  1. I admire Houston's desire for the "big time." I wish UNT felt this way. GO MEAN GREEN!
  2. You guys, you guys. Dr. S. is not going to answer the question in that type of forum. It was a PC answer and I would not read anything into it. Purely political. GO MEAN GREEN!
  3. It's because it's a short week. Chico runs the offense, Cosh, the defense. If we see any improvement, maybe we'll keep you through the end of the year. Or until a new coach brings in his staff on November.
  4. Because it is a culture of losing. Clean house. GO MEAN GREEN!
  5. No game film tomorrow for tonights game. Open competition at every position and start over. New season starting Thursday night. GO MEAN GREEN!
  6. McNulty should never see the field again. Neither should Greer. It should be Smith and Means from here on out.
  7. Someone who is young, hungry, experienced and can recruit. Should be easy, eh? GO MEAN GREEN!
  8. Cosh should be fired as well. His players are constantly out of position and can't make plays.
  9. I agree that we should go outside the university for the new hire. But what has Chico done to earn your hatred? Mac runs (ran) the show, not Chico. I don't believe McNulty would have started after the Rice game if Chico were calling the shots.
  10. Who are you going to get at mid season?? Mac is the one who insisted McNulty play when all was lost. Someone has to coach this team. Are YOU going to do it? Jeez.
  11. Chico should be given a chance. He did an admirable job last time. GO MEAN GREEN!
  12. It's obvious the players have quit on Mac. He needs to go.
  13. President Smastrek should fire Mac and RV, and put Chico as interim until a new AD is found. If Chico can turn this around as he did for Dodge a few years ago, let him have the job. But this university has to show that this kind of performance is unacceptable. It is obvious the players have quit on Mac.
  14. Yes. Put all of your NT apparel, hats, memorabilia, and season tickets in a box to the President and tell him you are through supporting this joke of an athletic department. It is an embarrassment and should not be tolerated for a university striving for Tier One status. We are the worst program in Div.1 football and I will no longer give my hard earned money and time to this lack of endeavor. Leave it at that. GO MEAN GREEN!
  15. Norm Hitzges once said that North Texas is the place where coaching careers go to die. He's right. Until our lame ass BOR decides that winning is important, this will be the case. The losing culture here is so dominate, that I don't think anyone has any idea how to win. No goals, not standards, no expectations. Only losing. I've been a season ticket holder/Mean Green Club member for many years and I'm tired of getting kicked in the nuts week in, week out, year after year. We are a small time program that settles for losing. We accept losing. We're OK with it. I don't look forward to game days anymore because, what's the point? Our athletic department is a joke and places no emphasis on winning. The worst part? We are irrelevant in our conference, our state and to the general public. 2013 was an illusion and I have checked out.
  16. FFR, I know you're right there with me on this because you're a purest like me. When/where did it start that an eagle "caws?" Even our idiotic marketing department plays into this. Eagles don't "CAW." Crows "caw." Eagles "shreek" and have talons, not claws. At old Fouts, when we needed a big play, the PA system would play a very loud "shreek." LIKE A REAL EAGLE DOES! OK, now that's off my chest. GO MEAN GREEN!
  17. Except, there are no national championships at stake here.
  18. ...and now S. Carolina. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/coach-steve-spurrier-makes-qb-switch-south-carolina-181938304--ncaaf.html GO MEAN GREEN!
  19. There's a lot more at stake at Texas and Auburn than at little North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN!
