It’s interesting because once they choose to leave my school I just don’t care. Don’t need to hear about their stats where they landed blah blah. Not upset they moved on. But they are gone. Interested who is excited to wear the patch next season. GMG

The hardest thing for me to adjust to as a fan is that every year is a crapshoot. I remember driving to Denton for the Cal game with friends saying, I have no idea what to expect. New quarterback new coach…that is every year now. Just need to see what shows up have some fun and hope for the best. Hold accountable if they don’t deliver but the days of having an idea of what to expect Labor Day weekend seem long gone. GMG

The Harris comparison is not far off. The Musers were talking this week that what you will have is a college pro league where Dillon Gabriel could realistically stay at OU making millions of dollars playing for the Sooners as a career. Harris would do that in a heartbeat. It’s a new world and we have delicious assets attributes. Need to maximize our population, location and connections to rise above the Utah States, Fresnos Boises and Iowa States of the world. All fine institutions but we have many benefits to offer. Conference affiliation is very soon not going to matter much. Hire the visionaries and activators and watch us soar. GMG

I don’t know about the MWC commish. The PAC 2 landed in her lap. She was about to hemorrhage one of her biggest brands and lose a target in SDSU and Gonzaga. Then the PAC fell apart. Two things with Aresco retiring we must evaluate: 1. Who is our new leader? Competent and a fighter, great. We have a lot going for us in the AAC. 2. If unsure about new leader do we entertain joining an expanded PAC that will include the MWC OSU WSU…we could take our talents out west along with UTSA and/or Texas State. I would think Tulane Rice Tulsa South Florida. Memphis end up in the ACC. I like our landing spot now but Mike was a big part of that. GMG

I don’t know, 12-0 is nothing to sneeze at unless you play boring offensive football. Liberty appears to play a fun style of ball. If they look like the Coastal of old they will be a fun watch. GMG

TCU ruined it for everyone. Nobody wants another “frog” in the final 4. Watching that fsu game was brutal. Horrible horrible horrible offenses. Gruesome. Nobody wanted to watch that team get pummeled on New Year’s Day. Plus you give up a spot. Last year was milk toast and this year does not appear to be milk toast with who will be fighting it out for the crown. Good news is you got a villian in the final 4. A cheater in the final 4. Cinderella and the Heisman Trophy winner in the final 4. A rags to riches story in the final 4. It’s absolutely delicious! 1. You cannot leave the best conference out of the playoffs. 2. You cannot piss off the religious football south. Could you imagine the boycott and disruption in the streets if you leave out of the core that drives your entire sport. 3. Louisville with their porn star mustache quarterback looked awful. They were soft soft soft. Running out of bounds instead of absorbing the hit. Leaving 3rd and 2 followed by tragic punt. Louisville overrated fsu the product of bad happenings late. 4. This will expedite fsu’s exit out of the ACC. SEC gets bids the ACC does not. 5. Alabama’s ability to get in the playoff ensures big boys will continue to play the beasts and not substitute Texas for Delta State. You CAN recover from an early season fall down. 6. I am also not convinced our schedule is going to be so easy. ECU FAU Navy Tulsa South Florida all aiming to get better like us. Trust, they see us as easy too. I too believe that if we see a repeat of this D under Caponi, both EM and Caponi should be let go. There are not years available to figure this out. Eric’s decision is his fate and I WANT him to build it HIS way. He must believe in all aspects and live with our record in 365 days. GMG

I didn’t miss anything. I invested, I am concerned about the defense. I will still travel to Denton, to watch parties and away games. Ive been doing that since ‘86. I don’t expect everyone to be sunshine and daffodils but there is some negative juju on this site for a team that never quit. We got blown out by smu and cal. The guys played hard and through some disbelief from the fans all year, me included. They finished on a high note. I’m celebrating an end of a season win rather than a disappointing bowl loss. No apoligies Fix the deficiencies in 2024 and keep building. GMG

Weirdest 5 win season ever. We’ve won 5 and it’s felt like mission accomplished and we’ve won 5 and it’s felt completely hollow. This is on the hollow side. But it’s still my patch. Still my logo. Still my team. I dragged myself to Denton often in wins and losses and it sucked more than it was fun. I watched at watch parties with disillusion and excitement. Again a strange 5 win season. But when it was good it was fun. I am hopeful for the future. Glad I invested in 2023 because the payoff will be sweet. GMG

An F for Morris is too low. I am disappointed but was highly entertained this season. Now this does not mean next year is better. It will be beast. Don’t know our schedule but if we have to go to UAB UTSA Memphis and get a visit from Tulane. I don’t know where 6 wins come from. But to complete the weirdest 5 win season I have ever been through with the Mean Green, and rallying the troops for two gut grit wins to end the season. He at least deserves a C. Hopefully he learned his lesson that you can’t lose in September and expect a stadium full of fans in October and November. It all hinges on September. Jared pleas press this and plan activities that get people there for 11a and 3p games in 98 degree heat. Swallow it. Prepare for it. Win it. Keep the MG Nation engaged in 2024. GMG

I’m rooting for smu on Saturday. I think smu Tulane would be a good game. But I also believe Tulane is peaking at the right time and will beat the ponies. Today was a fun watch. beat uab GMG

Yeah. Memphis is going to give them a bash to the head on the way out of the conference. Tulane vs Memphis for the conference championship. Is that a possibility? Tulane wins and reps but loses NY6. Though the stakes feel empty, can’t change my prediction, we beat Tulsa and UAB to finish 5-7. Caponi returns with extreme pressure on both he and Eric in 2024. They could both be gone in a year or prepping for a bowl game. 12 months flys by with pressure like that. Traylor heads to A&M but is mandated to bring in strong Coordinators to makeup for lack of his national name recognition. Love in that interview he speaks to how important a University A&M is to our State. He’s going to charm them into the gig with some parameters and mandates beat Tulsa GMG

Until we win one or two of these past 4 games I won’t believe it. Close was Dodge, close is Eric. Now I do think we beat Tulsa and UAB to finish 5-7. That frankly makes it more confusing because we didn’t beat one of the big 4. And while I am hopeful of this 2-0 record that UAB squad could be better than I give them credit for. Fire Caponi fix the defense and continue strengthening this nationally potent offense. Cannot hold back anymore. You seize your chances (Caponi) or get your chances elsewhere. All eyes on you Eric. Has Caponi been released yet? I thought as soon as we became non-bowl eligible he would be let go. This was a wasted season. Man what a disaster Neal has on his hands. Jared, Eric…it doesn’t seem like it should be this bad but it is. How on earth do you rebuild energy for this entire athletic department. Can’t have the money maker program shutting down in 14 days for too many years in a row. Those extra 3 weeks and planning for Frisco made all the difference in the world. So bizarre this season. The end is usually a disaster with new head coach coming in. This just fees long. September feels forever away. Glad I never have to watch us lose in Ford again or to smu in football again. gmg #fixit
