  1. And the SMU infatuation continues. Looks like the Peters commit was a replacement for Raveon.
  2. Hope he has full stock of warm weather.
  3. Denton, although the same size or smaller than many one school towns, has three high schools with a fourth on the way. People follow the teams their kids attend instead of the whole town turning out to see one team. I grew up in and played sports in Denton and never felt we were not supported.
  4. I would hope so considering it was 5 years ago.
  5. Looks like our coaches are hitting the highway 290 corridor in Houston. Makes sense since it takes a couple of days to navigate that traffic.
  6. @UNT90, here's your chance to talk directly to the Pres.
  7. Lee Jackson is handling this without supervision? Not sure if I still think this will be a great deal for UNT.
  8. Coach Fry left because of the lack of bowl opportunities for us at the time and the inability to get past the politics of joining the SWC. The Story of the Liberty Bowl officials coming to Denton, watching a game played in front of a small crowd in a downpour is the reason given, but I never thought he was faultless. I liked Coach Fry, but is also pulled us out of a conference before securing a future home for us. In hindsight, he could have left us in the Missouri Valley Conference with the likes of Memphis State, Cincinnati, etc... until he was able to secure a spot in the SWC. When that didn't happen, we could have had the chance to go CUSA with our conference mates. There is no telling what would have happened. It all could have played out the same way, but I thought it was indicative of Fry's large personality the way he handled that situation. It was all or nothing with no back up plan. Fire away from those that believe when he arrived in Denton, he said "Let there be light."
  9. Because Tuscaloosa, Fayetteville, Auburn, Starkville, Pullman, etc... are population meccas.
  10. Would you mind sharing what brand you bought? I have been looking at would love a review of the one you purchased. I used ESPN3 quite a bit until last year and it would never accept my cable carrier information. It then became very frustrating.
  11. Not disagreeing with you, just don't understand the infatuation with social media and posting everything one does at all hours of the day.
  12. Like seeing Littrell is serious about the student part of the student-athlete equation: Good to hear. I think this staff is outworking the previous staff by leaps and bounds: Good news: To be expected, but as much as I hate it for these talented players, Benford doesn't have the ability to get this team to that level of play. Women's basketball will kick ass.
  13. I will have to disagree with this assessment since Dan signed Akunne, Scott, Finney, Garner, and Montgomery that all were on the downward side of 6'.
  14. You seriously hijack a thread about issues with sexual assault and rape at Baylor to inject your tired diatribe about UNT. Unbelievable.
  15. Another list of schools, minus 2 or 3, that we should easily be able to recruit with on any day. http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Josh-Thompson-91359/RecruitInterests
  16. Maybe we are on the phone with these kids or visiting their campus, outside of the almighty Allen HS, and conducting stealth operations. Maybe Morris is all flash and no substance? I mean, he is at the University of All Flash and No Substance. Seriously, I know social media is the big thing with today's youth, but it is something I just don't understand. I have watched people lose the ability to comfortably speak to a person because it is easier to send a text or tweet.
  17. At 10th now, but won't move up any higher. Good season by a young team. Look for improvement next year.
  18. I would guess that drew around 25,000 at home during the height of their cheating success. We always seemed to play them in Texas Stadium in front of large crowds that were about 50/50. Actually, in 1982, the year they were rank 1 or 2 they averaged 42,000 or so at Texas Stadium understanding that the two largest attended were 50,000 vs. A&M and 60,000 vs. #9 ranked Arkansas. Both of these teams probably were responsible for half of the tickets sold. Outside of this, I would guess my early estimate was about right. FYI, they were ranked #7 at the time we played them and the game drew a little over 30,000. They won 38-10. I was there and we were responsible for at least half of the attendance.
  19. You actually believe this? This is sexual assault of numerous young ladies that points to a lack of control in the athletic department, or a lack of checking out the character of the young men that they bring to campus to play ball and represent their university. Again, sexual assault, not petty theft.
  20. Two years ago they brought maybe 200 to Apogee. Two sat in front of me on the alumni side, sat on their hands and never said a word.
  21. The original post regarding the accounting scandal that was responded to was Army of Dad's. A few posts later you agreed with his post. Not that hard to figure out. I will respond, like now, when you address me directly. I did respond to this thread because I found it sad that you started a thread, responded to your original post and then hijacked your own thread. Carry on, I'm out.
  22. I disagree. Looking at his offer list on 247, there is not a team on there that we should not be competing with in recruiting. Let's go sign him.
  23. The accounting response was in reply to your comments not a hijack. Tiresome, so tiresome.
  24. Team tied for 9th and Churchman fell to 10th. We are playing two juniors, a sophmore and two freshmen. There are no seniors on the entire team so we should be in good shape moving forward.
