  1. I like RV, I was just playing around. But I have to call you on the selling pizza thing. It's really not a very hard business compared to most others.
  2. Pfffft... Rick V doesn't have what it takes to make changes. We need to recruit an AD who can roll with the punches. Next time we should get a guy who ran a Pizza Hut or a Mr. Gattis instead....
  3. After designing the new marks it occuered to them that MS Paint simply wasn't capable of 3d graphics. Behold the 3D Eagle:
  4. My hand is extended...Anyone can IM me if they have xtra tix. I think the thing that bothers me is not the markup. I can understand the university wanting to make money and giving a discount to season ticket holders..that sounds reasonable.. I just don't like the explanation that UNT alum have to pay because UT fans cheat the system...
  5. Ugg.... 1. Why should I buy season tickets if I live south of Austin and can't make the games??? I don't think I should have to pay $200 extra in order to get my family out there. I'm a $ giving alum for goodness sake. I'm not just wasteful which would be buying season tickets I can't possibly use. 2. UNT's ticket office responsibility is to support UNT fans not figure out how to make money off UT fans. I'm so tired of places punishing everybody because they are too lazy or too incompetant to address the problem makers. UNT alum should be able to get tickets for the $50 price. It is pitiful and inexcusable that the AD doesn't want to find a proper solution. Pure laziness and pure poor administration...
  6. That's just asinine unless we plan to sell out our allotment... all it's going to do it prevent Mean Green fans from getting tickets and the remaining allotment reverting to UT anyway...
  7. Pfft..retarded if true...Has UNT ever sold out its allotment?
  8. sorry if this has been asked a million times already. When will UT tickets be available for UNT alums?
  9. The hypocrisy on the board is amazing..... We gripe that a developer is taking over land we don't control while denouncing Denia residents who do the same thing. Free market prevails y'all. If you want Fry Street to stay you'd best start drinking more. You have your mission....
  10. Early High School - 1997 Little school next to Brownwood. None of that town's sports sucess. Our grads are about 30 IQ points brighter though.
  11. '97 A&M game at Texas Stadium. Good first half as I recall...
  12. What you've seen in the past is irrelevant. Multiple cities have, in cooperation with the TABC, been doing just that. The precedent has been set.
  13. So we can't define "drunk" and we can't define "danger to self or others". So if I'm sitting in a bar after having three beers minding my own business, it's perfectly fine for an officer to arrest me because it's "possible" that I might drive home and "possibly" get into a wreck. This is not a slam on you Emmit, because I don't know you. But a big chunk of police folks I've encountered have a huge power complex (apparently the TABC is a good example). I don't want them to have such open ended power.
  14. I have no problem with charging public intoxication if it is in conjunction with another crime (disturbing the peace, assault, etc.), but to arrest someone because they are drunk, especially inside a private establishment, who has committed no crime is beyond belief. If someone is intoxicated how dare you arrest them because you feel its clear a crime could be committed. I don't want someone arrested for something they haven't done.... This law needs some major reworking.
  15. I barely ever go out drinking, but I'm furious. Apparently, the TABC has decided that Texas law allows people to be prosecuted for being drunk IN A BAR. They have even been arresting people in hotel lobbies who are staying at the hotel... I encourage everyone to write their state congressman and the governor to put an end to this stupid stupid practice. Remember this while you are tailgating this year. You don't want to be arrested even if you are minding your own business.
  16. I say we take the land then crawfish and sell it off for our stadium...
  17. I don't know that we can put our trust in this Prince fellow........
  18. My post seems harsher than it was intended to be... If any of you are coaches I am not saying YOU are lazy. MY coaches were generally speaking...lazy... Also. I have no problem with coaches making more money than teachers. I'm just saying my coaches didn't work as hard as my teachers... I make much more money than my teachers did and I don't work near as much either....
  19. Coach, I'm not here saying all coaches are lazy lecturers and all teachers work hard. I'm sure there are tons of both. That being said, the fact that you think you work harder because you stay later speaks volumes. The teachers I know work until 8 to 9 grading papers every night. I doubt your average coach does that teaching "mathematics for home finance" and government/economics (I pick on gov/econ because my coach would literally have us read the chapter in class everyday and do the problems in the back of the book..and yes he generally wore sweatpants and I think anyone who was awake got an A. It probably took him 60 secs to prepare for that lesson. Now it's been 10 years since I graduated high school so it might have changed a lot, but I doubt it could be so significant so quickly. Now just to note.... I am not a teacher.. I work in a business office... I just know a lot of teachers and I've known a lot of coaches. So I'm just basing my judgement on personal experience. That's not to say any of the coaches here aren't great teachers as well, but of all the coaches I've known I think probably about 1/3 were capable and I would say that I only had 1 really good coach who was also a good teacher..
  20. I have to call you out on that a little bit. Most coaches I ever had (and I went to a few different schools) always taught the easiest courses (low level math, low level history, government/economics) and I can promise you that they did not put a 1/4 of the effort that most my teachers did. Most (good) teachers I know work about 10-12 hours a day all in all. That's not to say that coaches don't deserve their pay and yes there are probably a few coaches who teach AP Calc, but I call bullcrap on the general "Coaches work more" argument.
  21. You're welcome, lucky for you the judge through out the evidence. You really shouldn't leave those type of pictures on your computer...
  22. So are we not signing Demario?
  23. Agreed. Rice is in a bit of a different boat. Its academic standards are greater and its admission cheaper than any of the private schools just mentioned. Keeping football is just a matter of pride for them. It doesn't really help them in any way.
