I seemed to care more for the program when I could suspend reality and convince myself we could play with the the OU/TX or the world because we WERE playing them consistently. Now I get asked by people if we even play those teams, like "is UNT even FBS?" since we get no coverage at all. I'd take 1.5M for a loss and some recognition that we exist. But what do I know?

Or as noted, cell coverage and radio suck on game day near the stadium. Or when driving home from the game and varsity network is not on Google Auto natively, so reaching around in the dark to pull up phone is not the best move to either. Should keep my eyes on the road and ears on the radio. So - perhaps it doesn't solve everyone's problems?

The only problem with this is the lack of cell data when at the games. But... we know that. Hopefully they get some WiFi in the stadium as a part of their AAC money move.

The difference is - Portland State was making some noise back then - they finished off 9-3. TSU has no noise. It would be far worse to lose to TSU.

Sad that Aune had to get 7 tackles. Playing two way football really affected his accuracy late in the game. Nice to have Torrey and Murphy twins back though.

This is just not true. The BRAND is worse in the last 6 years. There's no excitement. We can't even sell out a local bowl game in a tiny ass stadium. You can't give tickets away to this brand. How was the attendance to the CUSA basketball championship game? How about the coach roadshow? How's that branding? 5 years ago the SMU game drew 29,500. We didn't sniff that today. It's pathetic. I want to you look up the word "compete." We won't be doing that next year. The low hanging fruit of making sure people feel they're getting their money worth on game day is just a fail dog.

If people are still complaining, you're ok. It means they still have care somewhere in their being. But as I waited 30 minutes to not move down Bonnie Brae to my assigned parking - I just found myself being done. I'm just so tired of how assed everything is with our program. I ended up paying $25 to park in the red lot, so my kids and their friends could catch kick off. I could see there was ONE person letting people into the assigned lot. ONE. There were no traffic cops. I will ended up missing kick-off because the damn electronic ticket machine by the AD can't read NFC and i have to swipe though 7 hub club tickets. Then I have to swipe through 7 hub club tickets to get into the club.... Only to have to swipe though them again once I'm at the top. Give me my damn tickets to wear around my neck. My kids don't have phones. Their friends don't have phones. Jesus. For the face price of the ticket, you'd think it would come gold plated. There's never ice in the drink machine. There's never paper towels in the bathroom. The game is never on the radio. It's just a clown show and I'm tired of shelling out over $1000 a game to not only see absolute shit on the field - but stuff 100% controllable - is rarely good. I'm just spent on spending for this crap. The product is terrible. I'm in an abusive relationship with this program. I can't leave because for some reason I have good memories here and there.. but nothing recently. Just people looking at me blank stared when I try to give tickets away "but it comes with catered dinner, comes with parking pass, don't worry about that $200 ticket price - I just want them used." Nothing. I can't even give them away. I've seen people walk away over the years and i never really got it. I'm starting to get it. Why do I have to dry my hands on the back of my shorts and slip and slide on pee in the bougie hub club? Anyhow - how about that product on the field? 😅

I don't think we can hear the game in Denton though. The cell coverage is for the birds in the suites, no public wifi in the hub club and KNTU doesn't carry it live anymore (right?). I stopped bringing my radio device to games a few years back because I just couldn't pick up anything. Maybe it has changed and I can bring a pocket radio again. The last guy in America with a radioshack radio headphones...

I feel like I am in an alternative universe, but Shorter hasn't really played too much in his career. He had a good year two years ago, but averaged 2 catches per game. He has 2 career games over 100 yards. He averaged 35 yards per game that year. His best game was with 5 receptions. He benefitted greatly from having other NFL WRs on the field at the same time to take the primary defender coverage. So with all of that, are we collectively placing too many expectations on him? MVP of the team? Need to tap the breaks a little? First things first, we need a QB that doesn't launch the ball over his head and out of bounds.

Seems we say that every year at this point in the season. We never seem to age into experience. I don't follow other teams really, so I can't say if that is the norm or not. But every year "we have a 'stable' of RBs and we are have a ton of youth with talent."
