Purdue RB Reggie Pegram transferring to UNT
UNTLifer replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Sashington was moved to RB? Interesting considering our depth issues in the defensive backfield. I'm glad to have Pegram, but it is far from a guarantee that he will start. He was a two-star coming out of HS just like the rest of them, so this will just increase the competition. My sleeper, taking into consideration I expect the freshmen to redshirt, is Whitfield from Sherman. He looked dynamic on his HS videos.- 18 replies

You won't find a more quality person than Coach Carl Sheffield. Proving to be a great coach and a great representative of North Texas. Yes, I know him personally, but he has and will do a great job.
-
The problem is that his private life can lead to a multi-game suspension and that has an effect on the team and his on the field performance. Sign him, but put a clause in the protect the team in the event a relapse. Not a relapse like the one the past off season, but a relapse to illegal drugs that leads to him squandering his career. As a player, he is incomparable. A true five tool player that makes the game look extremely easy. If he stays clean, the sky is the limit. There is not another player in his category. A-Rod wishes he had the overall talent of Hamilton. He reminds me of Griffey Jr. when Griffey Jr. was in his prime.

Happy birthday Harry. I hope you had a great day, and as many have said, thank you for all you do for our alma mater!

Love his attitude. He was not happy about coming in 4th. I will post the article tomorrow, orbit someone else can tonight if they want. It is in the Midland Reporter Telegram today.

To answer the question posed in the title of this thread, yes, if they are transferring away from North Texas, and no, if they are transferring to North Texas.

UNT swaps players (Odoh, Robinson out, Coleman, Hardwick in)
UNTLifer replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I thought Odoh was a sophmore, so picking another JUCO or staying at Hill JC is not an option, unless I am mistaken. -
I thought the only reason was availability and cost. Were there other reasons? The PEB was built for facilities and classroom space, but there is still a need to use the Men's Gym/Snake Pit. I don't understand the "reasons" given for not having a center court scoreboard. The SP originally had one and with new technology, they should be lighter today than in 1973.

As El Paso Eagle states above, the Men's Gym is utilized for classes throughout the day and is another university owned facility. Athletics will always have to schedule around other events which has been a problem with the Super Pit forever. The Super Pit was a great addition to campus, but to get it built back in the early 70's, since there was absolutely zero fundraising for athletics, it was a university owned facility with classroom facilities, etc... down below. Athletics needs their own facilities so they can be used at their discretion and not the university's. Having to schedule games around robotics competitions, graduations, etc... is ridiculous.

This. I like Hardwick, but on this team we need more bigs, not more PG's.

I'd rather have Coleman and Odoh. -
Cowboys expected to sign North Texas FB Jamize Olawale
UNTLifer replied to StealthEagle84's topic in Mean Green Football
They said he played linebacker at North Texas instead of WR. I hope he does well. I always heard he was a great athlete, but had a hard time learning to run the correct routes. I wish him well. -

$1.4 billion endowment: How's that worked out for you the past 20 or so years? Tier One Ranking: I may be mistaken, but I think only UT, A&M and Rice are Tier One Univeristies. Big East: good luck with that. The Big East has multiple issues and you don't have an opponent, outside of UH, in the immediate vicinity. 12,000 at football games will continue and BB will get hammered in the Big East. Presidential Library: Be happy Bush decided to "retire" to Dallas. June Jones: hope he's not too busy with his inner-city ministry (still looking for that one, btw), trying to entice a bigger school or not being truthful to recruits. Larry Brown: is their a Luby's close to campus? If history repeats itself, you all will be on probation in 3 or 4 years with a former North Texas coach leading the way. Sorry, but I wish nothing but failure upon SMU. By the way, I grew up in the Methodist Church and am embarrassed that your school is affiliated with the church.
