  1. Excellent segment on Coach Wintrich inspiring cultural change through the warrior's mindset. Coach Frank is responsible for a huge part of the success we are experiencing and will continue to experience. Love what he does and how he does it. All of our coaches and how they work together as a team is reflected in our football team: character, integrity, discipline, enthusiam, belief in each other, and belief that with the right mindset, with undying effort, with the will do something that has never been done before...anything is possible. Love that they believe in the Mean Green.
  2. Welcome, Josh, to the Mean Green Family. Very happy to have you here. Go Mean Green!
  3. For those who have not yet seen the Heart of Dallas Press Conference Video here is a link to watch it. Its located at the bottom of the page. GMG. http://www.meangreensports.com/
  4. I'm with you, All About UNT. I have a feeling that Greer could be just what we need. And he will have a fair opportunity to compete for the starting QB position.
  5. Cool to hear how some of the UNLV players heard they were selected for the HOD bowl. They sound like some good guys who are genuinely excited to come to Texas to play on January 1. I really liked the response of their star cornerback from Texas when he was asked about returning to Texas. Darius Terrell names pops up in there too. Thanks for posting the video link. Go Mean Green.
  6. With one of the best receiving corps in the nation, Greer doesn’t have to overthink. He’s got the fleet Devin Lauderdale, the consummate possession receiver in Austin Collins and former quarterback Alex Austin. And then there’s lanky 6-5 receiver Markel Steward-Gillespie. “When I know there’s a deep route, I feel confident that Devin can go get it because he’s a real burner,” Greer said. “We’ve got so many receivers with different skill sets. It’s a great group of receivers. We’ve got everything.” This could be a possible clue considering the receiving corp we will have beginning next season. He also has the size our coaching staff seems to like which is one reason we passed on offering the Carthage qb. And he is a "home-metroplex" kid. Which I think somehow plays into it aswell.
  7. This sounds about right. Again, congratulations to Middle Tennessee for landing the Armed Forces Bowl. Its a good get for them. They won 5 straight to go 8-4 on the season after we defeated them at Apogee. Good luck MTSU. Go C-USA.
  8. Seems Boston College is more interested in playing in the Heart of Dallas bowl.
  9. I know you're right. I'm with you on it all the way. I feel your frustration. That's why your post was so funny to me. Dig?
  10. UTSA played Rice tougher and closer than Marshall did.

  12. Love it. Coach Mac is our leader and is taking us to the promised land. Go Mean Green.
  13. Excatly. So good to have a team full of players you caf root for as people as well as athletes. “Brandin is consistent and tough,” McCarney said. “Everyone says he doesn’t have this or that and isn’t flashy. He’s productive and has as much character as anyone in this program.” UNT has a senior class full of guys who contribute to an overall character that has been so important for the Mean Green. That pretty much sums it up. Good stuff. Congratulations Bradin on a career day.
  14. I agree with you, SouthBendGreen. We were playing Tulsa with our hair on fire. I have watched the game 4 times already. And here are a few of more points to add to your observations. 1. Special Teams play was outstanding. They really got the momentum rolling for us. The 1st blocked punt gave us good field position which we converted into our first touchdown of the game. And the 2nd blocked punt turned into an instant touchdown that put us up 14-10. That TD knocked the wind out of Tulsa and kicked us into another gear.. 2. The offense was as equally fun to watch as the defense. The O-line, the running backs, the tight-ends, the receivers, and Thompson were all working together and making plays. Even McNulty threw a halfway decent block for a qb on Jimmerson's second TD run. And another thing that is obvious when watching the game over and over is that Smith, Byrd and Thompson may not be the flashiest players, however they can get the job done. And they did just that this season. 3. The Mean Green fan noise was incredible. One can clearly hear our fans chanting, singing, and yelling in the background. And that, my friend, is simply awesome. Hearing cheers for UNT and the Mean Green as we play in another school's stadium is priceless.
  15. Way to represent. I heard Coach Mac say that by the end of the game our contingent of fans simply took over the stadium. Go Mean Green Nation.
  16. The UNT game against Tulsa will be replayed tonight at 7pm on FoxSportsSW and on FSN in its entirety.
  17. I saw DT scramble 26 yards for the game winning touchdown against Ball State (10-2).
  18. We did lose. Yes, it hurts. Maybe they were the better team today because they had more fire. And maybe the condescension of their program from our side fueled that fire. In any case, they did not piss on our field like a certain Rice player did. They beat Tulane and they beat us. They simply want respect. We also want respect. Larry Coker, the two time national coach of the year, simply had them ready to take what they wanted. And they did. My people can tell you, history favors victory more than sportmanship.
  19. Enjoy the Denton scene, Digi. We will be enjoying the San Antonio scene next year with a win of our own.
