  1. I imagine being the defending tournament champion helps a little.
  2. Wow. I never saw that one. I only ever saw the video of the TD catch out of bounds later in the game.
  3. 64 is too large for a separate conference really. There are only about a dozen schools that can move the needle nationally, another dozen who have large regional followings, and another dozen who do well enough within their own market to justify their existence $-wise. If the point is for the Ohio States and the UTs of the worlds to maximize their value, I imagine they would like to keep in to within 40 teams.
  4. I don't doubt it. I'm sure his personality is fine too. Clearly, he has a good football mind and people like to play for him. I'm just a little bewildered based on his interviews alone.
  5. I can't quite figure Traylor out... He's been so successful, but Lord, every video I watch of him, he seems dumber than a bag of rocks. He's like the middle school football coach you run into at the bar.
  6. I was thinking of 2009 where I think we lost 6 games by a score or less. I believe that was the argument for keeping him on another year at the time.
  7. It feels exactly like the Dodge years. Score a ton of points, give up a ton, and barely lose them all.
  8. Frankly.. it doesn't matter.. We all know we are headed to a 2 megaconference league (SEC, BIG10) and everything else will basically be considered 1-AA. ACC, Big12, AAC, PAC, Sunbelt.. sure some might be slightly preferable to others, but once the bigs break away we're in the minor league system...
  9. The whole I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio has exploded in population over the last 20 years. Kyle, just north of San Marcos, is the 3rd fastest growing city in the whole US. Austin has gotten too expensive and the schools crummier, so folks keep moving outward.
  10. Interesting. I didn't know Dayton had such a big following. On paper VCU looks like it's been the more successful program of the two over the last couple decades.
  11. I thought we established that you had to play the sports that your conference sponsors. Are the any conferences that sponsor everything other than football and basketball? Surely not.
  12. Wouldn't be the worst thing to have an excuse to take a trip to Corvallis. I don't know that any of our fans would be excited by a trip to Pullman though.
  13. Meh. Maybe, but I saw something about a Tuesday vote on Twitter earlier and the source seemed...sketchy. I tend to think there is a lot of circular information floating it's way through these boards. Regardless, I was under the impression that conference additions had to be pretty much unanimous in practice even if technically not required. Would the ACC really move ahead if multiple schools opposed?
  14. Real estate agent. Everyone's fallback career once their dream has died.
  15. So much wheel spinning on here. If Cal and Stanford are focusing their efforts to get out of the PAC, then nobody, not even SMU, is going to waste time and money to get into a conference with freakin Oregon State and Washington State. Aresco also can't ethically negotiate a group of schools out of the conference and he certainty couldn't do so and become the new PAC commissioner. He would be buried in lawsuits.
  16. I understand Cal and Stanford wanting to be in the ACC for football, but it'd be a nightmare for all other sports. Maybe they'd join the ACC for football and the AAC for everything else (with OSU and WSU as full members). Stanford would be a huge get.
  17. It depends on who all bails. If Oregon, Washington, and Arizona go to the Big 12, I don't think there is enough appeal to what is left.. Eyeballs are scarce out west even with the best teams and these aren't the best teams. The media rights the rump PAC would get probably couldn't even justify the buyout for the MWC schools. If Oregon and Washington stay in the PAC it probably survives.
  18. It's pretty amazing the Wyoming is able to maintain a FBS school. The entire state is only a little more than half the population of Denton County.
  19. I will say that I have seen folks I know post about their kid being at this camp. I think this is the first time I've ever seen that on my social media.
  20. I'm not that close to it anymore, but I can tell you high school jazz programs all around the country are very familiar with UNT. I'd say it's still considered tops in Jazz, tops in affordability, and (along with Indiana) tops for public schools and non-East Coast/LA music schools. I don't know that you're going to find a lot of good school rankings out there. Many of them probably considered SAT scores and such for the entire college, which of course is going to give you some strange results.
  21. Diversity and Inclusion. Unless it's people who think differently than we do, because we don't want that sort of diversity around.
