If any of the FBS, AQ conferences come calling, you take it as fast as you can. Yes, even the B12 if it's still operating as an AQ conference. TCU wrote the book on how to move up the food chain. They are in the Big East and could easily continue to move up the AQ good chain. Personally, I think all the great things happening at UNT Athletics are about 10-15 years too late. Regardless, I'll be at the UH game in our new stadium.

And to get consistent signature wins, UNT has to recruit and develop FBS size players. Coach McCarney has made this his mission from the get go. He gets it. Currently, we are too small to really compete for those signature wins.

Univ of Texas think they are larger than all of college football. A & M needs to take care of themselves and the SEC would be great for them. Texas, on the other hand, will do anything, sever 100+ years of tradition for themselves to succeed above all others. Sumbitches need to take a fall!

Does part of the $1 million include services to the university? Meaning, not all of it will be cash.

This is how I've wanted North Texas athletes (football) to be portrayed for many years. Gosh this is good stuff- makes me so proud. Now if we can just get the players to rid themselves of headphones/earphones, iPods, etc., during the Mean Green Walk. Need to interact with the fans.

Boone is a man amongst boys in those videos. He is definitely the poster child for "finishing the play". In the videos he burys every defender he was up against.

That is some great recruiting information. I am so pumped with all that is going on with UNT Athletics- the stadium, McCarney, Canales still on staff, and all the new coaches. I know we have to win on the field first, but I believe, for the first time in many years, including the "Great Darrell Dickey" years, that we are in prime position to move this program forward and upward. I truly believe that.

He said he had not signed a free agent contract with anyone yet, but that he is talking to Jacksonville." Thought Craig was going to forgo the Pros and go to grad school? Hope he gets picked up by the Jags and gives the Pros a try.

Only drawing from pictures I've seen on the web, but I've always thought that East Carolina has one of the nicest, if not the nicest, non-AQ stadium in the country. And it's way nicer than many of the AQ stadiums. And......it's always full of fans! IMHO, the Big East should just pull the trigger and invite East Carolina as a new, full member. Big East candidates that we hear about, Houston, Memphis, Central Florida, don't hold a candle to EC.

Did Coach McCarney find a permanent residence in Denton or is he still living out of a hotel room? If the later, seems the University could find him a nice place to rent until he finds a home to his liking.

Now tell us which of those stadium ARE NOT on campus facilities? UAB, Memphis, Tulane, UTEP? And whats with the Rice stadium with fans in it? Photoshopped in???

I met George through Harry's original fan message board. George didn't know me from adam, yet graciously invited me up to Denton for a UNT basketball game. Lot of fun. For those that don't know him, he's very knowledgeable in all things related to UNT Sports. And he's was/is a pretty damn good CPA too! We may need a nickname for him- the Dean of UNT Sports, or better yet, The Soothsayer. Like someone else mentioned, George predicted the outcome of the Dodge hire before the ink was dry on the contract. Happy birthday, George. I'm proud to call you my friend.
