  1. I agree, especially with what I put in bold in your quote above. We've had success in the past with the likes of Pruitt, Galbreath, etc..., but we aren't in a position to dictate ultimatums. We must be patient and stay in contact with these young men.
  2. What's the point of this thread anyway? We would have been thrilled with an invite to a bowl, any bowl for that matter. Looks about like the Super Dome did during our New Orleans Bowls, so why are we wasting bandwidth to run down a program many of could care less about? Smacks of envy and I think that reflects poorly on us as fans of NT.
  3. Reread Dallas Green's post up until the TCU/Wisconsin comments. I believe this is the main point of his post, or at least what I took from his post. JUCO's are a gamble for the same reasons that lead most of them to a JUCO in the first place. We don't need another Alonzo Horton situation.
  4. You two are missing Dallas Green's point.
  5. Leave it to North Texas to allow someone to alter traditions so that they can leave their mark. How about doing something original instead of altering another person's work? I would like the Fight Song played as intended and in a style that allows our musicians to "show their chops."
  6. Probably attended as many classes at Houston Yates.
  7. Thank goodness, an original topic to get us through the off season.
  8. I just want to know where all the naysayers are that were down on Knox earlier in the year. Good job Ben! It is always nice to prove those wrong that doubted you. I foresee a double double with at least 5 blocks against the Cajuns.
  9. I love that we have talked Young in to a visit, and it would be something if we could land him over a Big Ten school, but the WR also intrigues me. Good size and speed.
  10. Thanks for the update Cooley. What kind of speed does he have at 235-240 pounds? As a DE, I would expect our HS signee's to redshirt unless they are head and shoulders above AK, Obi, ect...
  11. Something has to be up with him that is not being made, or able to be made, public.
  12. The Sam Houston game showed the team what happens when they overlook someone. I don't expect that to happen again this year. Undefeated in conference play.
  13. I chose the hiring of McCarney, because, to me, this was finally an indication that NT is serious about being a committed athletic program.
  14. Maybe I should have titled this thread "Are any of these DT's worth recruiting to NT?
  15. Any day SMU loses is a great day in my book.
  16. Craig Way graduated from North Texas also.
  17. What HS or JUCO backup has been offered a scholarship and been a successful D1 QB, whether at NT or somewhere else? I am sure there are a few, but that seems like an awfully big gamble to take when there are capable players that were starters out there.
  18. Everyone has outdrawn TSU-SM. And I thougth they travelled so well.
  19. I only queried JUCO DT's, since we need immediate help, but I would expect us to sign a couple of HS DT's also.
  20. Yep, and the MAC schools are all recognizable to me.
  21. Scout.com: Uncommitted JUCO DT's. Rivals These are the JUCO DT's listed as uncommitted.
  22. I hope Draylon Ross gets a chance like Waters did. Their careers at NT, to me, are eerily similar with both moving around from D-Line, to O-Line to TE and never really finding a home. My favorite thing about Waters is that he appears to be a better man than a better person, and that is saying something.
  23. Let's remember that he is innocent until proven guilty. I know absolutely nothing about the case, but I also know there are people out there that will do anything to make a buck and athletes out there that think they are above the law.
