  1. Saw this kid from the sidelines against Frisco Independence. He's a stud. This would be a great get! Glad to see we offered early
  2. I thought we had a transfer DT coming? Any news?
  3. all green w/ chrome, is my guess
  4. De Soto Cedar Hill Manvel North Shore Westlake / Lake Travis - one of them will have a top D1 prospect each year
  5. I was called within 30 minutes of the actual announcement. Who handles your account in the AD office? They have us split by last names.
  6. I do not like it much either, If we get asked we need to accept. Those 15 extra practice days will pay off next season! Especially with the younger guys and redshirts. Not to mention on the recruiting trail that we are bowling.
  7. I'm at the Wynn, hit them on the line +18 and the ML!!! Paid for my trip
  8. Yes, Leadership counsel chooses the unis this year. Plus we only have white shoes this year. Cannot wear black helmets and white shoes
  9. FYI, late change, we are not wearing black helmets this weekend. We will be wearing white. Also, the #1 question recruits ask: How many uniform combinations do you have? #2 - How much gear will I be issued when I arrive? ie. sweat suits, backpack, tennis shoes, t-shirts, shorts, etc. We may not like it, but times have changed and they all want some form of black in the equation. Unless you are BAMA or Penn ST. They all have some type of changes throughout the season even if very small.
  10. I watched this kid play against my son in HS baseball. Unbelievable athlete!! Runs like a deer. Great hands, I was surprised that TB moved him to the OF. With our lack of depth, he might be able to help in some capacity this year. To answer a previous question: He never enrolled at any college, so he should have 4 years of eligibility.
  11. I am a second generation lettermen. Our HOF is a joke! I am the first to agree that pre 2000 it was a good ole boy network (change was needed). Since then RV tried to make it accountable, but he and his group failed miserably. They have made it a Hall of Good. To there credit, they tried to make it all inclusive. But in doing this they have passed over many athletes in most sports that are more deserving. I am a firm believer that our HOF should be more on what you did at NT than as a Pro. We have many great athletes that have excelled as collegiate athletes and have not so great professional careers. However, we should still honor them for what they did as a NT athlete. I should never be considered for the HOF, but I have better statistics in my sport than 3 of 5 of this years inductees. I can name 25 athletes from 1960 to today that are more deserving. Until we have strict parameters on how we elect HOF candidates nothing will change. I hope the new AD department will honor those that have made NT great for all these years. If we do this, you might be amazed how much more support your would get from Lettermen.
  12. Lost TV revenue is hurting all C-USA schools. I believe there will either be budget cuts in our AD or we will continue to play at least 1 maybe 2 body bag games per year to make up for the lost TV revenue.
  13. I believe the Mean Green Club sent out an announcement. Plus they ran it on meangreensports.
  14. UNT90, you complain about the Littrell hiring in a earlier post. Who would you have hired?
  15. Still lives in McKinney. Great kid! I know he visited UNC a few times last year. I'm sure he and Littrell already had a relationship working. He is a great athlete with a nice arm.
  16. He started out at McKinney Boyd. Transferred to ESD last year.
  17. Juan Munoz former NT golfer wins Web.com event this past weekend. We have 1 player on the PGA Tour and 2 with full time status on the Web.com. This years team should be good.
  18. Dead period started at 12:00am til Feb 4. If a kid changes his commit it cannot be from any legal contact from the school.
  19. UNT90, please stop all of the negative comments! Everyone knows you hate RV. Try being positive for a change. I think we have a great leader for our FB team. These next few weeks are very important before signing day. Recruits do look at sites such as these to get the feel of the fan base. I would bet that our athletes spend less than 5% of their time with anyone in our Ath Dept., much less the AD.. People like you are why I try to stay of this site. Get behind our athletes! Stop all the negativity. Mean Green for Life!!
  20. It's all about recruiting! Nothing matters if whoever we hire does not do a better job of recruiting, period!!!
  21. Make that Men's Golf has 30 Conference Championships. Not sure how many the ladies have.
  22. Juan Munoz won the individual championship as well! Golf has the most Conference Championships of any sport at North Texas. This championship makes 30!! Congrats to the team and Coach Stracke! Good Luck at the Regional Championships
  23. Vito's blog is very good. Why are we not on first name basis with all schools in the Metroplex? Not just Argyle? I can name 3-4 6A programs within 30 miles of Denton that a NT coach has not been on campus or even been in contact with the HC or AD in a few years. This is crazy. This staff should visit every school with 60 miles of Denton. I do not care if it is 1A or 6A. You never know when school will have a stud or a sleeper. I get sick of kids going to La Tech, Rice or whoever, that we never even offered. I would talk to every 4 - 5 star in the Metroplex. I would let them know if things did not work out at their school of choice that they would have a home in Denton. I just think this staff has to work harder at recruiting and building relationships. As my grandfather once told me: Sometimes "It's not watch you know, it's who you know"
