  1. Correct. I was referring to the earlier possession where they went for it on 4th instead of kicking.
  2. Oh well. Should have kicked the FG to tie it up.
  3. UIW got boned. Why have replay if you are just going to ignore it? Home cooking?
  4. According to AD Mosely and I quote, "From early in our process Eric was able to clearly articulate his vision for UNT and what we can do in the short term to build momentum as we transition to the American Athletic Conference" and no one wants to know what he articulated so clearly? This is what Mosely led with in his announcement and was apparently something that separated Coach Morris from a deep and talented pool of candidates. Personally, I'd like to know what he said.
  5. I hope “the best group of five *job*” isn’t the vision he articulated so well during the interview. That’s a vision for the head coach position, not the football program. I want to know what vision he shared during the interview. Where does he see the program in a year, in three, in five and what is his plan to get us there?
  6. Does he have any role during the Bowl game? I mean, he's already in his position as Head Coach, right? It's his ship now, he should be leading it. It's not like he's not in his official role until after the game. The changing of the guard has already happened. I suppose it is the way it is, but seems weird to be the Head Coach and just be a spectator.
  7. We may need to have Coach Mac and Coach Morris stand back-to-back.
  8. There are a lot on here that have much more insight on coaches salaries, contracts, etc., so I'm throwing this question out the the collective Mean Green Nation. After a change in the HC position of an FBS university, how often is the incoming/replacement coach paid less than the outgoing coach? Just thinking out loud, I would have thought if a school wanted to go in a different direction, it would be willing to pay at least the same or more, not less, but I have no real basis for that feeling. I'm not trying to diminish the value of Coach Morris. The more I've learned about him, the more I like and I'm looking forward to what he can bring to the football program. Just wondering if we went down in our HC compensation, does that send an unintentional message about the value we place on the HC? I mean, if the powers that be feel that the new coach (any new coach at any school) is better than the old coach, shouldn't they be willing to pay more? We're trading up, not down, right?
  9. Our defense couldn't get off the field to save their lives and that's on them not the offense or QB. How many 3rd and longs did we give up to allow the opposing team to continue a drive? The defense gave up a last possession TD drive in the UTSA game and crapped the bed and gave up a halftime lead during the second half of the UAB game. There is plenty of blame (or praise) to go around. We can't lay it all on one side of the ball or player.
  10. Welcome aboard (and home) Coach Morris. I'm looking forward to hearing your vision for UNT, your assessment as to the state of the program and the specific changes you have in mind (in the short term) to build momentum and success for UNT football.
  11. Was hoping our time in purgatory was way, way way in the rearview mirror. Will we ever be able to rid ourselves of the Southland?
  12. Who knew finding a new HC was as simple as looking at a few schools in the area?
  13. You get an up vote for coming up with a thread title that will withstand the test of time and never expire!
  14. I’m pretty sure it only applies to UNT athletics hires.
  15. Pretty sure this was in reference to GCU and not us. They mentioned if GCU won, it would be their 4th win over a 21-22 conference champ (using our regular season West win) so far this year. Impressive for them.
  16. The last thing we need to do right now is to go cheap and look for opportunities to save money on our coaching staff. If we are serious about winning and based on the e-mail from the president we are, we will find the money.
  17. I had 8-4 as the regular season. Thought we would steal one of UNLV, Memphis or UAB, but that didn't happen. Did not include a prediction for a bowl game or a conference championship game.
  18. I wonder how many Tulane fans struggled with this same dilemma after going 2-10 last year? It's your money and time to do with what you please. Support the team/university or don't.
  19. Thanks all. I looked away then saw the ball go out of bounds and was like where’s the flag. I assumed the refs were just screwing us like they did at the end of the 1st half.
  20. on the UTSA kickoff that went out of bounds, did we touch it? I missed the touch (or replay of the touch if they showed it), but we got the ball where it went out at the 15. So I guess the refs said we touched it.
  21. Let’s Go Mean Green!!!
  22. What? No Texas ties? That seems to be a requirement for everything else. Hahahaha. Detail-oriented. We seem to miss on *A LOT* of little things that when added up present an AD in disarray and a negative customer experience. Apogee is a nice stadium but we’ve had constant problems with the ref microphone and video board operation since the beginning. All the early season issues this year was classic amateur-hour stuff. Maybe his focus was elsewhere. Also need someone who can increase season ticket sales and reliable/dependable ticket office operations. Community engagement also a must. Need to sell UNT athletics to the Denton community. Adding a couple thousand in attendance from the community would change the dynamics and could snowball into something bigger.
  23. Another one off the market. Two, ummm, interesting hires by teams going into the AAC next year.
  24. Maybe we get exactly the football program we deserve. 🥲
