Most of this discussion can be traced back to recruiting. We have to win some of those battles before we can win them on the field. If you look at most of our loses in recent years, we are outmatched up front. Both offensively and defensively. I am not talking about the UT's, OU's of the world, but Colorado St.,Memphis, Southern Miss, Tulsa, etc. They were a lot bigger than NT up front. We need to get some beef. I would like to see a recruit on campus for a visit that is bigger than our normal 6-2 lineman. These kids are out there. Right in our backyard. We need to recruit DFW better. Until we get bigger it will be difficult to get much better.

We will not be able to run against anyone until our line blocks better and our off. coord. has a better game plan. Very hard to run against 8-9 man fronts.

We cannot score enough points to win the SB.

FIU coach is Don Strock. Former NFL QB. He probably would not have taken the job for anything less.

From what I understand what we saw Saturday will be it. Nothing at mid field.

This is unbelievable!!! They did not run up the score. They kicked our a--! NT gave up from the top down. When you trail by 24 points in the 3rd qtr and it is 3 and 15 and you to not attempt a pass???? What does that tell your team??? As for returning the fumble for the TD? What are you going to tell a kid when he makes a great play? Run out of bounds? Fall down. Wake up. That kid busts his butt all week just hoping for a play like that. I bet any of you would have done the same thing no matter what the score was. I have watched NT football for over 35 years and have never been this disgusted. Hopefully our team and coaching staff can learn something from this defeat. MEAN GREEN for LIFE!!!

Use the play action pass more. It is wide open. Once MUTS got into the 46 in the 2nd half we had trouble running the ball. Tulsa will see this and use it to their advantage unless we make the necessary adjustments. Play action is WIDE OPEN, use it.

Moot, that is my point. Why should ULM have to suffer. Does NT not want to play Dec 3rd because it is too close to the NO Bowl date?

UNTGIRL, we would not move our ULALA game. It is ULM that is having to move 2 games, not NT. I believe that is the biggest hang up with getting this accomplished.

I think the big hold up is ULM moving 2 games. Why can't we just play them Dec. 3 and then they would not have to move their ULALA game. If it was us I bet that we would not move 2 games without getting some kind of compensation.

If they do move the game, we will not lose money. We will lose money if we do not play LSU. Also, DallasGreen they do not want to affect too many teams by moving games. They will only look at NT / LaMonroe. Unless, LSU wants to pay all involved monies as well.

The game would have to be rescheduled for Dec. 3rd that is the only date both teams have open. Monroe play LALA on Nov 19th. I bet that it is better than 75% that we play LSU on Oct 29th

Lions cut 15 players to get to 72. Booger was not one of them. According to their site they have to be to 53 by Sept 3rd.

Here are my 2 cents. Death Valley is a rough place for visiting fans. I have lived in 2 different SEC towns and had season tickets in both locations and still have my LSU season tickets. I lived in LA for one year and went to every LSU home game. They are relentless on the opposing fans, no matter who you are (Idaho, UGA,etc.) or what age. Because of this attitude toward the opposing fan, I have not made up my mind if I will take my family. I would love for my 7 and 10 year olds to experience the atmosphere of Death Valley, but I do not want them to be the targets of the LSU abuse. My oldest son has visited alot of great stadiums and games, but I am not sure that we/he can take what LSU will dish out. With this said, I can say that you will never experience tailgating like it is done at LSU. If they do not get there a few days in advance, they will be there by 8:00am for the 7:00pm kickoff. Hell, they even move Saturday night mass to accomdate their fans. Go to Baton Rouge and wear your MEAN GREEN PROUD!! Be ready to be called every thing under the sun. Have a thick skin. I will be there with mine, it just might be with 3 other buddies instead of my family.

PMG, the players including JQ are concerned about his durability. They do not question his desire or ability, just his inability to stay healthy. Your starting QB has to be a gamer.

The university came up with 2 new logos to go with the word marks this April. One is the eagle and the other is just the eagle head. Some in this thread keep saying that we need a marketable logo. Well, we have a logo. I am not sure that it is marketable.

If our defense can stop anyone we will be very competitive team this year. I believe that our coaching staff is wondering how effective this unit will be. The biggest question mark for this season.

CFN has NT ranked 4th nationally. Very nice to see them getting some recognition.

Byerly has not been in Denton all summer. I am willing to bet that you will not hear anything official from the Ath. Dept until just before Freshmen show up for fall drills.

The helmet I saw some months back had the North Texas side by side with the new font. It did not look that great. (Let me state, I saw this helmet by accident)
