You think expectations are a little different at U of Miami?? They fire their DC for giving up 300 points. It seems that we will be keeping our DC and he gave up nearly twice as many against lesser competition. Miami 312 points / 26.0 per game NT 514 points / 45.1 per game

Greenexes, TD is not talking to the defense because he is busy calling the plays for our offense.

His defense cannot work on the High School level when the other team has superior skills and speed. It was on display last night in the SLC game. They are running the same defense. You cannot play man to man when the other team has more team speed. Miami Northwestern played different varieties of zone and they gave SLC fits. Miami had their way with the SLC man coverage. Mendoza needs to make some changes this year.

We currently do not have the speed or the athlete's to play his type of defense. He needs to mix it up and change his system to the current players. If he does not do this, we will have to score 40 - 50 points a game this year to have a chance to win. He is not known for being very creative. At SLC he played strictly man to man, he could do this because he had the athletes. At this level he must adjust with each and every game. To play man to man, you must have a excellent pass rush. Coach Mendoza does not even try to hide his coverages from what I have seen the first to games. Also, have you noticed how late he gets his call into the defense? He should know between 1 or 2 calls on each play because of down and distance, every team has tendencies. I like his enthusiasm and I will give him more than 2 games, but I need to see some adjustments during the games or at least hide his coverages.

Has anyone ever thought about doing a fund raising event for the summer unis?

Currently we do not have the athletes to play with the big boys and maybe the SunBelt. I hope Mendoza was playing a base defense knowing that any adjustments would not make a difference in the outcome and only help SMU prepare for this weekend. We will be able to tell more about the staff this week. However, we are still a couple of years away before DD and the boys have the athletes and players he needs to make his system work. KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!

I know of a kid in 9th grade at SLC, he has always wanted to attend Texas. Now he says that he wants to go to NT. I believe times are changing for NT.

You only get a 5th year if you redshirted anytime during your first four years. Whoever posted that does not know what they are talking about. You cannot receive money once your eligibilty is over.

He is getting a 1 day tryout. If they like what they see he will join them in camp. GOOD LUCK Johnny!!

Like I have said many times before, the Exes copied the athletic department. They just added the star. The athletic department has used a form of the interlocking NT for at least 50 years. Just drop the star and go forward. However, if the Exes fight the athletic department on this one. I will never give them another dollar.

A player that attends a 4 year school and transfers to a CC or JC must graduate from that CC or JC to be eligible at another university. If not, that player has to return to the original school.

Yes, but the Div. 1AA is not the same color green that NT is going to. If that was the color then I would be all for it. But we are going to something between the Flying Worm color and the Div. 1AA color. Basically Marshall green or Southlake Color green.
