He's big and will get bigger. Since that's about 98% of being a good OL then I think he's a good recruit.

Well.. this is good news I think. The Sunbelt just needs to take NMSU and Utah State. This will hobble La Tech's program (no reason for a 3rd LA school in our conference) and help ULL and ULM's recruiting. This will also kill the Texas State and UTSA threat which will give us 2 less schools to compete with in recruiting. Yay us.

I think the upside to join the WAC is that with Texas State and UTSA on board we might actually get some regional airplay. Maybe if UTEP comes aboard we can talk turkey...

Classy, but also smart. A-State could have run the ensuing kickoff back and then gotten an onside kick. The odds would be really really long, but still higher than muffing the kneel-down. No reason to risk a sure-thing.

In all honestly I think very very highly of Mangino as a coach. Getting Kansas to (and winning) the Orange Bowl is quite remarkable given the level of athlete they recruit. As a football mind alone he might actually be my #1 pick for us. I just think the poor guy has a lot of demons to deal with. I can't see him living long if he stays that size.

I'm not sure Mangino could get through the turnstile.

I'm confused how Texas State and UTSA are going to be FBS by 2012. How does that work? I like Texas State, but I went to their last home game against Central Arkansas and their little 15k stadium was only half full (1/3 full by halftime). UTSA doesn't even field a team. Are there no longer minimum attendance figures or stadium sizes?

I think he was just throwing his coaches under the bus... You don't spend $5M a year on a guy for him to pass the buck. I don't think I'd get far blaming my staff if my department was floundering.

We'll... had he just roughed a kid up a little I think a second chance would be a no brainer. The cover-up (if true) speaks a little to a lack of integrity though.

Bower wouldn't be my first choice, but can someone explain all the hate? He's the type of guy who seems to get 7-8 wins a season consistently. Probably not the type of guy who'd get us consistently ranked, but it would be at least nice to have winning seasons. Is there something I'm missing?

I don't care if he's John Elway, they are still not going to win. As mediocre as our lines have been, they'd greatly overmatch ACU (I'm so depressed I even have to discuss this. Sign of the times I guess). Tell you what. Call Dodge and have him schedule the game . I'll give you 14 points.

Guys.. we are bad, really bad, but I think everyone needs to keep a little perspective. We'd beat ACU by at least 4 touchdowns if we played them. The difference in the quality of athlete we have if pretty large. Even if Dodge is football Trilli, this isn't basketball and we'd cream any Division II team we faced. We'd probably cream 75% of the 1-AAs as well.

Ummm... actually yeah. I would put my life savings on us beating ACU.
