  1. For fun, I'd love to hear about other student-athletes that came through UNT from a coaching family. Coach's sons/daughters. How many can you name? I'll start with an easy one: Riley Dodge. There has to be more. @SilverEagle?
  2. Reading more and more about this kid. Bumping this thread, so I can easily find it and dump highlight videos into it.
  3. I get chemistry, so I think that could come into play. But so is re-injurying the hammie before we enter the tournament which, IMO, is much worse.
  4. Kinda OT, but those 1980s-1990s Golden Hurricane squads were unreal. I couldn't believe the coaches they went through. One home run hire after another, for like 20 years. Watching Tulsa and Bill Self come through El Paso was electric. I think it was his last year in Tulsa when he took them to the E8. 30 win season. I can only think of a few times where the atmosphere in the Haskins Center matched or exceeded that energy. A ranked UNM squad, some of the NMSU games, and getting to see Bob Knight, who was widely known as best friend to Haskins. They were hunting/fishing buds. It's always been a dream of mine to see 10K people in The Super Pit. I think a S16 run would light a fire in the Denton base. The feeling is incredible. Anyway, thanks for hearing my nostalgia lol
  5. Am I the only one thinking we won't see Rubin until the end of Feb? I know we don't want to talk about it, but the coaches should be thinking about playing his health conservatively. We want him full steam ahead for the tournament.
  6. I TOLD Y'ALL it is fun to win!
  7. I just don't think this is the banger "I told you so" you think it is. This team is pretty good with our full lineup, and can compete for first place. Now, if you are hanging your hat on saying "we have injury prone players", then congrats I guess.
  8. They are brought in with the intent to develop and play them. But When none of them follow through and can contribute, you're stuck with them warming the bench. It also IMO makes for fair criticism of the staff's recruiting efforts/strategies.
  9. As with most skillsets, development can benefit from repetitions in both simulated/live contexts, as well as in solo environments. And, as in the case of the article I linked to above, sometimes you only need a refresher in one of the above.
  10. Can we bring in Carthel and groom him to be optional next-in-line HC?
  11. Any one dialed into the BOR? Might give us some insight as to what direction they choose to go with the new President.
  12. Aren't there, like, 3x as many teams/programs fighting for the same playoff in MBB compared to D1 football and its playoff?
  13. Some weird "why practice when practice isn't the actual game?" suggestion here. https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39447970/usc-juju-watkins-explodes-51-keys-upset-stanford
  14. Stone is not a shooter of any kind. I'm okay with Edwards. Sometimes he drives me mad, but he is not our biggest problem right now. Let him keep being Edwards and hope that the rest of the team learns to create a little. Edwards might not have to be so chaotic if we can lighten up the burden of scoring from him. At this point, I think this team just needs to somehow survive until all our starters are back, and I think that is going to be played conservatively. Might even mean not seeing them until the AAC tournament. Also would love more discussion on who we have coming in next year and how they can fix problems/level up the team.
  15. I think his point was more about having a closer, and not so much about having TP.
  16. If we had the shooters/creators Hodge needs/wants, what would our offensive identity be?
  17. A step further on Morgan: has a bro that played at Baylor while McCasland was there. Per MGS
  18. Thanks for sharing Wardly. Great memory!
  19. Baltimore is neck-and-neck with Memphis in terms of crime rates. BUTTTT, that's irrelevant, because Orr took this job over another offer. He likes Baltimore and I'm happy that he's happy.
  20. haha I guess I'm alone in that, I think it's endearing. A sense of small town (not Old Denton), community involvement. Keep (New) Denton weird.
  21. Not necessarily a confidence issue.
  22. Oh man, my bad. I thought you were trying to highlight the price being too much. Complete misread on my part.
