Mob mentality is the problem, not an isolated incident. Have you ever seen a game where people get mad at a ref or umpire and throw stuff on the field or court? How would you ever eject individuals.

I’m sure some of it has to do with staffing security, ushers, concessions, etc. It’s probably helpful for them to have an idea of how many students are going to be there. That said, I would still just swipe ids and make it as easy as possible.

Agreed. Even if there’s a chance there won’t be enough seats, I would still just swipe ids and put a huge “countdown clock” to show everyone on the hill how many student seats are left and maybe it would encourage some students to go in early.

I don’t know why students should even need to “claim a ticket” at all. I think students should be a swipe your student id at the entrance and walk in the building transaction.
