  1. Haha. Exactly. It is no wonder on my part.
  2. Haha. True dat. That was apparent in ya'lls win over New Mexico.
  3. They must have been reading these threads.
  4. Green Otaku, also thought, 4th down inside the 3, go for it. In the event that we are stopped, say on the one, I would trust our defense to hold them or possibly get a safety or a turnover. General Maximus, Perseus, and King Leonidas would have definitely gone for it. Down by two scores you play to win. As a Chief, I tell my tribe, "It is better to shoot for the moon and land in the mud than shoot for the mud and make it."
  5. Warcat, you can check all of my posts. I have always spoke of UTSA as a solid football team. I saw ya'll play Houston tough until the 4th quarter. I saw ya'll play Rice and lose by only 6pts. I saw ya'll play OSU blow for blow for 2 qtrs. Congratulations on the win today. I foresaw this as a genuine rivalry from the very beginning. UTSA will continue to grow and get better each year as will UNT. This makes for an awesome annual rivalry. Its rare to see the beginning of a genuine instate Texas rivalry. Ya'll may have won this year, however, there is still round two next year. I'm glad our schools can add something new to the Texas football scene. Enjoy it until we meet again. Chief Rising Eagle. Go Mean Green.
  6. We are witnessing the beginning of a truly great rivalry. We will answer the call and win the day and the game. GO MEAN GREEN.
  7. Just watched episode 9 of Beyond The Green again. In the locker room after the game when Coach Mac is addressing the team, you can see Sarge being overcome with emotion. He is swaying side-to-side and breathing heavily. You can genuinely see how much the victory personally meant to him. I also love how much Jimmerson is juiced up after the victory when he's yelling into the camera. And how Orr says, "Number 1 red zone defense in the country. Not Bama, not LSU, not none of that. MEAN GREEN DEFENSE" after The Stand. All these players are special. All the players are awesome. They are bringing back pride to UNT Football and the Mean Green Nation. Love it all. GO MEAN GREEN.
  8. Good stuff. My favorite part: Skladany was on his way to rejoining McCarney in a matter of weeks for what is likely their last run together. McCarney is 60 and, like Skladany, likely at his last coaching stop, especially if UNT continues to thrive. “I’m very happy here and comfortable with Mac,” Skladany said. “I’m not interested in a whole lot else right now.” There isn’t anyone else McCarney would rather see guide his defense. He has too much respect for Skladany because of his work ethic and talent, not to mention his ability to connect with players and take them by surprise once in a while with a pop-culture reference or two. “John hasn’t lost one bit of energy,” McCarney said. “He thrives on challenges and wants to be the best and turn this program around.”
  9. UTSA is gonna be hit like they've never been hit before.
  10. Talked with some #MeanGreen players today & they say after watching film they don't know how UTSA has lost 5 games. Should be great game! I agree with the players. Watching UTSA, one can see they are a team that can play some good ball. And they are currently ranked higher than TCU and SMU. Its gonna be a great game. GO MEAN GREEN.
  11. I like this idea. Let's try it out. The cheerleaders already have the signs made. I imagine that a perfect time for the cheerleaders to lead the crowd in this chant is between the 3rd and 4th quarters. I think this chant has more potential to pump up the players and give them a lift going into the 4th quarter than the high school prom song that is usually played at that time.
  12. Love Coach Mac. Simply an awesome dude with integrity, passion, vision, fortitude and the will to do things the right way. Reading between the lines, his aspriration is pure and simple: make history by winning a national championship with the Mean Green of North Texas.
  13. I was very impressed with the ODU head football coach and qb when they came down for the C-USA Preview. They were Intelligent, confident, and articulate. Old Dominion appears to be aware of the opportunity it has before it. They also seem to be committed to building their football program the right way and seem to have the money needed in order to do it right. I think ODU is a standup university and will be an excellent addition to C-USA. I've been aware of ODU for years simply because of their basketball program.
  14. Its gonna be a great game. The first of many to come. The historic beginning of a great genuine in-state rivalry. How often does that happen.
  15. Liberty Bowl all the way. That's where the C-USA Champion goes.

  17. "Of the 12 FBS college football programs in Texas, only Baylor and North Texas use green as their primary color. Both control their destinies in their conference championship races." Stefan: Yes, the other Texas teams must be green with envy. Good press. And they include a video as well. Good stuff from the Star-Telegram.
  18. Glad to hear Rex is ok and in good spirits. Major comeback. Yes, that's the attitude of a winner. Godspeed, Rex.
  19. Yes, very interesting indeed. And more good press.
