  1. We will win the game. And you can put that in 3 inch headlines.
  2. Excellent work. Keep the drive alive, meangreener. You really are making an impact. Suggestions: Consider working in "Mean Green Football" and "Conference USA" to make an even a greater impression.

  4. Stopped by Bottlecap Alley for the first time after the Ball St. game. Cool place. Organizing a watching party in Grapevine is a great idea.
  5. There was great coverage of our win over LaTech on CBS Channel 11 News and on ABC Channel 8 News. Both newscasts showed highlights on our game. The CBS sports anchor used the phrase "the revitalized Mean Green" in their coverage. And the ABC newcast showed UNT's game highlights before it showed SMU's.
  6. The NORTH TEXAS cheer was clearly audible on the CBS Sports broadcast of the game.
  7. The tide is indeed turning, my friends. The clues are appearing everywhere.
  8. Yeah, good to see Idaho get the win over favored Temple. Go Vandals.
  9. Incredible run, Brelan. Congratulations. Absolutely fantastic play by our special teams. Good catch on the audio, Christopher Walker. More of Brelan and the Mean Green on ESPN.go http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/249/north-texas-mean-green "Brelan Chancellor. . . and he turns on the jets. MEAN GREEN!" - the announcer doing the highlights. The video starts automatically. It's titled "Georgia Outlasts North Texas".
  10. "Perception is reality." - Axioms of Truth. CBS Channel 11 News, ABC Channel 8 News, and NBC Channel 5 News all gave huge props to "The Mean Green of North Texas" last night. Every sports anchor made a big deal about our performance in the game against Georgia. And every one of them showed the highlights of us scoring all three touchdowns against UGA. NBC gave us the lions share of the sports coverage. CBS and ABC gave us equal coverage time in relation to UT-Austin, TTU, and TAMU. Each anchor said phrases like, "What's happening up in Denton" and "Go Mean Green". It was the most coverage I have ever seen UNT receive from all the local newscasts on a College Football Saturday night. On ESPN, after the UT-Austin and KSU game, the ESPN anchor said, "Georgia survives North Texas" as he began the recap of the game. It was great to see all the positve and respectfull coverage. It was obvious that the local sports anchors were genuinely excited about reporting on how well our team did. Because of our huge and respected RTVF program, we have alot of alumni that work in all areas of the media. And they are part of "The Sleeping Giant." And they are hungry to report on a winning Mean Green Football program. In order for one to move forward, one has to buy into the future. He who lives on the past, dies looking backwards. The paradigm shift in perception for our university to grow now and in the future is: We are THE University of North Texas. As the people believe, the giant awakes.
  11. UTSA put the hurt on UTEP 32-13 in El Paso for there first C-USA win.
  12. Interesting number comparisons used in this article. "The improvement of quarterback Derek Thompson has been a large reason for the Mean Green's success. The senior is completing greater than 70 percent of his passes for 818 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. He is also a threat to move outside the pocket (85 rushing yards, TD)." "The unit is led by Heisman hopeful Aaron Murray, who has completed 71.2 percent of his pass attempt for 632 yards with five touchdowns (one rushing) and an interception. All of Murray's passing scores came against a strong South Carolina defense last week." And. "Zachary Orr has proven himself to be one of the top linebackers in the nation in the early going, recording 32 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Marcus Trice, Lairamie Lee and Kenny Buyers have all registered multiple takeaways as well." "Amarlo Herrera leads the squad with 24 tackles with a forced fumble. Sterling Bailey has 14 stops and recorded one of the team's three sacks." And again. "While the Mean Green defense looks solid in terms of scoring (20.0 ppg) and yardage (437.3 ypg) numbers, their biggest asset is their propensity for the big play, having recorded an outstanding 11 turnovers, tied for the most in the FBS." "While the UGA offense has been as advertised, the defense has greatly underperformed, allowing teams to amass more than 460 yards per contest and 34.0 ppg. Unlike the Mean Green, the Bulldogs have not forced many turnovers, with just a pair of fumble recoveries counting towards their takeaway total."
  13. We will have 30K for the UTSA game. 10K of which will be from UTSA.
  14. On a side note, another Mean Green player received C-USA honors this week. Rachel Holden was named C-USA Player of the Week for the second time this season. Holden got her second hat trick of the year in UNT's 5-0 drubbing of OU in Norman. http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/091613aaa.html Once again, congratulations to both our players. GMG.
  15. http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/091613aaa.html Congratulations Rachel on your second hat trick and your second C-USA Player of the Week Award this season.
  16. "Thompson accounted for 346 yards of total offense and two touchdowns, leading North Texas from an 18-point deficit to a 34-27 win over Ball State. Thompson tied a career high with 47 pass attempts, completing 31 of those for 274 yards with no interceptions. He also ran for 72 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put North Texas in the lead for good. That game-winning TD run was also the longest rush of his career." Congratulations DT. Much deserved.
  17. That winning touchdown run by DT is just great. He breaks past one tackler, then eludes another, and then simply runs past the remaining Ball St. defense. Awesome. GMG.
  18. So good to see us beat Ball St. live and to see the game again on a rebroadcast. Great TV coverage. We looked sharp. You could really hear the hits our defense was putting on the Ball St. players. And so good to see us crush OU on TV as well in a 5 - 0 shutout. Our women's soccer team is simply awesome. More top 25 votes for us in the near future. Good times. GMG.
  19. Our women's soccer team is a top 25 team. Mark it.
