  1. If I ever need to go to that area I think Uber is a great option. Pretty convenient an inexpensive. In fact with Uber/Lyft etc I just think commuting to a lot of places just got that much convenient and easier.
  2. Forgive me if this has already been posted but per Brady Keane we should have the final results by 5pm today. Let's hope this sucker passes.
  3. As of now I'm going solo but the possibility of adding 2 more.
  4. SMU is a lateral move IMO. No I'm not a NT blowhard but outside of the DFW & older hardcore SWC fans, SMU doesn't move the needle at all. They're lucky their BBall program is doing great but other than that SMU isn't viewed as something great. All SMU has been able to do since the death penalty is still latch on to their old SWC affiliation and the fact that they have money and lots of it and some donors willing to do whatever it takes to get back to what they view as prominent. I think Morris kinda had a leg up even before coming to SMU...he came from a big time CFB program in Clemson, has been credited recruiting and developing Deshaun Watson and helping develop the what is now the Clemson juggernaut. SL on the other hand came from UNC but was/is nothing near what Clemson is. So I think even before coming to SMU & NT respectively I think Morris still had more of a leg up hype & viewpoint wise than SL IMO. If SL wants to leave then let him....my view of him wouldn't change one iota because such is life...people change jobs every day so they can get paid more, better opportunity etc and SL wouldn't be any different. As I previously said I'm more concerned about what WB has planned and prepared if that situation occurs than with SL leaving.
  5. If SL is mentioned as a possible replacement on every list then that means things are good and we're doing a good thing right now in FB. I wouldn't worry about it til it happens...I'll be more worried if WB is not ready with candidates and a quick/good replacement than about SL leaving.
  6. Flying out early Saturday morning. I'm pretty fortunate this time since my brother lives in NOLA and lives only about 15 mins from downtown. I'll crash at his place and I'll drive back with him the next day since he was planning on doing that anyways. For any of you that has the opportunity NOLA is a great place so you should definitely try to stay there a few days. Lot of great places to go and see and walk around.
  7. Yep. The negative perception comes from the absolutely suck coming from our athletics teams. You change that consistently the perception all of a sudden will increase.
  8. From the TV and pictures it really looks like a nice stadium and a place that'd be fun to watch a game. It might just be the colors of the seats that seem to make it more enhanced for me but yeah given FAU's location, they can definitely be a consistent good G5 team and build that fanbase & brand.
  9. Not a knock on FAU but I wouldn't be surprised if there's just as many if not more Temple fans at the game than FAU fans.
  10. 69-31 and 41-17 say otherwise. I really don't get how people can say only scheme and play calling is what led to this result. Why can't fans of all teams and sports just friggin admit and take a loss and say the other team just outplayed us and are just better than us. Somebody has to lose a game. It's a chess match folks...sometimes no matter the schemes results like these happen.
  11. I don't think I've ever had the dislike for Lane Kiffin like a lot of folks. Yeah he's probably done some questionable things but I think people forget or don't realize just how young he is. He's only 42 years old...not that much older than SL folks. He literally went from being a coordinator at USC to an NFL head coach at the age of 31-32. and we know his career path after that. The guy has done a ton, and been around a really really long time yet he's still pretty young. Kiffin has plenty of time to get any major CFB program if he so wishes. I think he's great for a program like FAU and great for the conference. I wouldn't want him to leave CUSA the same way people shouldn't want SL to leave UNT if they keep their programs trending upward.
  12. Just what exactly would you want and expect WB to say? Man I and many many people on this board know about our history of watching bad football, basketball etc. We've had a hell of a year and the future is potentially super bright here. I would say all of us are disappointed with how this game played out today especially after the first meeting with FAU but big picture RIGHT NOW I don't see why you're not happy. You must be a really fun guy to be around.
  13. Wisconsin lost to Ohio State 59-0 couple of years ago when WI was number 11. Few years prior to that Nebraska lost to Wisconsin 70-31 and both highly ranked teams. You might also want to check out results of the SEC championship games over the years....a ton of ass whippings. It's college football...routs just happen. That being said there's nothing wrong saying FAU is just the better team right now top to bottom...it's not a knock on our guys and our future/potential.
  14. I don't care what bowl we go to...I never have. I transferred to NT in 2004 and have been a die hard Mean Green fan since so I know how precious successful seasons are for us. As I've said before I could care less what bowl we go to and who we play against....I just want a game where we have the best chance to win which even then is no guarantees. Losing to a P5 by 50 doesn't do me any good. Regardless what happens today if we do end up in NOLA I'll most likely be there and I'll have a hell of a time in a hell of a town. Forget the game itself but think about the good memories and camaraderie that'll get created during those few days and life long friendships built etc especially in such a great place like NOLA. I think that's another thing that gets lost in all this. Just my opinion tho.
  15. So umm about all those people demanding and entitled that NT should play a bowl game against a better opponent or a P5 program..... FAU legitimately looks like a P5 or a far far superior team than us right now...you can't even call this a fluke since this is the 2nd time they're playing.
  16. I'm back and purchased my season tickets for the first time since the first season under Benny. Unfortunately due to other things I've only made it to one game so far which was against Rogers State. It felt great being in the arena again and I look forward to the team improving as the season goes on and I should be at the next game. It's just going to take time for the fans to come again...it doesn't help our OOC schedule is pretty meh and I'm pretty sure a lot of people have never even heard of these schools.
  17. Just marketing and trying to sell the public the product.
  18. Mike Leslie went up to Denton and did a story as well for WFAA
  19. I keep seeing posts that we should and deserve to be playing a P5...to me I want a bowl game that we can win. I'd rather win a bowl game vs a G5 than lose to P5. Winning is winning and it'll always feel sweet regardless of opponent. I'm by no means saying/assuming we will win our bowl game against a fellow G5 by any means but I think if we played a P5 and get rocked into submission it would look a lot worse especially to the fringe fans that we're trying to get interested next season and seasons forward. In addition to this we all know that everyone tries to get away from scheduling P5's against G5's. Just the way it is folks...no matter how much we may want one I just don't think it's super realistic we'd get it no matter how hard we try.
  20. I kinda think this all goes back to Phillip Fulmer. They should have never gotten rid of Fulmer and I just think they're still paying for that mistake IMO.
  21. I totally get the how SMU has some advantages but I just don't see SMU going SL nor SL being legitimately interested in leaving Denton for that job. I mean seriously people act like there's hidden/secret schools and programs out there where people don't know what's going on. I can assure you everybody knows what SL has done here in his 2 seasons and just because he goes to SMU won't give him any more of a leg up for a big P5 job than SMU. College athletics is nothing but an environment of vultures so the exposure thing to me doesn't really add up here. Other than cash and I admit that's a pretty big deal I don't see how SMU is that much better of a job than NT. We could be heading into uncharted territory in that we legitimately have shot at turning around the athletics program and the school perception...we're pouring more money into athletics and taking it seriously for once. We might just now how to handle all of this. If we consistently get 8-9-10 wins a season and flirt with top 25 polls I don't think there's any question we can sell Apogee out every week very easily. THAT will be a huge factor when another program wants to consider SL to lead their program. You do that at SMU and I still believe there's major issues with attendance and I'm not so sure that the city of Dallas would get behind them as Dallas' college team no matter how much advertising they do and shove it down our throats on the radio. And seriously it was a TCU blogger that threw this out there...we are getting trolled by one of our own and who happens to be the board's Czar.
