  1. Honestly, nothing could be done to help accommodate this young man? I can't believe this hasn't been an issue in the past where class schedules and team commitments conflict.
  2. I did and still thought that comment was over the top. I honestly believe this is our most complete coaching staff, with the correct attitude, since the Fry years.
  3. Sean Lee would pull up lame. Better go with someone else.
  4. Memphis takes Tubby Smith away from Texas Tech. Hmm, first Tuberville bolts for Cincinnati and then Smith to Memphis. Must make the Tech alums feel really good about their place in the Big XII. Didn't realize Tech was a stepping stone position. Maybe Tech would like an alum to come home to Lubbock.
  5. Since I am the one that posted that I thought I had read in the past that he was one of the fastest on the team, and everyone has decided he is not fast, I thought I would provide the following: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=97420&draftyear=2016&genpos=CB This lists his fastest 40 at 4.47, his slowest at 4.68 and his 40 time at 4.57. I would consider that fast. Getting beat deep has nothing to do with how fast he is, and everything to do with a number of factors such as play recognition.
  6. FYI From the original post: " I've already been informed by the athletic department that those particular helmets are long gone, so I thought I might as well ask around."
  7. Looking forward to the podcast. Ummm, if you don't mind me asking @Harry, who is Graham Douglas?
  8. Why? Vito stated in a recent blog entry that a record number of Lettermen attended to hear Littrell speak in Dallas recently. I realize you will do and say anything to degrade the program because of your infatuation with RV and the administration, but this is a distinct possibility.
  9. My thoughts and prayers are also with Kirby and his family. I, too, lost my father at a young age after an extended illness. It is never easy and things still pop up 30+ years later where I wish he were here.
  10. I thought Buyers was considered one of the fastest players on the team so I would assume this is why they are looking at him there. Also add to the fact that out depth is better at DB than WR.
  11. We just need to win and win consistently. I heard UNT was at a crossroad when Dodge was hired and when Mac was hired. We just need to pick the winning path and go that direction.
  12. What a B.S. response. Please ask the players on that team what it meant. UNT fans came out of the woodwork in DFW to go to that game. The season ticket problem falls at the feet of a poor recruiting head coach and an AD that allows that crap to happen and who has yet to show, in 15 years, that he knows how to capitalize on moments like that.
  13. Sorry, but this is a ridiculous answer to the problem. Apogee Stadium and all the athletic facilities, including signage around said facilities, falls under the direction of RV. I walk the facilities I manage daily, and although it is not my responsibility to conduct repairs, I report everything I see to the departments that are responsible.
  14. Very true. I should have gone back to the mid 60's, but I didn't want to show my age! Either way, we have always had defenses, regardless of size, that were known for being hard hitting and tough. The UNT/Navy game during the Dodge era was a whipping to suffer through.
  15. This post in confusing to me @FirefightnRick. You state this gives us a massive advantage, but in the next sentence talk about how a recruit's parents describe these camps as utterly disorganized, which seems like a disadvantage to me. Throw the gasoline that is RV on top of the fire Mac had started and it was even more of a mess. I guess, if run correctly, this can be an advantage for us.
  16. As rocket mentioned above, these camps were not even around 5 years ago and schools like So Miss, Marshall, La Tech seemed to do just fine. These camps were a way to gather a bunch of prospective players together and evaluate them. It was efficient and a great tool for a lazy recruiter like Mac and many on his staff. For the P5, like Michigan and Harbaugh, they were nothing more than a way to come in to a rivals backyard and ruffle some feathers. Recruiters that work hard will be rewarded. Those that don't, won't.
  17. Thanks Silver. I agree UNT Fan 92, I like what I am hearing about the defense. Historically since the late 70's, we may not consistently win but we always had a defense that would slap their own momma. Outside of the Dodge years and last, this has been consistent and something I love to watch. My one fear with the hiring of Littrell wasthat the D might get ignored to some degree, and I am thankful this does not appear to be the case.
  18. @Harry or @SilverEagle or anyone else attend that has some thoughts or observations?
