things, is a good thing for the university. Not everyone agrees with his politics, but guess what? He doesn't agree with the protesters who will boycott his speech. That's just the way of the world. I believe the key here is to ALLOW our differences, even though we disagree. Not everyone is going to agree with everything. Most people love chocolate, but some prefer vanilla. We can agree to disagree. GO MEAN GREEN!
  3. I'm sure Jesse Watters will make it down for commencement...
  4. Maybe they'll say there are 32,000 students who are in favor of the Gov.
  5. I would start McNulty and make Smith and Williams prove themselves. Once they do, stand back and let them make plays. Something McNulty can't do.
  6. I agree with most on this board that DW is our best QB right now. He does bring an excitement to the team, but more importantly, he brings an added dimension that little Mac cannot. One play in particular was a third and long where DJ faked to the RB before pulling it back and running left for about eight - ten yards and a first down. No way McNulty makes that play. There is so much upside to Williams and Conner Means. As for Greer, I think we've seen enough. No way should he take another snap. McNulty is as good as he's ever going to get. I hope that by the time conference gets fully underway, our coaches will start to invest in the future with QB's that will take us to the next level. In my book it's, 1. Williams 2. McNulty 3. Means GO MEAN GREEN!
  7. So what rights are they being denied? The right to assemble? The right to protest? You and your ilk support gay marriage, me and mine support traditional marriage. In the words of Dr. Evil, "we're not so different, you and I."
  8. Well, isn't that magical. Ironic that a group that begs for inclusion and acceptance, isn't willing to be part of the "mainstream" or accept others differing views.
  9. My high school (Dallas Bryan Adams) was green and white with silver helmets. My Jr. Hi was royal blue with gold pants and gold helmets. Pretty snazzy for Jr Hi! GO MEAN GREEN!
  10. About the only thing political to come out of his mouth will be the philosophy of hard work, perseverance, self reliance, and a faith in God as a source of strength. If that's political, well...this is not a divisive forum. It's a graduation speech. BTW, I sent an email to the Pres. S supporting his decision to invite Gov. Abbott to speak. Anytime a sitting Governor speaks at your university, it's a good thing. Regardless of party affiliation.
  11. For those of you who have been attending the games, what has been the reason for the turn around in our level of play? Has Benford found his mojo? Is it player chemestry? Easy part of the schedule? Opinions, please. GO MEAN GREEN!
  12. Bryan Adams High School (Cougars) Doug English, Class of 71 - UT Ex and former All Pro with the Detroit Lions Lincoln Coleman, Class of 87 - former Baylor Bear and running back for the Dallas Cowboys Scott Robertson, Class of 74 - Trinity Valley College (formerly known as Henderson Co. Jr. College). This dude could play, but an Achilles injury shortened his career. His dream was to play for the Mean Green, but alas. Cooley, if you read this, Kevin Croft, my old room mate at HCJC, passed away recently in Dallas. Don't know if you remember or knew him, but you do have a connection with good ol HCJC, yes?
  13. Since we're on the topic of uniform talk, I have a new uni combination I'd like to see next season. Black helmet w/ green SOW, traditional green jerseys, black pants and black socks and shoes. Buehler?
  14. A new winning streak will begin on Saturday. There's nothing like home cooking.
  15. I believe it is an early kickoff. 11 AM perhaps.
  16. But I sure like the intangible that D. Williams brings to the table. Nice 20 yard run!
  17. We played hard, but our glaring lack of QB play was painful to say the least. This MUST improve or it will be a long year.
