  1. This young man will be a monster by the time his senior year rolls around. Anyone ever notice he looks like Darnell (Eddie Steeples) from "My Name is Earl." Since Jason Lee now owns an eating establishment in Denton, I wonder is he would sign on for a promotion and a "My Name is Earl Night?"
  2. 1. Griping about what people wore to the game is ridiculous. 2. Griping about the lack of effort to market the "Black Out" and the overall lack of effort to market the basketball program by the AD is something worth discussing. For example, I never saw anything from the AD, so I would assume the message missed a lot of people. Unfortunately, this is typical of how the basketball program is marketed/not marketed. This "idea" should have been finalized prior to the season, placed on the schedule, announced around campus for weeks, etc... A tweet and a Facebook post the day before the game is last minute and poor planning. 3. I did find it funny that this was the idea after Benford's us against the world quotes. Reeks of the same reasons DD had the football team wear all black in his last game coached here. 4. Good wins by the MBB team, but with Benford leading the way, I see an early exit from the CUSA tournament.
  3. Oh no. He's resorted to name calling again but don't dare turn the tables or you shall feel his feeble minded wrath.
  4. Not sure considering this appears to be a Chico/Mac recruit.
  5. Jabroni?? What are you, a WWE starter kit? Not that he needs my help, but your comment above is way out of line. You may not agree with all he posts, like his point of view, etc... but KRAM has done more, spent more of his personal time and raised more money for the athletic department than 99% of the people on here or in the alumni association. Some day you may learn to appreciate what others have done, like KRAM, and realize your juvenile remarks and name calling are inappropriate.
  6. I knew, as a donor, that contact with a recruit is not allowed, but I didn't realize that stretched to the coaching staff as well. Is that correct, or am I reading this wrong?
  7. Guess we shall see how solid that commitment to KU is with Mr. Polley.
  8. Not sure that is anything to hang your hat on. Back when Brown was coaching the 76'ers I worked at the Baylor-Tom Landry Center. Our facility was the practice facility for the Mav's and visiting teams would come practice there. The day the 76'ers arrived, Iverson comes walking through our lobby dressed like a moron dropping F bombs left and right in front of any and everyone. I approached Coach Brown and asked if he could ask Iverson to tone it down when in front of our members, ladies, etc... Brown looked at me like I was from outer space. If he was Iverson's father figure, he failed. He had zero control over Iverson or that team.
  9. The Big 12 will not be expanding this summer. This is sports page filler that shows up every year.
  10. I hate SMU for a number of reasons, too numerous to post on here. I laugh at the thought that the Big 12 is even entertaining allowing SMU back in to the big boy's club. Ain't gonna happen. UT led the break up of the old SWC because of the small privates. I mean, who wants to be defined by small privates anyway. Baylor had the political clout to not get cut and it took them years to get up to speed, and I would be pretty comfortable in stating that they will come under investigation before too long. SMU's self perception and reality are way, way off.
  11. Your lack of knowledge of the area has skewed your view. Outside of the public transportation issue, you missed on all the others due to lack of knowledge.
  12. The memorial service is Friday at Denton Bible Church for those interested. There is also a nice article on Coach Carrico in the Denton Record Chronicle linked below. http://www.dentonrc.com/local-news/local-news-headlines/20160215-carrico-hailed-as-unsung-hero.ece

  14. Denton roads have always sucked. Denton's crime has always been under-reported considering it is where the two segments of I35 merge to head north.
  15. Funny how a couple of years ago you were trumpeting the signing of the SMU and Army deals. Just because you now don't like these deals doesn't make them bad. A service academy, member of a good G5 conference that is local and that we dislike, an FCS and a P5 is pretty typical outside of us getting a P5 in Apogee.
  16. And you call out other people for name calling. Wow.
  17. Made me laugh until I remembered doing the same. That stuff was better than Ducolax!
  18. First, thank you "flyonthewall" for setting the record straight. This post above is 99% on target. The part in bold is off target if you look at our history. Very good teams back in the Snake Pit/Missouri Valley Conference days and during the Blakely era of the 70's. Hit and miss since then with a few Southland titles and Johnny Jones late run in the Sun Belt. I have followed this program since birth, late 60's are my earliest memories. The historical lack of commitment from the administration is something RV had to overcome and I applaud him for sticking with this for as long as he has considering it had to be shocking upon his arrival. I do believe it is time for some new blood in the department though and fresh approach to moving us to the next level.
  19. Yes: get people to Denton. No: Arlington does not suck.
  20. You are quickly learning that if you don't go along with their way of thinking, then you are just spouting excuses. Lesson #2 is UNT90 will throw out obscure references and turn every post in to a "see, I told you so" or "I was right all along" themed response to continue with his tired old act. I have even stated that I thought it was time for RV to go, but he still refers to me as a sympathizer because I don't go along with his childish antics. You will learn to ignore most of it over time.
