  1. Hate to break it to you, but NT has never been able to keep pace with the top tier of teams in terms of resources or overall quality. Plus if your current competition moves up and you don't than that is moving down not staying in place. What should happen and I believe will at some point is that there will be adjustments to NIL. No one likes it except the players and their agents. Probably not for decades, but fans will eventually dictate the change. When the fans stop caring because they won't support the new nomads of sports like the teams prior to NIL; there will be changes.
  2. Forget it, if NT moves down from D1. Competitive or not; being in the highest official classification has benefits. NT was in a league like this in the old 1aa days, and it was a nightmare in terms of coverage, support, and financially. I don't see any rationale why an official separation between P and G teams should happen. The P's already get most of the money and coverage. What do they have to gain?
  3. You seem to think clickbait is a derogative, I would assume everything posted is meant for someone to read.
  4. No way that Edwards should be that high. Would not be in my top 10. Definitely good player, but Edwards over Perry, Bell, Jones; he is not even close to their level.
  5. I have no doubt, that NT's style of play; hurts recruiting. Many if not most of players, care more about their personal stats. than wins. With NIL and players going to the highest bidder, I believe it is even more important for NT to keep their defense first game. NT is not going to get the super stars or even be able to keep the players that they develop. Play solid defense first basketball and keep the slow game to grind out wins. Hodge does direct a quicker more offensive game than McCasland did in his era at NT.
  6. Lateral, New Mexico averages over 13,000 attendance and has little competition for attention. Also went 26-10 last year.
  7. Not the game I expected to see. Team seemed in awe of the mighty aggies. Childers, I thought was NT's best pitcher early; now she looks like she has lost her confidence. The game was far from meaningless, it was a chance to demonstrate that NT is a quality team. It did just the opposite.
  8. Averaged 4.7 pts, 2.4 rebounds, 17 minutes a game for a 14-19 La Tech team With NT already with 2 hs guards signed, and most of last year's guards with eligibility left, I wonder about this signing.
  9. Obviously, we fans do not know; how could anyone know? It maybe an excellent assumption just based on NT apparently can't keep anyone, but there is no way to verify this. I can't believe that any of the AAC teams have a substantially edge in NIL funding other than Memphis and SMU. There is something else going on other than the NIL factor. Has anyone else noticed that there are a great number of players entering the Portal, but at this time; very few have been identified as committing or signing with another team. My guess or maybe just my hope is that NT is in much better shape than the fans recognize. Players have committed whether they are transfers, high schoolers, or those that have entered the portal and not found a better home.
  10. That is a trick question. Few players that sign at any school other than the very top tier (SEC, Big East, etc.) schools would not desire to be part of those elite programs. Likewise, by signing with any team that player has expressed his desire to play for that team. So there is no way, a kid? (player) would sign at any school if he did not want to be there. Maybe not his first choice or in his top hundred; but based on what is available to him; it was decided it was his best option.
  11. He gave a rationale for his decision, I doubt you have any idea how valid it is. Did you expect him to state that he was encouraged to leave? There is little chance, he would have started here from day one. That is only my opinion, speculation at best; the same as yours.
  12. I give, why is this humiliating? NT apparently didn't believe he was good enough to play here and released him to go elsewhere. He signed with Central Arkansas, not exactly a powerhouse. Although with NT losing about every player to the transfer portal and their current sleuth recruiting, it is impossible to access NT's strategy. I am hoping there is a strategy.
  13. Thanks for the above, that demonstrates whatever is going on at NT is unusual. Obviously, there is an explanation other than it is happening everywhere; because it is not to the extent it is at NT.
  14. Not kidding, you realize that all three programs you mentioned will have new coaches next year? If you did not notice, I qualified my statement by citing without a coaching change. Now start over, and give me examples of teams that have more turnover than NT without a coaching change.
