  1. We constantly are being told the reason why Brent never gets to play in games is because he is evaluated in practice does not perform as well as DT. That may be the case but could there not be the chance that he is a better game performer and not a good player in practice? How are we to know that when he never gets that chance? When your QB comes right out of the gate and throws an INT to start the game I think you have to wonder if he may have an off night. It sounds like McNulty is redshirting this season so I can understand that they don't want to use him. My point is if things aren't going well, mix it up do something different. GMG
  2. There were a couple of good news tidbits to come out of today's Dan McCarney press conference. Here goes: – The big news that came out of left field is that backup quarterback Brent Osborn is going to graduate this year and will not be back next season. Osborn never played much at UNT, but he is the Mean Green's No. 2 guy with Andrew McNulty spending the year as a redshirt. To me this is just another sign that Brock Berglund is going to make a run at the starting job next year. read more: http://meangreenblog...e-notes-7.html/ This post has been promoted to an article
  3. Vito released the two deep and there were a few surprises on it. I'm frankly surprised there haven't been more discussions regarding "Oz" being place ahead of McNulty post spring. It appears that Oz is starting to understand Coach Chico's system better. Frankly we may need both since Derek has battled injuries since he got here. In terms of eligibility, I think that Derek is a junior and will have two more years, Oz will be a junior and McNulty will be a sophomore but has a redshirt year left. If Oz could fill the #2 spot for us that might allow McNulty to get that redshirt year he missed back.
